Sometimes I Think
A new chapter!
Kazfeist - the wizards in the Alley...I always imagined that even some of the darker bits of society never liked the Malfoys. They were too 'good' to be bad...if you understand what I'm saying....
A few of you aren't going to like Lucius' reaction. But he'll be okay...
distinclyME - sorry I didn't get this chapter up sooner. I promise I'll always have my chapters up some time after midnight here...check as the day changes...
wudelfin - here's your darkness...

Molly finished mopping the blood off of Hermione’s face.
“Poor child. If one of those wretched Malfoys did this…” she warned, and then went to fetch a bone-mending potion. Fred and George had migrated into the sitting room, and were watching over Hermione. Fred spotted her bag, and bent down to pick it up.
“Hey, this is from that Apothecary near Healer Twain’s office.” He said. “What was she doing at a healer?” he asked, and gingerly opened the bag.
“Come on, Fred, that’s Mione’s business…” Harry warned. Fred glanced over at Harry.
“What if there’s something she needs to take, mate? I’d be doing her a favor by looking…” he said. Harry rolled his eyes, and walked into the kitchen to get something to drink. Fred reached inside, and pulled out one of the vials. “Hmm…multi-vitamin supplement….not useful.” He said, and reached in to pull out another vial. “Whoah….morning sickness reliever?” he said, his eyes widening slightly.
Molly came back with the potion in her hand.
“Uh..mum….I don’t know if that is a good idea…” Fred said. He sounded very serious, so Molly didn’t completely ignore him.
“Why is that, Freddie?” she asked.
“I don’t think you’re supposed to give that stuff to pregnant women…” he said. Molly looked over at Fred, who showed her the bag. She went over to him, and snatched the bag from his hands, and pulled out several vials.
“These….these are prenatal potions…for mothers-to-be…” she murmured. “Now what would Hermione be doing with these…?” she asked gently. Fred and George looked at each other.
“She must be selling them on the Black Market.” George said.
“Or maybe she’s planning on using them to synthesize some mega-poison to take out all pureblood witches and wizards…” Fred added.
“Or maybe…she’s using them.” They said in unison. Molly looked at the boys incredulously.
“Now why would she – oh!” she said, finally realizing what they were saying. She looked at Hermione on the sofa. “Oh my…Percy put her right into the serpent’s den…I bet she didn’t stand a chance…” she said softly. “Georgie…go get a blanket to put over Hermione. I guess we’ll just have to wait until the Malfoys get here, and hope one of them knows the bone-mending charm…for themselves…”
~~
“Hermione…”
She could hear a soft voice calling her name, but she felt so good and warm…she didn’t want to open her eyes.
“Hermione, wake up.”
She heard the voice again. So soft and gentle…so pleading…
She opened her eyes, and looked up at the smiling face of Narcissa Malfoy. “How are you feeling, darling?” she asked, and gently ran her hand over Hermione’s cheek. Hermione no longer felt the pain in her face, and assumed she had been healed. But then she panicked. A bone-mending potion was too strong… it would have hurt the baby.
“Shh…it’s all right. We got here before they used the potion. I used a bone-mending charm instead…relax…” she cooed, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Okay…” she mumbled. “Where am I?” she asked.
“The Burrow.” Piped Molly. “Would you like something to eat, dearie?” she asked. Hermione’s stomach gurgled in protest.
“No.” she said. Narcissa put her hand on Hermione’s stomach
“Well?”
“Yes. Five weeks.” She whispered. Narcissa could barely contain her excitement. She leaned down and kissed Hermione’s forehead. “Where’s Draco?”
“Here, Mione!” Narcissa moved aside as Draco knelt down in her place. “What happened?! We got the letter from Potter…we were all so worried! Father, Aunt Bella, and Snape all came to see if you were okay. You should have seen the look on Potter’s face when we showed up!” he said. She couldn’t help but smile.
“No one dead?” she asked.
“No, none dead.” He said softly.
“’Bout time you woke up…” she heard Bellatrix grumble. She sat up slowly, and saw that the dark witch had taken over one of the chairs in the Weasley’s sitting room She was surprised that Bellatrix seemed to be sporting the maternity jeans again. Apparently they were very comfortable. She also saw Lucius and Snape sitting in other chairs, both staring at her. Harry and Ron were standing in a doorway, watching her. She could also see Fred and George trying to look around them. Mr. Weasley was standing in a corner, and Ginny was sitting in the floor near the doorway.
“What happened?” Lucius asked.
“I was attacked. I was on the way to the Apparition point. I had just come out of the Apothecary. They grabbed me…I fought back and he hit me. Then I sent for the Aurors. They came, and Harry brought me here.” She said.
“You will not be going out in public again without an escort.” Lucius said firmly.
“I agree with Mr. Malfoy.” Said Molly, surprising everyone. “Apparently you have enemies, and those enemies plan on making life difficult for you.” She said.
“What did the Healer say?” Lucius asked. Hermione drew her lower lip into her mouth, and bit down. She then sat up at the sofa, and swung her legs down. She propelled herself off of the sofa, and looked around the room. Her eyes met Bellatrix’s, and Bellatrix nodded gently.
“Well, Mr. Malfoy…um…you know that time you….and…Narcissa…caught Draco and I kissing?” she asked, beginning to fidget.
“Eew!” Harry said, wrinkling his nose. Ginny giggled, and Ron’s face flushed with anger. He didn’t want his friend snogging Malfoy…
Lucius narrowed his eyes at her. “Yes…” he said, his grip tightening on his snake-head cane.
“Well…umm…we’ve actually done more than that…a lot more…I mean…we….went all the way….” she said. Draco’s face turned incredibly red.
“Bloody Hell…” Ron murmured.
“Ms. Granger…is there any reason you’re telling me about sexual relations between you and my son?” Lucius hissed, his voice dangerously low. He didn’t like were this was going.
“Um…well…I’m…kind of…sort of…pregnant….with Draco’s…child…..sir.”
There was a deafening and quite awkward silence that followed. Lucius stood from his seat, his grip on his cane so tight that his knuckles had begun to turn white.
“This had better be a sick joke…” he growled. Narcissa stepped beside her husband.
“Lucius…now’s not the time…”
“Did you know about this?” he snapped at his wife. Her guilty look downward told him that she had. He looked at Draco, whose face was devoid of all color, and had frozen in a strange, unreadable expression. His cold gaze turned back to Narcissa. He pointed a finger in her face. “I will deal with this later. I can’t handle it right now.” He said; his face hard and cold. Narcissa reached out to touch him, and his palm connected sharply with her cheek. She yelped. Harry stepped forward and drew his wand. There was a low, dangerous growl from one side of the room, almost animalistic in its intensity. All eyes were on Bellatrix as she tapped her wand against her leg, strange green sparks drifting from the tip.
“Don’t make that mistake again, brother…or it will be your last…” she warned, and glared at him.
“That was rude, Mr. Malfoy!” Harry said. Lucius looked at Harry, a sneer on his face. He then disappeared in a swirl of angry black smoke.
Death Eater Apparition. That meant he was not only upset….he was pissed.
“Wh….what?” Came the timid question from Draco.
“Bit behind there, mate…” George said.
“You….pregnant…..baby….mine?” he stumbled over his words.
“A bit of eloquence from the Slytherin Prince…” Fred teased.
“Are you okay with this, Draco?” Hermione asked, her voice breaking from nerves.
Draco looked at her and tilted his head. “Me….father?” he asked. Hermione nodded, and he gave a nervous laugh, and then fell to the floor in a dead faint.
George put his hand up to his mouth and imitated the static hiss of a radio.
“Serpent down! I repeat, Serpent down!”
