The Uneventful Story

Hello all, I have returned from the dead! Heartfelt apologies all around for my disappearance. A lot has happened and to be frank, I really needed a break from writing. I was getting too paranoid about who liked what, who didn’t like what, what was too purple of phrase, what was too clichéd, etc. It was really tainting my style and I just needed a step back and breath.

Also, I moved back home and didn’t have internet for a long time, which also didn’t help. Plus the new book came out and it made me question if I should rewrite everything so it would stick with canon as much as possible (answer: forget it, it’s too much trouble!). To make up for my absence, I have two chapters released.

I also wanted to make a few things clear (I think I’ve said it in my LJ but who reads my crap anyway):

1. Although I do sympathize with those of you who are disappointed with the way the fic is going (light-hearted to uber angsty), this was the direction I was going for the whole time. Even as early as chapter 5, I wanted to show that there was much uglier things brewing underneath it all. I love stories that start out fun and it turns out things are much darker than they seem (so this is my attempt at it). I do hope you’ll stay and read it until the end, but if not, I understand. If you find a really funny fic (or decide to show me up and write a better one of your own), please let me know!! I love a good fic rec =)

2. Someone, I forgot who, was confused about the timeline of things. This is my fault, as I tried to be as vague as possible and probably ended making everyone go, “buh”? So basically, during the War, Hermione went on some sort of mission (I haven’t revealed what happened yet), she returns, and THAT is when the three-part flashback begins. So you’re supposed to be in the dark as to why she was so traumatized in the beginning.

3. For those of you that actually like my fic (yay you exist!), I’m announcing that I’m going to be writing TWO new series, all related to The Uneventful Story. One will be a prequel, about the gang’s time during the War, which will answer what happened to Hermione on her mission and what happened between Draco, Blaise, and Hermione - this will be a lot darker than Uneventful Story. The second will be a collection of vignettes/drabble that will be all over the place: Hogwarts, War, Ministry, whatever I see fit. If you don’t like dark, go look into this one. It will mostly humorous. I’m not sure if I’ll be doing them at the same time or not, we’ll see. I’ll be starting them after I finish with Uneventful.

4. I hope you all don’t hate Draco and Hermione in this fic. I’m trying to convey that Draco is not a monster but neither is he a gentle, cuddle bear. Also, just because Hermione is staying with Draco despite all that he’s done to her doesn’t make her weak or stupid (at least, not in this context).
