Max's
It had taken Adrienne hours to find something proper to wear. She didn't want to look too wontan, but she didn't want to look too uptight. Most of her clothing was casual, but Max's was a classy, upscale place. She would need something special.
Finally, she picked a simple, black dress. It was one of those slip dresses. The fabric was a light silk and it clung to her body. She hoped it wasn't too tight, even though it felt tight. When she looked in the mirror, she saw it looked fine.
She walked into Max's five minutes early. Luckily, Lucius was already there. She took a deep breath and walked up to the table. Once she got close enough to see his face, she noticed he had a critical look on his face. 'Please don't let me mess this up.' She silently pleaded to herself.
Lucius stood when she reached the table. "Good evening, Miss Fleur."
"Good evening, Mr. Malfoy." Adrienne answered, not realising he had addressed her.
"Please, call me Lucius." He said sitting back down.
"Alright...LuciusLuciLucius loved the way his name rolled off her tongue.
"I am a little curious."
"About what?" Adrienne said, drinking some water from her glass.
"As to why you owled and asked for a date." Lucius said, watching her as if he was trying to get the answer from her body language.
"I know we haven't been on very good terms. Especially after Draco died, but I feel that we should try to come together. I feel it won't hurt as much if we mourn our losses together." Adrienne said, not even flinching at the lie.
"So, you aren't here because of that article in the paper about me needing a bride to provide me with an heir?" Lucius asked.
"I don't read the Daily Prophet much, and yes, I did glance at that article, but I am not here about that. Honestly." Adrienne was telling the truth, at least about the reason for being there. Lucius seemed satisfied.
The waiter came out and took their order. She noticed that Lucius had a fondness for seafood. She liked seafood, too. They both ordered the lobster thermidor. Lucius also ordered a bottle of espensive champagne.
"So, Miss Fleur, tell me something about yourself that I don't already know." Lucius said, taking a sip from his glass.
"Alright. Both of my parents were killed a few years ago. My brother, Christian, is on a quidditch team, he plays with Ronald Weasley. My best friends are Blaise Zambini and Nina Skylark. I am eighteen years old and I like seafood. Is that enough?" Adrienne said sweetly.
"For now."
During dessert, Adrienne noticed two particular eyes on her mouth. When she looked up, Lucius was staring at her.
"What?! Is there something wrong?" Adrienne asked, pulling out her compact mirror.
"No. Nothing is wrong. I was just looking at what you were doing with that spoon."
"Oh." Was all Adrienne could say.
From Adrienne's view the date had gone pretty well. It could have gone better, but she could only hope that he was more physically attracted to her than worrying about what her motives were. If he found her physically attractive than that gave her a base to work off of.
Lucius, on the other hand, had always thought Adrienne was beautiful. Draco had left picture upon picture of her at the Manor and Lucius hadn't the heart to throw them out. He spent day after day, just staring at the pictures. Wishing he could touch her, kiss her, make her moan. Now he had his chance.
