When the Day Has Gone
Ok so here is Chapter 16. Enjoy
~Chapter sixteen: When the day has gone~
Isis and Sirius lay down on the sofa that night and watched the snowfall outside the windows. “It’s so pretty.” Isis said.
Sirius intensified his grip on Isis. “I guess so.” He played with a strand of her hair and continued to look out the window. “Today was a good day. It’s a shame your mother couldn’t be here to share it.”
“Oh she’ll be here tomorrow night.”
“It won’t be Christmas tomorrow.” Sirius said dropping the lock of hair.
Isis turned to look at him. “Yes it will. Mom and I celebrate Christmas until Epiphany.”
“Until what?”
“Epiphany.” Isis said, “It’s a religious holiday that is celebrates the day that the Wise Men found Jesus to give him their gifts. I guess it doesn’t mean much to you, but it’s a big deal to me and my mom.” Isis dropped her gaze. “Dad started the tradition of celebrating all twelve days of Christmas.”
“It must be hard this time of year… when everyone is with their families.”
“It’s better then it could be.”
“Why do you say that?”
“It’s better because I have you.” Isis said playing with the stubble on his chin.
Sirius smiled. “You know there’s one last thing I wanted to give you.” He pulled a box from his pocket, I didn’t want to give it to you with everyone watching…” He said handing the box to Isis.
Isis popped open the box to find a delicate silver chain with a sapphire pendant.
“It matches your eyes.” Sirius said as Isis lifted it out of the box.
Sirius took the necklace and unclasped it. He brushed Isis’s hair out of the way and fastened the clasp.
Isis turned. “How does it look?”
“Beautiful.” Sirius mumbled. “It belonged to my uncle’s wife, but when she passed she gave it to me. So that I would have something special to give a special woman.”
Isis blushed. “Thank you Sirius.” She leaned in close and kissed him. “I meant what I said the other night…” Isis blushed again. “If you want me to…”
Sirius shook his head. “No Aye.” I would never ask you to be with me before you were ready. It’s just not right of me to ask.”
Isis pulled Sirius close. “I’m afraid to ask you to wait for me.”
“Don’t be.” Sirius whispered back. “I love you. I will wait for you.”
“I wish I didn’t have this nagging in the back of my head. I want to be with you. I never felt so strongly for anyone before…”
“…But you don’t know if I’m your true love.”
Isis blushed, “I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be. We’re young. We have our whole lives to know who we’re meant for. Let’s just be boyfriend and girlfriend for right now.”
Isis smiled and she and Sirius went back to looking out of the window as a comfortable silence fell over them.
By the next night Isis and Sirius had been out on the motor bike two more times. Sirius had offered to go to the market and get lunch and dinner and Isis went with him. When they got back with dinner a short woman with snow white hair and blue eyes was waiting in the sitting room.
“Isis!” The woman said brightly.
Isis ran into the woman’s arms. “Mom!”
Isis mother began asking her questions in rapid fire Elven. Every time she would ask something Isis would brighten as she answered.
Before long dinner was on the table and Isis put a hand on Sirius’s shoulder. “Mom I want you to meet Sirius.”
Sirius smiled and bowed. “It’s nice to meet you Your Highness.”
“It’s nice to meet you Sirius.” She said kindly. “By the way you don’t need to bow.”
Sirius straitened up and smiled faintly. “I’m sorry I don’t really know how to react.”
“It’s fine Sirius. I’ve heard wonderful things about you from Isis and Remus. In fact Isis tells me that you’ve left home.”
“Yes I have.”
Everyone sat down. “So why have you left home?” Isis’s mother prompted.
“Well my family is not very accepting of Isis and I have no intention of leaving her.”
“So you left home instead?”
“Yes.”
Isis’s mother looked at Sirius brightly.
“Let’s eat.” Remus said looking at the food greedily. Everyone began putting food on their plates and began eating everyone except Persephone.
“Isis aren’t you going to say a prayer?” Her mother asked.
Isis shifted uncomfortably. “No mom.”
Persephone looked upset, but she didn’t say anything. She just sighed and bowed her head. The dinner table buzzed with conversation on top of conversation.
In the corner Peter, Remus, and James were going over the quddich statistics. James was looking smug despite the fact that Gryffindor next match would be against Hufflepuff who was coming in second. “I can catch the snitch faster then anyone else in that school.” James said proudly.
“I don’t know.” Remus said tearing at his bread. “Hufflepuff is good and Lewis is fit.”
Peter looked into his cup. “I don’t know. James you said that Isis is a good flyer.”
“I sure am!” Isis interrupted. “Back at Liberty there wasn’t a seeker alive who could catch me.” Isis beamed.
“You couldn’t beat me.” James said.
“Don’t be so smug James.” Isis said. “I think that Lily could beat you.”
James flipped his fork between his knuckles, “Evans might beat me, but she won’t have a clue what to do with the snitch after she caught it.” James then flipped his fork into his palm and began to eat his lamb curry.
Sirius was talking to Isis’s mother about Pennsylvania and how the reconstruction was going. Sirius seemed very interested in what Persephone called mental disorder.
“No one wants to admit that their unhappiness comes from the fact that they haven’t created a mental order.”
“How do you achieve mental order?” Sirius asked. “Through knowing that you need to organize your mind?”
“Well knowing that you’re unhappy is the first step, but there is a lot to it.” Persephone said. “The next step is to get into your mind, and use it to seek truth.”
“How do you seek truths with your mind?”
“Well your mind has to be seeking truths otherwise you wouldn’t be unhappy. Plato says that a person has to know their over-ridding purpose in life or they’ll be lost and if you’re lost you’re looking for something.”
Isis looked around this was what dinner was about, family and friends gathered around the table and sharing news. Isis looked at Sirius and smiled. Sirius smiled back. After dinner Sirius sat down on the sofa and pulled Isis down next to him.
“I learned a lot tonight.” Sirius said.
“I’m glad.” Isis said.
Sirius took Isis’s hand, “Why don’t you still follow your training?”
Isis looked Sirius in the eye. “It’s hard to. You heard my mom, no one wants to get into their mind when they know that it’s out of order.”
“Isis. I want to learn. If you’re willing to try, I want you to teach me.”
Isis looked at Sirius. “You do?”
Sirius looked Isis in the eyes. “Yes I do. I know that I’m purposeless. I have no idea what I want. I’ve lived based on what my body has told me. I’ve never even tried to understand the universe. I don’t know anything other then the narrow world that I was brought up in.” Sirius looked at Isis with excitement. “I want to learn Isis. I want to understand. I want to be a part of your world. I want to be whole.”
“I was asking if you want me to teach you?”
Sirius laughed. “Yes, I want you to teach me.”
Isis touched Sirius’s face. “If we go upstairs we can have a lesson right now.”
Sirius kissed Isis’s nose. “What if I don’t want to have a mediation lesson? What if all I want is to have you.”
“Can’t have me.” Isis said coyly.
“We’ll see about that.” Sirius said. He brushed Isis’s hair away from her neck and began to kiss her. He brushed his lips over the top of her sweater and began to kiss her throat.
Isis gave a pleasurable giggle, “Still can’t have me.” She whispered.
“Oh yeah.” He said laying her down. “Let see you say no now.” He lifted her shirt and blew a raspberry on her stomach.
“No… Sirius stop…” Isis said between giggles.
Remus walked into the room. “God do you two ever stop trying to reproduce?”
Sirius straitened up, “Nope! Reproduction is fun!” He smiled impishly and went back to kissing Isis’s throat.
“Sirius stop.” Isis said, “There’s no privacy in here.”
Sirius’s eyes shot to Remus who was sitting in the corner reading. “You’re right. Let’s go upstairs.”
Remus looked up. “No.” He shut his book.
“No what?” Isis asked defiantly.
“Do not go upstairs.” Remus said
“You’re not a prefect here Remus.” Isis said. “If I want to go to my room for some privacy I will.” Isis looked at Sirius. “Do you want to come with me?”
Sirius nodded. “Yeah.”
Remus looked up and sighed. “Please don’t make me an uncle.” He said “either of you.”
Sirius clicked his tongue and flashed Remus a bright smile. “But reproduction is fun.”

In Isis’s bedroom Sirius laid Isis down and kissed her passionately. He felt Isis’s hands brush across his back to pull her curtains shut. This time he didn’t want to stop himself. He wanted to be with Isis, he wanted to be one with her.
Isis was kissing Sirius with an equal hunger and he could feel her struggling with the buttons on his shirt. Sirius pulled away. “Let me.” He said undoing his top two buttons before pulling his shirt over his head. He took Isis’s face and kissed her deeply. He knew he was lying on top of her, but Isis pulled him tighter.
Sirius put his hand under Isis’s shirt.
Isis nodded and raised her arms. Sirius tossed the sweater aside and let his hands feel the smooth fabric of her undershirt.
Sirius let his hands go up and down her torso and tried to memorize her curves. He slowly put his hands under the waistband of her pants. Sirius was beginning to feel sure that tonight would be the night Isis would let herself go… but instead Isis smacked his hand away.
“No.” she said simply.
Sirius put his hands back around Isis’s waist and kissed her. He tried to put Isis’s feelings before his own, but he found it difficult with his blood flowing in a southerly direction.
Isis wanted so badly to let herself go with Sirius. She wanted to feel the physical pleasure of being one with him. Isis desired to know him inside and out, but she felt guilty about the pleasure she felt when Sirius touched her.
Eventually Sirius was in his boxer shorts and Isis was in her bra top and jeans. Sirius was sitting at the end of Isis’s bed looking at photo’s she had taken. “Theses are good Isis.”
“Thanks.” Isis said pouring over an album she was putting together.
“I really like this one.” Sirius said picking up a cityscape. “Where is this?”
Isis looked over, “That’s New York City.”
“It’s nice.” Sirius said trying to soak up everything in the tiny image.
“I took that at dawn in Central Park.” Isis said. “I wish I could see the city again.”
Sirius sat up, “Some day when all of this is over and the Dark Lords are defeated I’ll take you to see New York.”
Isis smiled, “Do you mean it?”
“Are frogs’ butts water tight?” Sirius asked.
Isis kissed Sirius’s cheek. “I wish we could go do something.” She said laying her head on his chest. “But…”
“But what?” Sirius asked. “What do you want to do?”
“Sirius I don’t…”
“Come on darling, name anything you want to do and we’ll do it.”
“Lily was telling me about theses things called movies. I really want to go see one.”
“Movies?” Sirius asked. “What the devil are they? I’ve never even heard of them.”
