Sectum Sempra

“YOU TOLD MY FATHER!!” Albus was horrified as he listened to his cousin recount the events that had transpired within the Auror’s office. Albus Potter sat down at a desk situated in the attic bedroom that had once been home to his Uncle and Rose’s father. He was a scrawny boy of eleven with messy black hair and his grandmother’s green eyes. He was the only one of the three Potter children to have the green eyes that his father and his grandmother were so prized for.

“Yes. I told him. I had to tell him something Al. He knew something was up the minute I ran into the room and he was going to probably put Mr. Malfoy in Azkaban. I couldn’t just let that happen and you know it.” Rose Weasley flipped her long red hair over her shoulder and flashed her brown eyes angrily. This was not the time or the place to be discussing why she had revealed their shenanigans to her Uncle, nor was this the time for her to be arguing with her cousin.

Scorpius sat on the bed and watched the argument of the relatives as they bickered back and forth. He watched Rose move and punch Albus out of the chair and onto the floor. It was astonishing to him just how much she looked like her mother and just how beautiful she looked when she was angry. Not that he loved her or was attracted to her like that. She was just a pretty girl that was his good friend and the best person to argue about Muggle Studies with.

“Not to interrupt this common arguing, but shouldn’t we be planning how to save your mother?” Scorpius posed to the two. They turned and looked at him for a moment, observing the fierce bruises and cuts on his face which Scorpius did not appreciate. Rose’s gaze softened at his words and she went over to the bed and sat down next to him, laying her head against his chest.

“The Order is downstairs trying to figure out the best course of events to follow. Mum and Dad are talking with Teddy and all of our Uncles. Aunt Andy is here, Professor McGonagall and all of the other order members. It’s like a big conference, only without the happiness of Christmas dinner.” Albus rubbed his arm, but remained on the floor where Rose had thrown him. Everything seemed to be going in a blur.

“What do you think they are talking about?” Scorpius questioned aloud, hugging Rose’s small frame to him and rubbing her shoulders softly. Everything seemed to be falling down around them. First the attack at the school, them Rose’s father is killed by Scorpius’s mother and now this. It was almost as if the war their parents had fought so many years ago had never ended. As if it had only paused for a moment and now that Albus was old enough, the war was continuing.

The history of their families hadn’t ended with the death of the Dark Lord Voldemort. In fact, it seemed like it had remained the same. James, Lilly, Molly, Arthur, Lucius and Narcissa fought or assisted in the fight against Voldemort, leaving Mr. Potter an only child and sending Voldemort into remission. Eleven years later, when Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco went off to Hogwarts, Voldemort returned with a vengeance. And now, nineteen years after Mr. Potter defeated Voldemort, the war had returned to plague the grandchildren of the original six couples from the opening of the war. When was this going to end?

“LILLY! GET OUT!” Albus jumped up from the floor and strode toward the bedroom door. There quivering in the doorway was Lily Potter, the youngest of the Potter children. She had very light red hair that looked very similar to Rose’s and she had dark brown eyes just like Ginny. She shook her head and whined as Albus slammed the door to lock her out and make sure that she didn’t overhear any of their conversations.

“I swear that child wants to do everything that I do. She drives me insane sometimes.” Albus walked back toward the desk chair and sat down staring up at the snowy owl in its small cage. Selwyn stared back at him with her wide eyes and hooted softly. Albus slammed his face down toward the desk.

“You know, when you are nice to your sisters, they might just have something important to tell you.” A soft female voice echoed from the doorway of the attic. All three turned immediately and gazed on the face of a brilliantly beautiful dark skinned teenager. Kyrie Zabini walked into the room followed closely by James. She walked across the room and sat next to Scorpius on the bed and glared at Rose. The two of them were very much enemies despite her friendship with James.

“Zabini.” Scorpius whispered.

“Malfoy.” She responded.

“Kyrie. What are you doing her?” Rose was stunned as she watched the young woman touch Scorpius gently on the arm. Regardless of blood status, Kyrie made many boys at Hogwarts cum their pants when she walked by. Although Rose was not attracted to Scorpius, she was very defensive when another woman would come and try to touch him. James was very ignorant of the seductive influences of Kyrie and sat himself next to his younger cousin and stared at Albus angrily.

“You know my parents are good friends with the Malfoys. Plus, we are a part of the Order, just as you are.” The black woman’s voice was as smooth as silk and made even Rose jealous. Scorpius however, did not want to hear anything from the thirteen year old Goddess.

“What do you want? I mean. This is Albus’s room.”

“It’s James’s room too. I have every right to be in my best friend’s room, don’t I?” Kyrie wasn’t going to let a little comment like that affect her presence, but before she could make another comment or touch Scorpius again, Rose flew off the handle. She jumped off her cousin’s bed, flinging out her wand and pointing it at Kyrie.

“GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF SCORPIUS! JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE FUCKING MY COUSIN DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO TOUCH HIM!”

“I have every right to touch anyone I want.” And with that Kyrie leaned over and pressed her voluptuous body against Scorpius and kissed him viciously, throwing her tongue into his mouth. Rose was enraged.

“SECTUM SEMPRA!!!” The flash of light hit Kyrie square in the chest, sending her flying backward and out the window of the room. The blood from her body erupted from the severe wounds and Rose watched as the bleeding teenager flew out the window and down almost five stories. The sound of her body hitting the snow covered ground below was deafening and James and Albus ran to the window to look at what had become of the elder Zabini child. Scorpius however, stared at Rose with horror and watched as the anger on her face turned to horror. Her wand hand shook as she saw the amount of blood that was now staining Albus’s bed and she turned and vomited in the corner. Scorpius, covered in Kyrie’s blood simply stared, completely shocked at what had just occurred.

“Holy shit Rose.” James whispered as he stared horrified out of the window. Albus turned and looked at her.

“Oh my God. This isn’t good…this…this really isn’t good.”

Silence filled the room for a moment and they listened to the commotion downstairs as the adults realized that the thud they had just heard was one of the children falling from the attic window. After a few moments, the silence was shattered by a blood curdling scream that echoed throughout the house and through most of the countryside.

“MY BABY!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD MY BABY!” Pansy Parkinson-Zabini screamed as she flew out of the back door and out to Kyrie’s unconscious body. She was bleeding profusely and several of her bones were sticking out from her arms and legs. The adults were busy running around trying to make sure the child was alive. Pansy was knelt beside her daughter sobbing and screaming hysterically and Blaise was attempting to keep her from having a mental break down as he watched the scene of his daughter’s body in the white garden.

“I…I have to go.” And with that Rose threw out her wand and disapparated. Scorpius was left stunned and bloody sitting on the bed. Rose had just run away. She was gone. And what was worse was the fact that no one had gone with her. The sound of footsteps echoing up the staircase made the boys turn toward the door as Harry, George and Draco ran full force into the room. The sight that met them made Harry and Draco speechless.

The small room with the sloped ceiling was covered in Kyrie’s blood. The bed sheets went from being a shocking shade of vibrant orange to a muddy brick colour that spread in thick splatter where the sword-like cuts had bled her out. The floor and ceiling were spattered with blood from where the force of her being thrown backward had slung her fluids across the room. The orange valence and curtains that hung around the broken window were waving in the cold breeze of the winter and glass covered the headboard of the bed and littered the windowpane. Parts of Kyrie’s delicate yellow sweater were caught on the glass.

“I remember this curse…” Draco whispered looking at Harry who in turn looked at him. It had been twenty years, but Draco still had the scars from where Harry had cursed him with Snape’s famous slasher curse. Harry ran to James and shook him slightly, obviously enraged.

“JAMES SIRIUS POTTER YOU BETTER TELL ME WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED OR ELSE I WILL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO SHAKE ABOUT!!” Hearing the screams of his father’s voice still didn’t encourage James to talk. He was speechless. Harry turned to the other boys in the room and caught sight of his other son.

“I WANT TO KNOW WHAT WENT ON HERE AND I WANT TO KNOW IT NOW! JAMES…ALBUS…YOU!!!!” Harry was fuming and blazing. This was the angriest any of the boys and even Draco had ever seen him.

“Scorpius. What happened?” Draco asked his son calmly and Harry turned to Draco’s son. He had obviously been the one closest to Kyrie when it happened. He was saturated in her blood and was sitting at the edge of the bed with a sickly pale colour on his face that made the blood on his face an even more violent shade of red. He shook his head and looked up at his father who held an amazingly calm tone for a man who was as furious or more than his Auror counterpart.

“Rose. She…she…she’s gone.” That was all the boy could say, but it was enough for Harry to flip out.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S GONE? WHERE IS SHE GONE TO?” Harry was shocked and stunned and the boys were equally as shocked. Scorpius just held his head in his arms and sobbed. The sight of his son crying brought back horrible memories that made Draco almost heartbroken. It hadn’t been that long ago that he had watched his child cry for the loss of his Grandmother and then his mother. Draco ushered for his son and held the bloody boy in a tight embrace as he tried to soothe him out of hysterics.
“She just…disapparated.” Albus spoke softly and walked toward his own father who held out his arms and wrapped the eleven year old tight in his grasp. James was stronger than the younger kids, but at the same time he had just watched his younger cousin blast his best friend out of a window and slash her up like a piece of meat on a cutting board. He watched his father hold his younger brother and wanted to cry with them, but tears couldn’t come.

“What do you mean she disapparated? She is eleven years old. She can’t disapparate yet!” Harry was baffled and confused at this exclamation. How could an eleven year old who had absolutely no training in spells and charms be able to conjure up such powerful magic?

“She can Harry.” The sound of his wife’s weak voice made him turn toward the door. Ginny stood in the doorway with light patterns of blood smear on the front of her house dress. She had aged significantly with their children and had wrinkles around the corners of her eyes and her once vibrant red hair had now faded into a softer strawberry colour. Harry watched his wife with a sense of confusion.

“Hermione has been teaching the girls some magic to prepare them for anything they may come across. Rose…well…Rose took a keen interest into our history and all of the spells that we learned when we were at Hogwarts. I let her teach Lily some things without a wand, just to strengthen her natural magic, but when Rose told me that she was an animagus…”

“A what! Animagus! That isn’t…” But Albus interrupted him.

“She is dad. We all are.” The adults were stunned and they looked at the children with a look of shock.

“You?” Harry asked with suspicion.

“Yeah.” Albus responded.

“And Scorpius?” Harry asked looking at Draco son. However, Scorpius didn’t respond. Draco looked at him and when he didn’t respond he met eyes with Harry and nodded.

“There are several spells Rose has been teaching the boys throughout the year and now…well…now it really has taken its toll on her. She knows more magic than she can handle at this age” Ginny’s words held some truth and Harry knew in his heart that it made sense. Draco however, wanted to know how she came across the Sectumsempra curse. Almost as if Harry had read his mind, Harry asked.

“Albus. Where did Rose find out about the curse?” Harry’s question made Albus advert his gaze, but his mother encouraged him to answer his father.

“We were just wandering around the castle and we came across this cabinet and inside of it was this advanced potions book. Scorpius found it and gave it to Rose for Christmas and she found all these spells. I guess that was the one that said for enemies. She always threatened to use it on Kyrie Zabini. I guess we finally know what it does.” Albus’s lip quivered and she cried a little more after her revealed his secrets. He pulled away from Harry and ran to his mother. Harry watched the boy for a moment and then noticed a small red head cowering in the doorway behind Ginny.

“Lily. Do you know where Rose is?” Harry’s sudden comment made the little girl quiver. She walked forward and nodded.

“She went to Uncle Bill and Aunt Fleur’s house. She knows no one will be there for another week. She is safe there.” Lily’s little voice sent relief down the spines of all the people in the room.

“So I guess we are off to the Weasley’s house.” Draco concluded. Harry nodded.

“Please let me go. You had your way. Please. Let me go.” Hermione’s soft strained voice whispered in the darkness of the room. Fenrir Greyback simply laughed and pulled his pants back over his body.

“Let you go. No my dear. I am going to have my way with you over and over and over again. And then one week from tonight, when there is a full moon. I am going to feast on your tender flesh that I have enjoyed so very much this evening. Now. You should get some sleep little witch. I am going to have some fun with you yet.” And with that Greyback left Hermione in the darkness with only the moon from the skylight over her head as she cried on the cold table he had left her on.

Friday, December the 22nd.

Six days before the full moon.
