chapter 14

Ron entered his house, and sat beside Pansy on the couch. Together they finished going over RSVPs. They didn’t make a seating chart, they just made sure there was enough room for those who were bringing dates or coming alone.

Ron worked with Misty in the garden, preparing it for the reception. The arch was done with two big trees in the yard. He had owled his brother and gotten the spells to move table and chairs for the receptions. They would also have a dance floor that would appear as well.

Misty prepared dinner for the couple as preparations were set for tomorrow. Ron was satisfied at the arrangement of chairs before the arch. He gave the incantation and the chairs vanished and tables appeared on a dance floor. With the blooms that Neville would add, the gardens would look wonderful.

As they sat to dinner, Pansy was quiet. He knew she wanted to ask.

‘Would you like a pensieve?” He asked. She didn’t say anything for a moment.

“No, I don’t think I want one.” She said. She continued with her dinner. Ron knew he had to tell her. If her parents showed up, he didn’t want her surprised.

“Love?” He said. Pansy looked up waiting. “I invited your parents.’ He said quietly.

Pansy froze. She looked up with huge eyes. “You what?”

“I invited your parents to the wedding.” He repeated.

Her eyes shifted about then back to Ron. “Why?”

“It seemed right. They are your parents after all.” That was the only reason he could think of. He still didn’t know what possessed him, or what answer seemed to be the right one.

Pansy was silent for several minutes. He watched her face. She seemed unsure of several things. Eventually she said nothing, and merely called for Misty to clear the dishes.

Ron let her have a moment then followed her to the bedroom. Pansy had their clothes unwrapped and using her wand, pressed them perfectly. She was overly concerned with one of the cuffs of his shirt.

“I think that sleeve is fine love.” He walked in and took a seat on the bed, watching her. She dropped the sleeve and sat down next to him. “What is it?” He asked gently.

“Did my father say he would come on Friday?” She asked, looking at the ground.

“He didn’t say either way. If he does, then he does, if not then it won’t matter.” Ron wrapped his arms around her and drew her into his lap. “I’ll be there. I’ll be the one in black waiting at the arch.” She smiled at him and leaned in for a kiss.
