Chapter Two
Sirius Black was in a foul mood. The resolve he\'d had just a few days ago was dwindling. It wasn\'t easy to win a lover back if said lover wasn\'t around, and didn\'t call for him. He\'d sent Lucius an owl two days earlier, and there was still no reply. In some ways, that was even worse than getting a note back stating that Lucius didn\'t have time for him at the moment. That would of course mean that he was busy with Snape... but at least he would have taken the time to write back.
That Snape was just as busy with school as Sirius himself was, never entered his mind. In his dark and jealous thoughts, he imagined all kinds of things that Lucius did to and with Snape. Things that Sirius would like Lucius to do with him; and most of all, time that should have rightfully been Sirius\', was time that Lucius used on someone else.
He was on his way to class, having taken a little extra time to find his books, the reason why he swaggered down the hallway all on is own. He\'d meet up with his fellow Marauders outside the classroom. He turned a corner, taking a shortcut to the second level corridors, when he caught sight of someone walking ahead of him. Apparently, Sirius wasn\'t the only one who used this route at this time of day. His lips curled in a cruel smile as he recognised the other boy: Severus Snape.
Sirius stared at the lanky figure of the Slytherin, gaze boring into his back. Snape was walking slowly, head bowed and a book in his hand. Was he reading up on his homework just before class? Sirius sneered – so Lucius\' little lapdog hadn\'t had time to prepare for his classes... The corridor was still empty apart from the two of them, and Sirius hurried his steps a bit to walk up behind Snape, and pushed him hard against the wall.
\"Stay out of my way, Snivellus!\" Sirius\' voice was full of hatred. He wanted to hurt the boy, humiliate him, break him, but that was always more effective in public. He\'d have to settle for scaring him then.
Snape dropped the book he\'d been reading as he slammed into the wall. Sirius Black. Of course. Of all the horrible people in the school, this was the one he hated the most. The rest of the gang were almost as bad, but this was the leader of the bunch, the one who goaded the others, and made them all excel in cruelty and idiocy.
Sirius kicked the book aside, not caring if he damaged it; in fact hoping that he would, since Snape seemed to like and care for his books, always reading, always busy with learning. Just seeing him brought out the worst in Black, and it didn\'t help at all that he suspected that the boy was trying to take Lucius from him.
He held Snape against the wall, pressing his shoulders firmly into it by putting a hand square in his chest, and held one wrist in a tight grip to keep him from reaching for his wand. He looked at the boy, studied his face and appearance. \"Circe, you\'re ugly! Can\'t understand how anyone would want to touch you... Didn\'t your mum teach you how to use soap?\" Sirius demonstratively wiped his hands down Snape\'s robes as he let go of him.
Snape glared at Black. He\'d almost learned not to pay any attention to the hurtful words of others, but Sirius seemed to always be able to find a way inside his protective wall. It didn\'t matter though if Black thought him ugly and repulsive... Lucius didn\'t. Lucius liked him.
\"Then don\'t touch me!\" Snape snarled, moving away from the wall, from Black, closer to his book. As he reached it, he bent down to pick it up. Black closed in on him, and he had just enough time to straighten up again before a foot found the back of his knee, causing him to lose his balance and crash into the wall again. As he turned to face Black he held his wand in a tight grip, threatening him with it. He was good at curses when he wasn\'t at a disadvantage.
Sirius had taken out his own wand as Snape had his back turned to him and sneered at the boy. \"Do you want a duel, Snivellus? I\'m sure Dumbledore would love you for causing one, he might even expel you.\" There were footsteps and sounds of laughter coming closer, and Black put his own wand away just before a group of students turned the corner, leaving him looking defenceless before the threatening stance of Snape.
One of the students, a seventh year Gryffindor, approached Snape and Sirius. \"You\'re not thinking about using that wand against Sirius, are you?\" The older boy looked Snape over, taking in the hatred and the barely contained anger. \"Don\'t make me report you, Slytherin.\"
Snape almost growled in frustration and put his wand away and picked up his book again. With a last hateful look on Sirius\' face he hurried off in the direction of his next class. Sirius smiled at his \'rescuer\', satisfied that once more, Snape had looked like the one making the threats and the trouble.
~.~.~
\"James!\" Sirius casually flopped down on the couch next to the boy and smiled at him. \"It was fun today... I must say that it was a stroke of genius flipping Snivellus over upside down. Genius!\" He grinned, revelling in the feeling of satisfaction over the public humiliation. Even better that he couldn\'t be fully blamed for it, James was good in that respect, always eager to entertain him. He thought back on the whole experience earlier that day – the name-calling, the disarming, the curses and ... He\'d wanted the boy to hurt, and he was pretty sure they had accomplished that.
James grinned back. \"Thank you, Sirius. Always nice to know that you appreciate my efforts.\" They both laughed at the haughty and over-bearing tone of voice that James had adopted. \"It did relieve the boredom... Although, I\'m still wondering why Evans reacted like that. First protecting the little worm, and then calling him names too... He\'s never been nice to her.\"
\"Not that you know of, Jimmy love.\" Sirius winked at him, then ducked as James lunged at him. They wrestled for a while, before Sirius got the upper hand and pinned James down on the floor, where they\'d ended up while fighting. He liked this, liked feeling James struggling under him, and found it to be slightly arousing. No wonder, when they were grinding their bodies against each other like that. Sirius pushed his hips against James\' body, his growing erection rubbing against the boy\'s groin. It felt good, the slight friction teasing him, causing more blood to flow down to his cock.
As usual, James grew completely stiff, not moving a muscle, barely daring to breathe. The boy knew by now that Sirius preferred boys, and at moments like these he seemed less sure of himself than what the world was used to seeing. There was a strange look in his eyes as he looked up at Sirius. Fear? Expectation? Longing? Sirius didn’t bother finding out, it wasn\'t James he wanted anyway. They were friends, and he didn\'t want to risk ruining that by having sex with him.
Sirius grinned widely and let go of the boy as he felt him relax under him, accepting the situation and Sirius\' strength as a leader. Sitting down in the sofa again, he looked as elegantly handsome as always, whereas Potter, sitting on the floor, looked tousled up.
Sirius looked out over the common room, slightly lost in thought. It had been almost three weeks since he\'d last seen Lucius. Three weeks since he\'d felt his demanding hands on his body. It was too long; he was a raging teenager, for Merlin\'s sake. Once lust had been awakened in him, he wanted more of it, craved it. He didn\'t think it was love that he felt, or was it? There was no doubt in his mind that he was jealous. That was obvious even to himself. He had had hopes, hopes for the future... perhaps a bit too early to think of relationships, he was only fifteen after all, but he wanted Lucius. He wanted him to always be in his life, in his... bed; or rather he wanted to always be in Lucius\' bed. It was convenient, and it felt good. Both of them could get married to a suitable young woman, produce heirs as they were supposed to, and still be able to get what they wanted from each other. So simple.
What made Snape think that he was good enough for Malfoy? Sure, he was pureblood, but so was Sirius. Sirius had elegance, good looks, and popularity... He had all those things that Snape didn\'t have. It shouldn\'t be too hard to get Lucius\' attention back Snape was really no competition for him. However, for the sheer audacity of trying to outmanoeuvre Sirius, Snape would have to be punished in some way.
\"Say, James...\" Sirius smiled at his friend. \"I think the Snivelly Snape needs to be taught a lesson. He really shouldn\'t call Lily Evans, or anyone else, names.\" He used James\' infatuation with the girl to secure that he\'d follow his lead. \"Who knows what he\'ll do next time? He might even use some of those infernal Dark Arts that he\'s so fond of against her.\"
