Ok, here it is, the wedding you’ve all been waiting for: Harry and Lucius.
I know this one took me a few days to write and post but I think it’s worth it.
This one takes place on the 15th of December, in Godric’s Hollow church.
*********************
For the first time in months, Harry woke up alone in bed. He was in a lavish hotel room between black sheets. Onyx, under instruction by Lucius, had made sure that Harry had wanted for nothing in this room, he even had a bed across the room with Hermione and Ron asleep in it.
But Lucius was asleep in a room which wasn’t this one, and Harry hadn’t slept more than two hours without him.
He slipped from the bed and pulled on a dressing gown, leaving the room and walking down the hall to the suite where his children lay. Albus and James lay sleeping soundly in their beds, Scorpius the same but Lily was not in her bed.
Harry panicked. Where would she go? If Lily woke up with a nightmare, hell if any of his children did, they crept into his bed and waited for him to chase the darkness away.
But Lily had not crept into his bed. He peaked into The room containing Hugo, no Lily. She wasn’t with Rose, or Teddy and Victoire. Harry was starting to loose his composure. He walked back to his room, the sun was just beginning to rise.
“What? What’s wrong?” Hermione said as Harry shook her awake.
“I can’t find Lily. She’s not in her bed.”
“Ronald Weasley, wake up. Your niece is missing,” Hermione commanded, flicking Ron’s nose.
Ron and Hermione were out of bed and in full fight mode within 15 seconds. The three of them split up and took a direction each.
Harry crept into Percy and Draco’s room. He shook Draco gently.
“Harry? Are you ok?” Draco said sleepily.
“No. Did Lily come to you two in the night?”
“No. Why?”
“She’s not in her bed, nor is she in mine or her brothers. I can’t find her.”
“Have you checked Andie’s room?”
“Ron’s doing that.”
“You want me to help you look?”
“Could you?”
“Sure.”
Draco removed himself from Percy’s embrace and followed Harry out of the room to be met by Andie and George with Ron.
“Any luck?” Harry asked.
“She didn’t come to us Harry. But she won’t have gone far,” George said.
Hermione came into view with Lucius trailing behind her. In his arms was Lily.
He handed Harry his daughter. “She forgot you wouldn’t be with me. I woke up with her curled around me about five minutes ago. Then Hermione came and said Lily was missing,” Lucius said.
Hermione and Ron went back to bed, as did Draco, Andie and George. Harry and Lucius tucked Lily up in Harry’s bed, where she curled herself around a pillow, her dragon teddy clutched in her hand.
Harry and Lucius moved back to Lucius’ room. “I couldn’t sleep,” Harry admitted as he and Lucius lay on the bed, facing each other.
“Me neither. I’d only been asleep about an hour when I was woken by Hermione,” Lucius said, running his fingers along Harry’s side. “We’re getting married today.”
“Indeed. Nervous?”
“No. I love you Harry. How could I be nervous about marrying you?” Lucius said. He paused, gazing at Harry, his eyes travelling over his features. “Are you nervous?”
“When I married Ginny I was terrified. I was sure that I was making a mistake, and yet I married her anyway. But now, being with you, knowing that you love me, I have no doubts. I’m not at all nervous.”
Lucius leaned in and kissed his mate. They pulled apart when they heard the sound of someone throwing up.
*************************
Lucius and Harry stood in George and Andie’s room.
George walked out of the bathroom. “Lucius, she’s really ill. She needs a healer,” George said.
Lucius walked to the fireplace and threw in a handful of floo powder, calling his personal healer.
A few moments later a wizard by the name of Jenkins walked out of the fire, brushing soot off his green robes. He had chocolate skin and a deep soothing voice. His hands were large and the nails short, the skin soft.
He was about to say something when he heard the retching from the bathroom. He nodded at Lucius and walked into the bathroom. Lucius and Harry stood in the doorway.
“Hello Princess, five years and I get called for a tummy bug? I was sure it’d be something serious, knowing it was a Malfoy that needed me,” Jenkins joked. Andie looked up at him and managed a half smile before retching again.
Jenkins looked up at George. “Anthony Jenkins. I’ve been healing Malfoy’s since Lucius was a boy. I take it you’re married to the Princess?” he said, pulling out his wand.
“Yes. I’m George.”
“Right. Now, when did this start?”
“Umm, about an hour ago. She told me that it’d go away,” George hastily explained to Lucius, who was glaring at him.
“Calm down, father, I told him not to do anything,” Andie rasped from the floor.
Anthony smirked. He waved his wand in an intricate movement, muttering spells under his breath, and smiled a wide happy smile.
“She’s fine,” Anthony said, exiting the bathroom, and pulling bottles of potions out of his bag, which he had left by the fireplace.
Harry looked at him incredulously. “Fine? That is not fine!” he said harshly.
“Actually, it is. It’s morning sickness. Congratulations Lucius, you’re going to be a grandfather again,” Anthony said before walking back into the bathroom with a bottle of blue liquid.
Harry and Lucius looked at each other. They waited until the retching stopped and Anthony left after leaving instructions.
“Well, that I certainly didn’t expect,” Harry said. “You’re going to be a grandfather Luce.”
“Correction, we are going to be grandfather’s. She’s going to be your daughter as well after today,” Lucius said, and then smirked at the look of sudden realisation and shock on his lovers face.
******************************
Harry stood in the church dressing room, waiting for the time when his son would walk with him up the aisle to get married. He was wishing it was a different James Potter leading him up the aisle. Remus wouldn’t be here, nor Sirius. He wished that it was Dumbledore who would be standing at that alter marrying them.
Harry suddenly felt the walls closing in on him, chocking him, making his head spin. ‘Oh God, this is it, I’m dying, I’m having a heart attack in a church,’ he thought as his heart pounded in his chest.
He was desperately trying to take in a full breath when he found himself pulled out into the graveyard behind the church by Draco.
He took a deep shuddering breath, and then another and another, until he felt that maybe we wasn’t going to die after all.
“Are you alright?” Draco asked as Harry leant on him. Harry nodded.
“What the fuck just happened?” Harry said shakily.
“Panic attack.”
“But I’m not worried about marrying your father.”
“What were you thinking of when it started?”
“Dumbledore should be the one marrying us, Remus, Sirius, Tonks. All of them should be here. My parents.” The last bit was a whisper.
Draco was silent for a moment. “You know, I wanted my mother at my wedding to Percy. Just because I killed her doesn’t mean I don’t regret it. I regret that her hate had to end it that way.”
“I wish it was my father walking me down the aisle. I want my mother to be the one to hug Lucius and tell him welcome to the family, instead I get the Weasley’s. I don’t even get to have my godfather to see me marry the man I love,” Harry said sadly.
“Come with me,” Draco said, taking Harry by the hand and leading him further into the graveyard. He walked straight up to the graves of Harry’s parents, and Remus and Tonks, buried right beside them.
“They’re here. Maybe not in body, but they are here. And I know that they would be so fucking proud of you. All of them,” Draco said.
Truthfully, he had been standing here moments before he went in to see if Harry was ready. He wanted to see where is soon to be stepfather had come on his journey for the Horcruxes. Hermione had confided in Draco that Harry had visited their graves for the first time after he had come of age. When she had told him that, and all the other things that Harry had faced and dealt with, Draco suddenly felt all his old schoolboy gripes about Potter fade away.
“Hermione told me, about what you had to do to get rid of him. About the first time you came here. About your family. And I wanted to say I’m sorry for what I did to you when we were at school. I was out of line and you never deserved it,” Draco said.
Harry looked at him and smiled. “I think I can get married now. I think I have enough family now to make up for them not being here,” Harry said and the two of them made their way inside.
**********************
The theme for this wedding had been diversity and unity. Lucius stood at the alter waiting for his mate in a deep green Muggle suit. Draco was wearing the same, standing next to his father in the place of the Best Man. Andie stood beside him in a red dress with Scorpius beside her in a green suit like his father and grandfather. All three males had mistletoe in their buttonholes.
As the music began all eyes turned to the end of the alter. First came Lily, in a dress of deep green, identical to Andie’s in all but colour. Then came Albus, ring barer, in robes of a deep red, mistletoe in his buttonhole. Then came James and Harry.
They were both in robes of deep red with mistletoe in the buttonholes. James was taller than Harry now, and as he led his dad down the aisle, the guests could see the man he was becoming.
Harry had had his eyes corrected so his emerald orbs shone straight through to Lucius.
They reached the alter and Lucius bowed to James and kissed his hand as a mark of respect. James blushed and went to join his brother and sister standing beside his father.
Kingsley Shacklebolt, the Minister for Magic and long term friend of Harry Potter, stood up at the alter and began to speak in his deep soothing voice.
“Friends, relatives, loved ones. We are here today to witness the bonding of two very special people: Lucius Malfoy and Harry Potter. Though these two were once enemies they have shown us all that unity is possible and the most unlikely of things can still happen.”
Lucius smirked at Harry, and Harry knew exactly what Lucius was thinking: if it was weird, unlikely, unpleasant, painful or downright impossible it would happen to Harry.
As Kingsley opened his mouth to speak again Andie ran from the church followed by an apologetic looking George.
“Mrs Malfoy Weasley asked me to announce to you all that she and her husband are expecting their first child in June. Though she did want it announced as the reception,” Kingsley said with a smile and the guests relaxed. “Now, is there anyone who objects to this union?” Silence. “Good. Now, Mr Malfoy, please turn to Mr Potter and repeat after me.”
Lucius turned to Harry and recited the pledge of his love. “All that I am and all that I have, I offer to you in love and in joy. From this day forward I will love and comfort you, hold you close, prize you above all others, and remain faithful to you all the days of our lives.”
Harry looked at Lucius and repeated after Kingsley. “All that I am and all that I have, I offer to you in love and in joy. From this day forward I will love and comfort you, hold you close,
prize you above all others, and remain faithful to you all the days of our lives.”
Albus came forward with the rings at Kingsley’s command. Kingsley looked at Lucius and noticed Andie and George return to their places. “Mr Malfoy, if you would recite your personal vows while placing the ring on Harry’s finger.”
Lucius took the simple gold band and slid it onto Harry’s finger as he spoke. “I am proud to marry you this day. I promise to wipe away your tears with my laughter, and your pain with my caring and my compassion. We will wipe out the old canvases of our lives and let God, with His amazing artistic talent, fill them with new colour, harmony and beauty. I give myself to you completely, and I promise to love you always, from this day forth.”
Kingsley motioned to Harry to do the same. It looked like he was about to cry with a silly smile on his face. “Harry, recite your vows while placing the ring on Lucius’ finger.”
“Whatever lies ahead, good or bad, we will face together. Distance may test us for a time, and time may try us. But if we look to each other first, we will always see a friend. Lucius, look to me for all the days to come; today I take my place as your husband,”Harry said as he slipped the ring onto his mate’s finger.
Kingsley was actually crying as he finished the ceremony. “It is with great honour and happiness that I pronounce you bonded for as long as the love dwells between you. I give you all Lord and Master Potter Malfoy. You may seal your vows,” Kingsley said, and as Harry and Lucius kissed a bright blue light surrounded all the Potter’s and Malfoy’s, binding them together.
When the two of them broke apart, Harry realised that Lucius had been right. He looked at Draco and Andie and saw them the same way he saw James and Albus and Lily. They were his, his children, his to protect.
And this was their family.
**********************
Well, here it is, the wedding of Lucius and Harry.
Lucius is now Lord Potter Malfoy, and Harry is Master Potter Malfoy, because Harry is younger.
Now, I did have a little help for the vows because I couldn’t seem to find anything that fit, so I used the wonder of the internet!
http://www.myweddingvows.com/non-traditional-wedding-vows
I can’t remember the ones I used but they all came from this site.
So, what did you think?
I really did mean it when I said they would be their children after the wedding. And before you ask, Andie and George did not get a glow because they did not have children yet, and Percy and Draco already had it, they bonded when they first slept together, Percy has always seen Scorpius as his.
Please review and tell me what you think, I am dying to know. I love all my reviews and I can honestly say they are the only thing keeping me going with this fic.
So if you want more you’ll have to review to get it.
Hope you like the story so far.
I’m now taking votes on Andie and George’s baby. Do you want it to be a girl or a boy? And you can also vote for twins, but no more than that, no more than twins.
You can also give me suggestions for names, but I need a meaning for it.
Have fun!
I know this one took me a few days to write and post but I think it’s worth it.
This one takes place on the 15th of December, in Godric’s Hollow church.
