The way she feels

Chapter Two: She found relief in a Knife

Chapter name (And title) from the song 'The way she feels' by between the trees

------

It had been a few months since Hermione had left Ron and she felt more depressed than when she was with him. Walking into her flat after a long day at work, she tried to fight the tears. Her boss had yelled at her for being late and told her if she doesn't change her act soon she will be out of the job. It was soon becoming too much for her as she walked into her bedroom. There wasn't anything anyone could do to make her feel better as she dropped deeper into depression.

She had felt numb the whole day, even though she cried, she couldn't feel the pain that was behind her tears anymore. She couldn't feel anything anymore, unless she had found ways to make herself feel. Which was what she was going to do right then as she pulled out a sharp knife from her dresser drawer. Pulling up her long sleeved top she pushed the knife against her skin and made a deep incision. She cried softly as she made two more and watched the blood drip from her arm. Putting away the knife she just sat there watching the blood drip onto her light blue jeans leaving stains.

As she finally got up to wash away the drying blood she heard a loud knock at the door and she dashed quickly into her bathroom and washed her arm and changed her pants into another pair, before walking over to the door, her arm stinging from the cloth rubbing against the open wounds. Opening it she was nearly knocked over as her 'self proclaimed favorite Weasley' came barging in, with bags of her favorite sushi and rice from the little restraunt down the street.

"My dear Hermione, you're favorite Weasley is here to make you smile!" He sang as he walked through the house. Hermione smiled weakly as she followed him into the kitchen.

"George as much as I love you being here, I kinda was hoping to have a night to myself." Hermione spoke softly as he started pulling out the food. He had been over almost every night for the past two weeks, saying he was determined to make her smile and get her happy again.

"Nonsense, I know you wanted someone there to cuddle when you are watching this." George smiled as he held up her favorite movie. Hermione eyes widen since she hadn't realized it had come out onto DVD. "Yes, yes Love me now. I know you wanna."

Hermione forced a small smile as the half of the set of Weasley twins tossed a lock of his growing red hair out of his bright green eyes. Running her hands through her brushy brown hair she tried to speak as George pulled her over to the small island that was in the middle of her kitchen. Sitting her down onto the chair George took the chair beside her.

"I bet Fred is getting jealous of how much time you are spending with me and not him." Hermione said half way through dinner as she took a bite of some rice. George shook his head as he drank some Mountain Dew.

"Since the engagement, Fred kinda has forgotten he even has a twin. Only time he even recognizes me anymore is when he has an idea for a new joke item or at work." George said kinda bitterly. Hermione hated hearing the word engagement but seeing the look on George's face she tried to ignore the tears that threatened to fall remembering her own broken engagement.

"How can you say that...You and Fred are inseparable. That's impossible that he could forget you. You are a team, twins, have a better bond than anyone else." Hermione said as she took a bite of her sushi. She could see the hurt of abandonment on George's face.

"You would think, now...it just seems like we are two busniess partners that look alike. Strangers even." George sighed before standing up and starting to put away the uneaten rice and sushi. "Come on, lets get the movie started."

It had taken a while to wake up George after the movie was over so he could go home. Walking out of the house half asleep he hugged Hermione and told her he would talk to her later and left down the street to his own flat a few blocks away. Hermione closed and locked the door, and closed her eyes. She had seem to have forgotten the numbness she was feeling for a while George had stayed over, but as soon as she locked the door her arm stung and she was empty once more.

Making two more incisions into her arms she took a shower, and cried softly. She didnt know why she was so empty inside and why havent she been able to move on but she couldnt. Even though George was trying his hardest out of all her friends to help her through it, she still couldnt stop herself from feeling nothing after he wasnt around, as well as not being able to forget what she had seen that day that changed her life and her happiness.

Her only relief she felt was a knife...and George...
