Chapter 2: Learning of her past
“Professor, do you care to tell me what is going on here.” Harry asked as he leaned over Erin and touched her face gently as he examined her beauty further.
“Harry, to be honest, I wasn’t sure when she was going to come to us. And, I’m not sure as to why she came straight to you. What happened here?” Dumbledore asked.
“Oh, just Uncle Vernon yelling at me about how much of a freak I am, only this time instead of just hitting me once, he kept at it. She came in here just after he knocked me to the ground and gave me a few good kicks. She seemed to not understand how she got here and was surprised by her magic. I didn’t know what to tell her when she asked.” Harry looked up at Dumbledore. “Who is she, Sir?”
“She is the daughter of a dear friend of mine.” He stated. “But I’m not sure why she is so surprised by the magic. He has obviously kept things from her.”
“But if she is a witch, then shouldn’t she have come to you at 11, like I did?” Harry asked. He was very confused about what was going on.
“Harry, she’s not exactly a witch. She is half fae and half human. Had she been full fae, she would have come into her magic at birth. But normal Wizards or Muggle born Wizards come into their magic at puberty. So on all honesty; we really had no clue as to when her magic would reveal itself. And to my understanding the fae blood would be dominate, so her magic would have very little to do with spells and wands, but of earthly magic instead.”
“You are joking right. I thought fae or fairies were little winged creatures.” Harry said with a laugh.
“Oh, you’re partly right. One of her possible abilities is to shrink in size and grow wings upon demand. But we really won’t have a clue until she matures magically.” Dumbledore said in all seriousness.
Harry just looked at him with a straight face wondering how he managed to get involved with this and why were these things always happen to him.

Erin woke up in a hospital bed and groggily looked around. A woman came to her dressed in a nurse’s uniform and started to ask her questions.
“My dear, a normal awakening spell should have worked on you, but for some reason you remained unconscious over a day. How are you feeling?” She asked her kindly.
“Tired. But, uh, where am I now?” Erin asked. She was starting to get tired finding herself in a new location with unknown reasons as to how she got there. She laid her head back down and sighed.
“Ah, Miss Keely you are awake.” Dumbledore said as he approached her bed. The nurse bowed her head and left so that the Professor could talk with the girl.
Erin looked up and figured that this meant that she was at Hogwarts. “Please tell me you know what is going on, Sir.”
“Mostly, but I would like to address that issue in my office.” He stated. “Harry here, will tell you about the magical world and will promptly deliver you to my office in one hour, as I have some pressing issues to take care of first. “
Erin looked past Dumbledore and saw Harry. He was fidgeting in the corner.
Harry was happy to see that Erin was ok. He was upset to know that a simple spell wouldn’t work on her and that they had to take her to Hogwarts to have Madam Pomfrey take a look at her. He really didn’t know what to think about Erin, being that she was half fae. He felt completely inadequate to be her guide but at the same time he felt drawn to her.
As Dumbledore left, Harry came forward and addressed Erin. “Hi.” He said shyly.
“Hi, Harry.” She gracefully got off the bed, approached him and took his hand in her own feeling it warm up just a bit. “I’m glad to see you looking better than you did yesterday.”
“Well, thanks to you. I was really wondering when he was going to stop. He almost seemed possessed.” Harry said as he down looked into Erin’s blue eyes.
“I wish I just knew what was going on. I grew up all my life in seclusion with my father. We have a cabin out in the woods and I love it there. This castle looks so large.” Erin said as she looked around the room. “Do you think we can do this talk outside?” She asked turning back to Harry.
Harry was coming to the conclusion that she had no idea about her fae side. She grew up with her father, meaning that just maybe she didn’t know about her mother, her mother most likely being the Fae.
He could easily see how uncomfortable she was inside the castle walls so he took her hand and led her out of the castle, walking her to his favorite tree by the Lake.
