A/N: “Someone asked if this story would make sense in the timeline and this is the reply; ‘Pay attention’. I already explained that Harry lied to get in to the army and that he was seventeen, just beat Voldemort. IF you didn’t follow that, then I’m sorry, but that’s not my fault.”

Chapter Title: Scarred Truth

Harry woke up next to Severus and wondered at his good fortune, though he couldn’t help but wonder when it would end. Everything good that had happened to him had always ended abruptly and without any warning. Except Remus but Harry couldn’t really count him because of the fact that he was a werewolf.

And Harry had nothing against werewolves, they just didn’t quite count in the natural cycle of life. Harry knew that Remus would take offense to that but he also knew that it literally was the truth. Werewolves were never supposed to have existed. Harry shook his head at the random thoughts that were circling through his head and looked down at Severus.

Whose black eyes were staring up at him. Harry smiled down at him and Severus nuzzled his chest in return.

“What were you thinking about?” Harry chuckled ruefully.

“That werewolves should never have existed.” Severus frowned as he sat up. He rubbed the side of his head and stretch, his hair sticking out slightly where he had just rubbed. Harry thought he looked really good like that.

“That’s always been debated, Harry, but no one side is winning there.” Severus commented as his gaze fell to Harry’s bared chest. The muscles rippled with every breath the man took and Severus found himself captivated by them.

“Romulus and Remus shouldn’t have been found by the wolves but by the people who knew that their mother didn’t want them.” Severus chuckled but replied;

“But according to some, the people never knew this fact and that is why it’s debated. Even in the original copy of the legend, they couldn’t make up their mind if they knew or didn’t know.” Harry sat up now, his eyes bright with joy.

“But there was that one woman who claimed to be a friend of the mother and knew how much the woman hated her sons. She knew about it and did nothing to stop it, which doesn’t sound much like anything I’ve ever heard of the ancients.” Severus could feel his mind engaging in the debate between them and replied quickly;

“Which is why many do not believe her. She doesn’t sound anything like anyone from that time era, and that alone discredits her.”

“But if the mother snuck out before the other woman could do anything about it, then werewolves truly shouldn’t have existed, but you can’t tell Remus that I said that.” Severus laughed before saying;

“Are we really debating this early in the morning?” Harry chuckled before replying;

“You know you’re enjoying it.” Severus nodded with a small smile on his face. He got up and walked towards the bathroom before restarting their debate. For the next hour, they simply sat around debating about werewolves, which both of them enjoyed. Severus was cuddled up to Harry who had his arms around the potion master when Dumbledore walked in almost two hours after the debate had begun.

“Hello, Headmaster, but seriously, Severus, the werewolves do have the ability to retain their minds but the pain refuses to allow them to, and that’s why people say that they are mad. How can we help you?” Harry asked Dumbledore, who was chuckling lightly at the part of the conversation that he had heard.

“Harry, my boy, are you really attempting to debate with Severus?”

“What’s really bad is that he has successfully beaten me on one topic today.” Severus replied for him and Harry snickered.

“It’s not my fault that you agree that the full moon has its effects on every creature, magical or not.” Dumbledore laughed before sobering up a little bit.

“Harry, it’s not good.” Harry blinked up at the older man before frowning.

“What isn’t?” In answer, Dumbledore held out a newspaper. Harry took it and, with Severus’ help, unfolded it before reading the headline;

The-Boy-Who-Lived Abused by Muggle Family

Harry gaped at the paper before continuing to read down the page. He quickly scanned through it and realized that most of the information printed was actually true. Harry groaned before flopping back onto the bed.

“How much can we pass off as false?” Dumbledore sighed before responding softly;

“None.” Harry gaped at him. “Harry, there was someone from the inside who gave this information and is already working against us, has been for about a week now.” Harry groaned again before thinking over everything.

“I’d bet that they were the ones that went through my trunk too.” Albus nodded his aged head before replying;

“I’d agree with you there, Harry, and I’ve already been contacted by Remus. Neither he nor Lucius know of anyone. Last I knew, Draco was attempting to get away from his peers, who have noticed that he was close to you, and come down here himself.” Harry sighed but nodded.

“I never thought that it might be any of them but that doesn’t leave very many options. The only other ones that I have told would be Hedwig, Hagrid, and Moody but Hagrid and Moody already knew most of it and Hedwig can’t exactly talk.” Severus was frowning but it deepened when he heard this last bit. “Hedwig’s my owl.” Severus inclined his head in agreement.

“I shall take my leave now.” Albus told them both softly before laying his hand on Harry’s shoulder. “I am sorry for this, my boy.”

“It’s not your fault that things can get away from you.” Albus nodded before leaving the two of them alone. Severus gently laid his hand on Harry’s stomach and Harry grabbed his hand. HE held onto it before taking a deep breath.

“How much of that did you read?”

“Just the title, why?” Harry sighed again.

“Because most of its true. Including the headline.” Severus stared at him and Harry sat up, releasing Severus’ hand in the process. “My uncle used to beat me on a regular basis, locking my things away from me, forcing me to do housework so he wouldn’t have to.” Harry shrugged. “I didn’t even know my own name for the longest time. I always thought it was ‘boy’ or ‘freak’. That’s what they always called me, except for my cousin. When he found out my real name, he thought it went better with ‘hunting’ and that was his favorite game.

“Harry Hunting. He and his friend would attempt to catch me and beat the crap out of me. That’s how I got so fast, I was always trying to run away from them.” Severus placed his hand against Harry’s back and felt the scars this time. He glanced at them and gaped in shock.

Long and jagged scars criss-crossed over Harry’s back, marring his natural beauty. Smaller, thin white wounds stood out against the tan skin.

Harry watched Severus take in the scars on his back.

“I know. It’s not the prettiest sight in the world…” Severus stopped him by kissing one of the smaller ones on his shoulder blade. He glanced up and saw one wound that outdid them all.

It was long and deep but almost perfectly straight, as if done by an expert. Severus ran his finger down the scar, feeling Harry shiver as Severus felt the smoothness of something foreign in Harry’s neck.

“I was in an accident whenever I was five.” Harry shrugged again and Severus knew that he wasn’t going to like what he was about to told. “My neck was broken in two places, so they put a metal plate there to keep me from re-breaking it. I shouldn’t have lived, let alone walk again.”

CubStyxx- “You know, I think I agree with Severus on this one. He really didn’t want to know that. Onward to the next one and sorry that this is so short.”
