Chapter 2

The rest of the summer went by quicker than they could have imagined. Hermione was begining to accept the fact she was adopted and that her foster parents were dead. The letters form Hogwarts finally came a day before students had to return to school. Hermione was appointed Head Girl.

" If Malfoy's Head Boy and gives you any trouble, I'll kill him. " said Ron in a serious sort of way.

" Ron, Thanks for ther offer but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to handle Malfoy. But If I need help, you'll be the first one I'll ask." she said jokingly.

They were anixous to get to Diagon Alley, with the hope that they would see some of their friends. When they got there, they met Seamus and Neville who decided to go tag along with the group. They were headed to Weasly Wizard Wheazes. Hermione told them she would catch up with the group later. She wanted to check out a few books in Flourish and Blotts.

When she got there, she went to the back of the shop and climbed up a small set of stairs to a little place where you could sit down and read. She was looking at a book case of very old books when a strong pair of arms wrapped around her waist. She smiled as a pair of lips gently kisses her on the neck.

" Its been too long my love." she heard the young mans voice whisper in her ear.

She turned around and smiled at the man now stand ing in front of her. He was about 6'0 feet tall and had blond locks that fell over his grey-blue eyes. His body was nicely built, seeing he played Quidditch.

" Yes, it has." she repiled softly.

She caressed his face with her hand and slowly pulled him in toward her. She tilted her head up just enough to meet his lips. They were so soft and moist. He parted her lips with his tounge and carressed hers. She caressed his back. They had not kissed like this since the last day he was at school. The day Snape had killed Dumbledore. Hermione knew that Draco had not willingly joined the Death Eaters. After the attack , his mother had joined the Order and gave valuble information regarding Voldemorts plan. Draco was allowed to go back to school and finish his education.

She pulled away from his embrace to catch some air.

" We shouldn't be doing this, not here. People will see. That will only lead to trouble." Hermione spoke rather quickly.

Draco thought about it for a moment. He rubbed the back of his neck.

" Yea, I suppose you're right. We can always catch up in our Head Common Room tommorow night." he replied. " You are Head Girl, right?" he asked jokingly.

" Of course I am" she said.

" Do you think I worked my butt off for the past six years for nothing?" she siad bitterly.

"I'm only joking, Hermione." he said with a laugh. " I love it when you get all pissed off."

Hermione pursed her lips together. Secretly she loved it when he got her mad like this, but she would never let him know.

"Hermione!" she heard Harry's voice calling.

" Oh shit." she said quietly to herself. " Well I guess I'd better get going." she said in a sad and disappointed tone.

"Hermione. They're gonna find out sooner or later. You should tell them. Soon. I hate hiding it from people." said Draco.

She gave a small smile. " I promise I will. Tommorow night in the common room. I'll tell them."

With that said, she gave him a kiss on the cheek and ran down the stairs to meet her friends. She moved her way through the crowd of people and met up with her friends.

"Where's your books Hermione?" ask a confused Ginny. She never went into a book store and left without at least one new book.

"Oh ..uh.. they didn't have it" she replied nervously.

The group shrugged and turned to leave. Hermione followed, but turned back to see where Draco had gone. He was now standing by the Quidditch books, but he wasn't looking at the books, he was looking at her. He gave a small smile, that gave her chills. She couldn't wait till the next day when she would see him every day for the next 9 months.
