Chapter 2
“So what are you two planning to do on Friday?” Harry had asked Ron as they both sat in front of the monitors keeping an eye out for insurgent activities that had been on the rise.
“Dinner,” he said as he ran his fingers through his short cropped red hair. “Not terribly original, I know.”
“I’m sure Hermione will love it,” Harry answered and then teased, “You only celebrate a third wedding anniversary with your true love once you know.” Ron smiled to himself. He had proposed to her four years out
of Hogwarts after a year of exclusive dating.
They were at home in their apartment after dinner. He remembered her pausing; not answering for a good moment as if she really needed time to ponder her decision.
He started to look down, dismally as no answer had come. He looked across the small kitchen table, still holding her hand as he held the opened jewel box in his other hand.
“Yes,” the voice was wavered. Then without warning, she quickly stood up and hugged him.
“Yes,” she kept saying and only stopped when Ron put his lips onto hers for what seemed like the longest kiss they had ever exchanged.
“Hey,” Harry tried to get the daydreamer’s attention. “Remember. You and Hermione are coming to dinner at our house the following night so don’t party too hard, huh.”
“Very funny, Harry,” Ron said as he pressed a couple buttons. “Ginny ordering in or conjuring up a feast.”
“I think a little of both. Harrison likes the Chinese noodles from Chinatown.
“The little busybody is already doing up little spells that your mum’s been trying to teach him.”
“Good old Mum.”
“How ‘bout you and Hermione? When’s the first hitting the town?”
“We’re both so busy. And what with everything going on right now . . .” he trailed off.
“Yeah, I know.”
“We’ll find the right time. Besides, I don’t think the world needs another red headed lad wreaking more havoc just yet,” Ron quipped. The two friends laughed.
