Snape\'s Choice

Chapter 15

A week later Hermione recieved some horrible news that almost broke her heart. A friend of her husbands appeared and told Severus that there was no way that he could get his wife with child.
\" I\'m sorry, but when Voldemort subjected you to that curse, it caused damage.\" Hermione wanted to cry.
\" Is there any way?\" He shook his head. \" Then that\'s it, my marriage is over.\" His friend thought about all this and then snapped his fingers.
\" Maybe not,\" he told him. Severus and Hermione both looked at him.
\" What do you mean?\"
\" Well if your wife should agree to, how should I say this-be with someone else we could do a potion that would make the child look like you. Then you wouldn\'t have to worry about Fudge trying to dissolve your marriage.\"

Severus looked shocked, another man touching his wife, he didn\'t think he could stand it. Hermione look like she was about to faint.
\" I don\'t think so,\" she blurted out. He shook his head.
\" Then Draco or another Pureblood will get her, and she will be worse off.\" Hermione sat down and looked down at the floor. All her dreams of having a child by her husband was just that, a dream. She just couldn\'t imagine another man touching her and having his child, she didn\'t know alot of boys that would do something like that for her. Suddenly Severus was next to her.

\" If this will keep us together, then I don\'t see what choice we have,\" he told her. \" But no one should know about this.\" Hermione looked at him.
\" Do you want a child this bad?\" She asked. He nodded. \" Then I will do it, but this must remain a secret.\"
\" Well then who will do this?\" The friend asked. Hermione knew the perfect person, he was her friend and she knew that he would help her out.

\" Harry I need you to do this for me,\" she begged. \" Or I go to Malfoy, or someone else.\" Harry looked at her in complete shock.
\" Wait a minute, are you telling me that your husband can\'t get you with child, so your coming to me.\" She nodded. \" Why should I do this?\"
\" Because I want a child, because I want to be a mother.\" The tears welled up in her eyes and came down. He looked at her and knew that he wouldn\'t be a friend if he didn\'t do this. He wrapped his arms around her and let her cry on his shoulder.

When she told her husband that Harry had agreed he wasn\'t thrilled but he decided that it was better then Percy.
\" I\'m going to need your strongest Lust Draught,\" she told him. \" I read about them.\" He told her that it would be ready in two days. Hermione couldn\'t believe that this was happening, and Harry had agreed that they would keep this a secret and that not even Ron would know about it.
\" I don\'t think that I could take him at this point in my life,\" Harry told her and Severus. \" He has become a problem that I can\'t take.\" A couple of days later Hermione decided to go to Professor Dumbledore to ask what he thought about how powerful a child born from her and Harry\'s union would be.

\" Well Harry is destined to be the most powerful wizard in the world, a child born from that union would be even more powerful. More powl thl then Lord Voldemort himself, but it doesn\'t matter what potion you take, it would still be Harry\'s son or daughter. He or she would be the Heir of Gryffindor and the sword of course would belong to him or her,\" he explained. \" But I also believe that you have chosen well. Harry has a good heart and I know that he wants you to be happy.\"
\" Thanks.\" And she left.
