As time went on, the more Alex thought about what had passed between her and Severus, and the more she thought about the ‘what if’s’, the angrier she got. Christmas break came and most of the students went home for break. Alex, Kevin, and Sasha stayed with a handful of other students. Sitting at breakfast one morning, Alex was fuming, mulling things over in her head. She saw a shadow cross in the corner of her vision and turned to look. Severus was taking his seat at the head table. She watched as he picked out some bacon, eggs and waffles. Just sg hig him and his cool calm exterior made her blood boil another ten degrees higher. He can just go through his day habitually, and not have anything affect him. He didn’t seem like he was in pain like she was. No questions lurking in his head. Nothing missing out of his perfectly planned day. Nothing troubling him. He paused and turned his eyes towards her. Black staring into blue. His eyes narrowed.
“Alex!” Her friend poking her in the ribs ended the staring contest.
“What!” She snapped back. “Don’t poke me, you know I hate that!” She sighed. “Sorry Kev, I just didn’t get much sleep last night is all.”
“It’s ok, you’re just a million miles away and I tried to get your attention a couple of times before I resorted to poking.” He shied away from her.
“What was it that you wanted?”
“Oh, just wondering what your plans were for the next few days.”
“Oh, I don’t really know, relaxing, sleeping, we are on vacation.” She smiled at him.
He gave her a weak smile and then turned away. Sasha whispered in her ear. “Why don’t you just go talk to him already!”
“Yeah ok, and what am I supposed to say? ‘Gee Sev, what happened a month ago to make you change your mind?’ Or how about ‘Remember when…?’ I don’t think so.”
“Not like that, but you should still go talk to him, at least then there’s a chance you’ll stop snapping at us.” Alex sighed and stared at her plate.
“Yeah I know, but I just don’t know what to say, and even if I did, I don’t think I could go down there- I’m not in Gryffindor.”

9 o’clock. 'This is stupid, what am I going to say?’ Thought Alex standing at Severus Snapes door. She was so lost in thought she didn’t remember the walwn twn to the dungeons. She hesitated and with a deep breath, knocked on the door. There was a rustling and a sound like a bottle being knocked over before the door was thrown open. He stood there without his billowing cloak, shirt half tucked in and hair a mess. A strong smell of fire whiskey greeted her. He was clearly intoxicated. Looking past him, she saw his room was a mess, empty bottles and glasses of all sorts littered the tables and floors. Severus was clearly intoxicated. He staggered at the door, looking at her like he was trying to see if some one was really there.
“Miss Owens…what in Merlin’s name would you want at my door step on this wretched evening?” He hissed. Alex blanched at the coldness in his voice
“A couple of answers, Professor.”
“Well, do come in.” He gestured her inside and closed the door behind “A “And what questions are you looking for answers to?”
“How many other girls have you done this to?”
“Done wha
“
“You know exactly what I’m talking about, don’t play stupid.” The anger she had felt all this time finally bubbling over and out in her words as she finally faced the object that caused her to feel this way.
He sighed “No one, just you.”
“Never?”
“No, it was something the Deatheaters liked to do to muggles, use them, call them back when they wanted some fun, obliviated them and… got rid of them… once they tired of them. It made it look like the muggles just ran away, and the Deatheaters met their blood lust at the same time. Almost equivalent to how Vampires seduce their victims. The act made me sick, I never participated.”
“And is that what you did to me? Is that all it was? Just using me until you were bored?” Severus took a swig from the bottle and was silent. “Well?!”
“…No…” He whispered it so quietly, for a second she didn’t think she heard it.
“What happened, exactly, a month ago.”
“I thought that much was obvious, but maybe I underestimated your intelligence.” He said, reverting to the coldness he had a second ago as he poured himself another glass of the golden liquid, reducing the bottle to a fourth of what it had originally been.
“You let me go of your spell, which I suppose I should be grateful for, but then you wanted nothing to do with me after, why?”
“Because one should have the choice of who they’re with, not because they’re forced to.”
“Oh, and I suppose this never crossed your mind back in September?”
“I am not perfect, Miss Owens, I do not claim to be. You should not have to be stuck with the greasy bat from the dungeons.”
“And what if I choose to be now.”
“That does not matter, your choice would be corrupt, it is a lingering side effect from the spell, nothing more. What you feel is not real.”
“Not real?! How is it then, that whenever I look at you, even think about you, all I want to do is be in your arms again? Or to want to talk to you, like we did that last night? I can’t get you out of my head Severus.”
“It’s not what you want.”
“I think that is for me to decide.”
He crossed the room and was a inch from her face in a second. “And what do I do, when you’ve decided it was just the spell, and you come to hate me for it? You’re just going to leave, and I will be left here, alone. Missing the sight of you, being lost in your eyes, missing your touch, your sighs, our s. s. What happens when you fiome ome one better? And I have to read about your engagement in the paper? You leaving me to live your life, and I’m stuck in this hell hole worse than I am now without you?!”
“You don’t have to! I’m here.” She shouted at him.
He started yelling even louder. “Yes, but for how long?! I thought I could get you out of my system when I put you under that spell. Thought for sure I could rid my dreams of you, if I could only have you for a little while. You drained my heart and made a spade, but there’s still traces of you in my veins. I die a little more each day with out you. What am I to do if you give me hope and then there’s nothing left!? How can I live?!”
“Fuck you Severus! You think you’re the only one here with feelings!? How can I go on?”
He took her face in his handsngerngers digging into her cheeks. “I don’t know, why don’t you ask Mr. Drega? You’re just a whore! I’ll bet things have happened between you two since last month! I’ve seen the way you look at each other!”
“Nothings happened! We kissed and found out it’s strictly platonic!”
“NO! No! You slept with him haven’t you?! You’re just too hard up to have only one lover!” His mouth came crashing down on hers to stifle her next comment. Moaning, both of them sank to the floor on their knees. Their mouths devouring, trying to fight for control.
“Fuck you Severus.”
“No…no…fuck you.”
Clothes ripped and fell to the floor, each in a struggle to get the other undressed. Passions were high and both were blinded by the sheer need that had been building since their last meeting. Tongues entwining, sweat breaking out on their foreheads.
“Does he make you feel this way? Can he do this to you?” He groaned huskily in her ear. She could say nothing in response but moan. Flesh molding to the others, vying to become one.
“A man touches you and you’re wet.” He whispered into her ear as he dipped his fingers into her. They sank onto the floor, and he thrust inside her. She gasped, eyes wide, and clawed at his back, leaving crescent shaped marks in his shoulders.
“Do you moan and scream with him like you do with me? Can he make you feel like this?” He pounded into her harder and faster. Her delicious mouth open in a silent ‘O’ of pleasure. She came hard around him.
“Can he make you cum like this?” And she came again, and again, before he reached his limit and spent himself into her. After he caught his breath, he stood up and repaired their clothes.
“Now get out of my sight, I can’t stand to look at you another second.” He finished his glass and poured another one.
She got up and fled the room.
“I'm sorry...It hurts to be with you and hurts to be away…If only you knew Alex…” He whispered to an empty room.
