Chapter Two

I stumbled into the book store greeting the owner. Less than 5 min. ago I had gotten all the black robs I would need, gratefully moving to the best part of the trip.

I moved back to the old forgotten books of the store always wanting to look for buried treasure. I sift through the books for a while before one finally catches my eye. A black leather bound book.

Curiosity killed the cat.... but I can't help myself. Carefully I remove the book from the shelf and turn it over in my hands.

Its old, thats for sure. Atleast 1600's with an upside-down pentagram on the front. The pages are linen base. Very high quality. Its all in latin though, with highly detailed wood cuts.

The Nine Doors To The Kingdom Of Shadows, reads the title page, the only thing Im able to translate. All the images are fascinating....

I put the book on the top of some advance potions books I gather and check out.
My books are the only thing I don't shrink to carry. I take everything back to Hogwarts and arrange them in my room. Ordering tea and sit at my desk with the mysterious book starring back at me.

I take a sip of my tea and run my hand over the cover. High quality leather, perfect binding, the whole thing is authentic. 'Nine gates to the kingdom of shadows'... strange title. I pull back my hair with a pair of chopsticks before thoroughly examining the book. Its obviously rare. Im surprised I got it so cheap.

Sitting the book carefully aside, I pull put my personal journal, recording what I've found so far. Writing a list of books to pick up from the library tomorrow morning to see what I can find about it. A few Latin books, reference, and catalogs of all the rare books in existence. The first book I own thats rare. Hopefully its recorded, but I have a strage feeling that it won't be that hard to find.
