Love and Mistletoe

Ok so here is the next Chapter. I am going to give you all one more as an apology for my mix-up. So R&R and enjoy.

~Chapter fifteen: Love and Mistletoe~

Isis wasn’t having a very good time either. From the moment she got to her aunt and uncle’s house her Aunt Lyn did nothing, but ask questions about what made her think she could just go to Liberty.
Her Uncle George tried to calm his wife down, but Aunt Lyn wasn’t listening to reason. Isis went up to her loft room and drew the curtains to her alcove and lay on her bed. She took her picture of her father and pinned it to the curtain. She wished she were back at Hogwarts with Sirius. Remus came into the room looking upset.
“Aye…”
“Isis poked her head out from the curtain. “Yeah Rem?”
“If I asked Dumbledore of you and Sirius could have some time to yourselves from time to time would you be happier?”
Isis looked at her cousin skeptically, “My happiness shouldn’t be wrapped up in Sirius.”
“Don’t give me the shouldas. Would you be happier?”
Isis nodded, “I really like him Remus.”
Remus sat on Isis’s bed. “I knew you would. I’m glad that you’re finally in a good relationship.” Remus sighed, “Isis I know this year has been hard you. Between your dad, moving, and Severus… but my parents are trying to help. Mum thinks that you aren’t being honest with yourself. She thinks that you haven’t really accepted that your father is gone. However… dad thinks your just running from responsibility.”
Isis sighed, “I’ve completely forgotten everything I was taught as a child. I can’t get into my mind. I don’t want to. The only problem is a locked door keeps you from cleaning a messy room.”
Remus smiled, “Then it seems to me that you need a key.” He smiled wider. “Dad will help you, he was raised in the same training as you were.”
Isis smiled, “Do you really think he’ll help me.”
Remus looked at his cousin and shook his head, “Yes.”
Isis was in the garden practicing swords with her uncle. Isis’s Daisho set had been buried in her second trunk, but when she unsheathed her sword she felt a kind of renewal that she only got from training. Isis and Uncle George practiced all morning until Aunt Lyn called them in claiming they’d catch their death if they didn’t.
Isis came inside and washed up only to find James and Sirius standing in the hall. Isis felt herself blush; she was standing in a pea green towel and nothing else. She could feel Sirius’s eyes staring at the scars across her chest and arms. She didn’t look up at Sirius, or turn around. She knew he’d see the scars on her back too. Isis had gotten most of them when Dodmorderen had attacked her family.
Finally she heard Sirius and James move out of the hall. Isis went up to the loft and got dressed very quickly. She put on plum robes and charged back down the stairs and got her first good look at Sirius.
“Oh my God. Sirius… what happened?”
Sirius looked back at her. “It’s nothing I got into a scrape is all.”
Isis looked at his face. “Who were you fighting? A woolly mammoth?” She smiled and very gently brushed his hair away from a cut just above his eye.
Sirius flinched and took Isis’s hand. “It’s nothing darling.”
As Christmas got closer and closer so did Isis and Sirius. On the twentieth Isis had gotten out of bed because she had her usual nightmare and Sirius stayed up with her all night.
Isis told Sirius about her father and her nightmare and how it was her fault that he had died. Sirius had taken her in his arms and assured her that no one was blaming her, because she couldn’t help the feelings that she had had for David.
“Isis, no one can help who they fall for. I mean I fell for you when my parents would much rather I was with a pure-blood girl.”
“Well, there aren’t many of them are there?”
“Oh, there’s a few, but I don’t love them.”
Isis looked at him with a calculating look. “That’s where all those injuries came from isn’t it. You had a fight with your mother.”
“My father actually.” Sirius said tetchily.
Isis blushed, “I don’t want you to get hurt on my account.”
Sirius cupped her face. “Isis, I don’t care what they think. The only family that matters to me is James and his family. They’ve taken me in until I can get on my own two feet. I should have left London years ago.”
Isis smiled and picked up Sirius’s hand and examined it closely.
“What are you doing?” Sirius asked with surprise.
“Palmistry.” Isis answered simply. “It’s difficult, what ever your dad did to you it was nasty. I can hardly see the lines for the cuts.
Sirius took his hand and undid Isis’s robe. To his surprise she didn’t protest. He gently pushed her robe off her shoulder and saw the scars on her arm, just above the sleeve. “You’ve seen some nasty scrapes too.”
Isis ducked her head a bit and kissed Sirius’s neck tenderly.
Sirius pushed her robe off entirely and kissed every inch his lips could reach. He began to unbutton Isis’s nightgown when she put her hands over his. “I can’t. Not yet.”
Sirius put his forehead to hers. “I understand.”
Isis kissed Sirius forehead and pulled the gown over her head. “I want to be with you Sirius, but I cant.”
Sirius looked at her. She was wearing a purple skintight top that exposed her chest and black boxer shorts. He put his hands on her breasts and carefully messaged them. He took his shirt off and lay next to Isis. He was still kissing every inch of skin he could find, but so was Isis. When he kissed her nipple outside of her shirt Isis gave a shudder and wrapped her knees around Sirius waist.
Sirius had never felt such a surge as he did when he accidentally rubbed against Isis’s inner thigh. He stopped himself; it wasn’t fair to take advantage of Isis. He knew that Isis couldn’t sleep with him. She had just explained it less then an hour before.
Isis looked up at him, “I would break my vows for you Sirius.”
Sirius put his arms back around her waist. “I know you would. God help me I sometimes wish you would, but your first time… It should be important. I don’t want you to go back on any promises for an hour worth of passion. You might regret it later Isis.”
“How old were you… on your first time.”
Sirius sighed, “Thirteen.”
Isis looked up at Sirius in amazement. “Did you care about her?"
“No.” Sirius answered simply. He looked around the room for a moment then continued, “Mum wanted me to get to know this pure-blood girl that I despised and well… I was still a boy I wanted to read or spend time with my friends… I had thought about sex before of course, but never imagined doing it. Anyway this girl she was messing with my things… she almost broke my model T. I asked her what I could do to make her go away. She grabbed me and laid me on my bed. She took off my robes then hers and I flipped… It was foolish, now I find it so hard to wait until a girl is ready…” Sirius took both of Isis’s hands, “But you’re different. Isis I would wait a life age of the earth for you.”
“You’ve read Tolkien!” Isis said pointing a finger into Sirius’s chest.
Sirius smiled. “I read it a few months ago. When you told me about how you based your philosophy on it and how it raised questions… I saw that it changed your life. I wanted to have a share in that.”
Isis smiled broadly. “You are a playboy Sirius Black. Why would you want to read about Frodo and the ring?”
Sirius took a candle wreath from Isis’s bedside and put it on her head, “Because you’re my Arwen.”
Isis flung her arms around Sirius. “That is the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.”
“Wait until I get you under the mistletoe.” Sirius said before kissing her earlobe.
The next few nights Sirius would sneak into Isis’s room and they would stay up all night talking. One night they actually had an argument about whether or not the ents were really fighting for justice.
“It’s just like America in world war two.” Sirius said. “The muggles were asking for help from Americans and the muggle president didn’t do anything until his home turf was invaded.”
Isis shrugged, “But to the average muggle American at that time there was no use for a war. It was the middle of the great depression… besides ents are peace loving. They’re guardians of the trees and they fought for vindication which is a form of Justice.”
“So you’re saying that the ents were perfectly moral in ignoring the world that they lived in just to have some peace and quiet.”
Isis opened her mouth to argue, but Sirius cut her off.
“And their justice continued when they put a hit out on the most despised person in Middle Earth, anyone could have destroyed Isenguard. Treebeard just got lucky.”
“I wouldn’t say that the ents put out a hit on Sauruman that was the hobbits.” Isis said.
Sirius laughed heartily, “you know what? You’re absolutely right. I still think it’s funny… little three foot people helping to kill a powerful wizard.”
On Christmas eve Sirius stayed downstairs and Isis came down around two.
Isis was sneaking into the kitchen to make some chamomile tea when Sirius sat up in his sleeping bag. “Are you all right Aye?”
“I can’t sleep.” She admitted.
Sirius lay on his side. “I have some room in here come on.”
Isis climbed into the sleeping bag and felt Sirius’s arm wrap around her. Isis felt safe for the first time in six months. For the first time since her father died Isis slept peacefully.
On Christmas morning James was the first one awake. Sirius woke up soon after him and pressed a finger to his lips. He folded the sleeping bag down and showed James that Isis was asleep.
Isis had wormed her way down to so that her head was against Sirius’s chest. She turned her head toward Sirius’s body and gave an uncomfortable grunt.
James smiled. “You get lucky?” he whispered.
Sirius smiled and shook his head. “No. She can’t. So I’m waiting.”
James shrugged. And put his nose in an arithmomancy book.
Sirius lie back down and put his arm around Isis again. He felt a great need to protect her since she had told him about Dodmorderen’s attack on her family.
He had tried to imagine what it must have been like, but he couldn’t. Isis had described it with such vivid detail yet… He closed his eyes. He saw Isis climbing into bed and reading before putting out her candle. But as she reached to snuff it, something shook the house…
Sirius opened his eyes again. He would never let anything bad happen as long as he was around. He didn’t want Isis to ever suffer again. After a few minutes Peter woke up, Remus had emerged from his room and his mother and father weren’t far behind.
They all shared a nice breakfast and Sirius slipped his hand into Isis’s under the table. Mrs. Lupin had out done herself this time. She had made fried potatoes and bacon for Isis and portage and kippers for everyone else. But in the center of the table there were plates of eggs, toast, and fruits. Isis and Sirius helped themselves to a few plumbs when no one else did.
Sirius increased the pressure of his grip when everyone decided to get up and open presents. Isis smiled at him and he saw a trace of mischief in her eyes.
“Actually one came for you early this morning Sirius.” Mrs. Lupin said before anyone opened their packages. “But I think you should look at that last.”
“Who’s it from?” Sirius asked handing a gift to Peter.
“It’s from your cousin Andromedia and her husband.” Mr. Lupin said, but I agree with Lyn you should look at it last.”
Sirius looked at Remus, but Remus was just as clueless and shrugged.
Remus opened the gift from his parent’s first and stared unblinkingly into the box. “Thanks.” He said more hoarsely then usual. “I’ve been wanting this book for a long time.” He added lifting out leather bound book called So you’ve become a werewolf. A guide to unusual potions and antidotes.
Sirius grinned. “I don’t know, I think it might be interesting to see if that pulls up your potions grade. If it does I want to borrow it.”
Everyone laughed.
Remus eventually had opened everything including the wolfsbane plant from Isis and Peter went next.
Peter got a set of gobblestones from his parents, boxes of sweets from James, Sirius, Remus, and Isis and a pair of socks from his older brother.
James got his usual broom care kit from his mother and father, and sweets from Peter, and Remus, but Sirius and Isis’s gifts stood out. Sirius gave him a dagger and Isis gave him an Orange wizard’s hat with a turtle that moved around on it (At the moment it was wondering around the rim).
Isis received art supplies from her mother, a new kendo sword from her aunt and uncle, a miniature roaring panther from Remus, sweets from Peter, a book of pictures of Isis’s friends from James, and a silver hair comb from Sirius.
Sirius tore through his presents wondering what was waiting for him. He got sweets from Peter, a quddich poster from Remus, a miniature toy Nimbus from James and a toy model motorbike from Isis.
“James told me you wanted one, shame you can’t have a real one.”
Sirius shrugged. “It’s no big deal. I’ll get one eventually.” He looked up and saw that Mr. and Mrs. Lupin were shaking with silent laughter.
“Come with us.” Mr. Lupin said opening the front door. Isis bounded behind him.
Sirius went slack jawed and he heard Isis mutter “Holy Bludgers.” Behind him. Sitting in the driveway was a motorbike.
“Wow.” He finally said.
“There’s a card.” Mrs. Lupin said handing him an envelope.
Hey there Sirius,
Ted and I want to say how proud we are of you for standing up to your parents and want to make up for all the years that we missed out on seeing you. It’s hard to believe that you’re sixteen now, we hope you enjoy the bike.
-Andromedia, Ted, and Nymphoderia Tonks
Sirius dug into the envelope and pulled out a key. He smiled broadly. “Hey Aye. What do you reckon?” He asked jingling the key.
“Hell yes!” Isis said
Sirius and Isis climbed onto the bike. “You’re next James.” He yelled over the engine.
“Isis! Take a jacket!” Aunt Lyn yelled but Isis wrapped her arms around Sirius’s waist and they took off like a rocket. Sirius tried every gear and before long they were going 120 kilometers per hour.
“What do you think Isis?” Sirius yelled.
“I love it.” She yelled back. “It’s just like flying.”
