Sisters and Crushes
"RHIANNON!" a decidedly British voice screamed. "If you\'re not down here in five minutes I\'m leaving with out you!"
Rhiannon, the sage-eyed woman shot up in her four poster bed and stared around her. "What a dream," her scottish voice whispered. The voice yelled again. "Yeah yeah I hear you!" she screamed back and bolted out of bed. Throwing on a pair of beat up jeans and a Puddlemere United t-shirt she shoved her brush through her hair, slipped on her sandals, grabbed her camouflage messenger bag and ran out the door.
She was always glad to be at home in her own house. Her parents were hardly ever around anymore, so that left her to take care of the three floor villa that sat on Sicily\'s best vineyard. "Oi!" she called down the winding double staircase to the blonde from her dream. "Lythia, if you keep yellin\' like that you\'ll be hoarse and then what\'ll you do come the next match?" she asked, looking down at her.
Lythia pointed her ebony wand at her own throat and then cleared it. "I\'ll be rooting for the winning team, Zanetti," she teased as she smoothed out her Falmouth Falcons shirt. She too was wearing jeans, but they were much tighter and more flattering of her perfectly elegant form. Next to her arm-crossed figure hovered two brand new looking brooms. "Well?" she asked as she mounted her own pitch black one, leaving the mahogany broom for her friend.
With a shrug Rhiannon slipped onto the banister and let go. Rolling her eyes Lythia turned towards the main double doors and, using her wand to open them, burst out with great speed as if to outrun her companion and despite the fact that Rhiannon had chosen an unconventional method of coming down a flight of stairs she managed to leap off of the banister directly onto her broom and fly off after her friend, laughing happily as she soared only a few feet behind her friend. "So,\' she called, \'Laura and Jocelyn not coming?" she asked as they made their way towards Diagon Alley.
"Are you kidding? I heard they left hours ago to get to the Weasley shop...ever since school the two of them have fancied those twins. I could never understand it, but,\' she paused to shrug her toned shoulders, \'whatever makes them happy...and gets them to stop bitching to me about it," she finished, then turned to her friend with a scowl which, around Rhiannon never lasted long.
Rhiannon had wrapped her legs around her broom and was now hanging upside down and staring at her friend. "Well what about you, then, Harrison?" she asked as they both laughed.
"Rhi...you know I\'m not looking for that kind of thing. Even if I was...what...you think I\'m going to go looking for Malfoy after that pansy move he pulled when we were kids?" she grumbled. "Besides...you\'re one to talk. You\'ve had the chance to see Wood again...have you done anything? Noooo!" she spat back.
"Hey...I thought you weren\'t talking about that anymore," Rhiannon protested, but Lythia was already leagues ahead of her and she would have to fly seriously to keep up with her. She took it as a blessing as her mind wandered back to her school days and the time that she spent with her childhood friend. It felt like centuries ago, so many things had changed and now she was a different person, as she was sure he was, too. The idea of her ever really seeing him again was ridiculous anyway.
