A Dark Path into the Light
Warning! The following story is intended for mature readers and contain content that may not be suitable for a younger audience. Parental discretion is strongly advised for anyone less than sixteen years of age. This story will deal with a number of controversial and possibly disturbing topics including but not limited to abuse, neglect, underage sexuality, homosexuality, and pedophilia. This story is not intended to condone, encourage, or glorify any of these acts (with the exception of homosexuality because then I would be a hypocrite). If you feel that any of these topics or any related material may offend or disturb you then I ask you not to read.
Chapter One
For those that did not know him or how he was raised, at first glance Sable Grayson could easily be mistaken for a wealthy young heiress of fine breeding and aristocracy, if indeed not nobility. His fine features, long hair, and lean form were decidedly effeminate. He knew all of the proper courtesies and held himself confidently. He was sin, pleasure, and beauty personified and it endeared him to the men and women who came to ‘socialize’ at the ‘school.’
He had been a resident of the school longer than any of the other boys and it showed. He was revered amongst the other boys as an icon to aspire to. He was the epitome of what they all should have been, learned, graceful, artistic, and uninhibited. He always has the finest of everything. He was lavished with affection and it was a rare sight indeed to see him being taken for ‘discipline.’
Like all of the other boys, his eyes held knowledge beyond his years, but unlike the other boys his eyes alone had lost the last light of their innocence. His past was a mystery and the rumors of his origin ran rampant among the other boys. It was said that he was the illegitimate son of some high ranking noble who had been forced into genteel poverty, leaving his/her son in the care of Master Grayson as payment of debt. Others said that he was the son of Master Grayson himself. Sable was a fallen angel or else an incubus sent to earth to tempt the weak and wanton. There were no bounds to the farfetched explanations for his presence at the school.
Sable himself knew better. He knew just who and what he was. He was a nameless orphan, unwanted by his family, and abandoned into a life of servitude. He was a boy raised in depravity, taught to accept and unacceptable fate. He had no past, no future, and no hope beyond survival into tomorrow. His will was broken, for now, and all he could force himself to do was obey.
He hated them all. Sable knew that he would happily rip the heart from the chest of every man and woman who had ever dared to touch him. If only he had the courage to strike back at them, bur he was weak and afraid. No one of them had honor and self-righteous indignation would not protect him from their wraths.
So it was with a perpetually heavy heart and no small amount of fear that Sable approached the ‘Headmaster’s’ office on that faithful day in late July that would change his life. He expected no courtesy to be given to him on this eleventh anniversary of his birth, however what was presented to him upon his arrival was nothing that he could have anticipated in his wildest dreams.
“I have already sent the letter of acceptance. You will retrieve your school supplies this afternoon and you will leave on September first.” Davis Grayson sat smugly watching his charge trying to comprehend this bout of generosity.
“I don’t understand. I cannot be a wizard. This must be some sort of cruel joke. Besides, I will not be able to perform my duties if I am away at some boarding school. Sable stood stoically waiting for the punch line.
“You no more believe this is a joke than I do. I have always known that there was something extraordinary about you. I never knew what it was or how to explain it, but there is not a doubt in my mind. This is legitimate. As for your duties; I think that it is more valuable to have a trained wizard at my disposal than to loose you for a few months out of the year.”
Sable knew than to argue regardless of the fact that this was insanity. Truthfully, if he was honest with himself, he was father excited by the possibility. This was his opportunity for revenge. He had power and once he learned to use it there was would be no one to stop him. He would personally kill each on every one of these pedophiles who thought they were above the law because of their money or position. Sable looked up when he realized that he had been woolgathering and waited for Master Grayson to speak again.
David handed the boy his supply list. “The correspondence says that a guide will be here to pick you up and escort you on your shopping trip. As I will be unable to join you, I am going to lay the ground rule for this whole escapade now. One: you will at no time reveal the true nature of this school or what occurs here. Two: as always, no one is allowed to touch you when you are off of these grounds. Three: You will keep up with all of your lessons while you are away. I will make sure that you have all of your materials to last you through the school year. Four: you will return here for ever break. Five: you will write to me at least once every two weeks. If you fail to do any of this then you will regret it. It is no mystery that you are my favorite, but you would do well not to test me on this.”
“Yes sir, Master Grayson, I will obey.”
“You are such a good boy, Sable. Come here you deserve a reward.”

Sable left Master Grayson’s office two hours latter feeling truly retched, but he felt nonetheless smug for it. If Master Grayson expected Sable to return to this school when there was another option, short of death. Then he was a bigger fool than Sable gave him credit for. This was just what the boy needed to feel his soul come back to life.
By necessity everyone at the school was a late riser, so there was really every little of the morning left to pass. Before he knew it lunch was over and Sable was being called back to the headmaster’s office.
When he arrived in the office there was a tall and very severe looking woman standing off to the side of the room exploring its contents with her eyes in obvious distaste. The headmaster was sitting primly behind his desk noticeably less enthusiastic about the whole idea than he had been that morning when he was making use of Sable.
Master Grayson seemed to remember himself quickly after he noticed Sable’s presence, “Sable, please have a seat. Let me introduce Deputy Headmistress McGonagall.”
Sable who had not yet taken his seat moved to her and, taking her hand, made a stiff bow brushing his lips over her palm. He straitened again and backed away. “I am delighted to meet you.” He waited for her to be seated and chose not to notice her blush, following slowly to his own chair.
“I must admit that I am a bit surprised that the Deputy Headmistress would see fit to come personally to do what must be a menial and tiresome task.”
McGonagall glared at Master Grayson as if her were something particularly foul. “Introducing a muggleborns student to the wizarding world is hardly menial. As it is rare that we have more than six or seven in a year, neither is it tiresome.”
“My apologies, professor, I did not intend to offend you.”
“Excuse me, I don’t mean to interrupt, but what is a muggleborns?”
Both of the adults looked up at him and McGonagall smiled brightly. “A muggle is anyone who cannot use magic, not born of a magical family. A muggleborns is a child who does have magic and is born of muggles. In other words you.” She looked back at Master Grayson, he expression turning darker. “I am sure that you have questions.”
“None that I have not already asked you. Any that young Sable here has can be answered while you are out. Unfortunately I will be unable to accompany you on you trip, as I have forty-three other boys here.”
“Very well.” She looked back at Sable and the smile reappeared on her face. “Mr. Grayson if you are ready.”
“Yes, Professor.”

The two of them were walking as Professor McGonagall said it was not far to where they would be shopping. Sable kept her talking by asking simple questions that he knew were likely to have complex answers. It was some fifteen minutes latter that he finally worked up the courage to ask what he really wanted to know.
“Professor?”
“What is it, Mr. Grayson?” She asked jovially.
“Please call me Sable and I have one more question.”
Minerva McGonagall had been teaching for thirty-four years and the tone of voice that Sable was using spoke of nothing less that serious fear of retribution for misdeeds. Nothing good had ever come of that tone. She stopped and looked down the street. They were still in the muggle shopping district, but there was no one near at the moment. She bent down in front of Sable and looked him in the eye. “Tell me what is wrong, Sable.”
“Does your world, our world I mean… do they… is there a law… protecting us… children I mean, from… having to do… things that they… that are wrong?”
Minerva was confused and more than a little apprehensive. “What kind of things, Sable?”
“Bad things.” He stopped and looked around, “Can we go somewhere else to talk about this? Hogwarts maybe? We are still too close to the school here.”
Minerva didn’t hesitate as she took Sable’s hand and led him down an empty alleyway. Taking her emergency portkey out she extended her hand to Sable again. “This will take us directly to the Headmaster’s office at Hogwarts. All you need to do is touch it.”
Sable suppressed the urge to smirk. Magic was going to be a wonderful thing. He would first be free of the ‘school’ that had turned him into a whore. He would study everything he could get his hands on and when he was done he would come back and have his revenge.”

A/N: That is it for now. I already have the first part of the next chapter written so maybe it wont be too long before I post again, but I really need to work on In Another Life first.
