Budd Dwyer, Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, before he placed the barrel of a Magnum .357 revolver into his mouth and pulled the trigger in front of TV news cameras that were videotaping what was originally presumed to be a press conference (Dwyer had been found guilty of accepting bribes, and professed his innocence to the literal last moments of his life. The press conference was held on what was to be the day before his sentencing).
Chapter 13
Harry and Voldemort returned to their rooms and once again got ready for bed. As Harry went under the covers he looked down at the ground to notice Brownie staring up at him.
“Well, come on boy, get up here.” Harry said while patting the bed. Brownie jumped up and was just starting to make himself comfortable when Tom pushed him off the bed.
“What the hell was that for?” Harry demanded. He saw no reason to have Tom treat Brownie like that…even if the dog was a bit weird.
“The dog is dirty and smells like he has been living in a dumpster.” He then looked at the dog again. “Then again, he probably has been living in a dumpster. He cannot be on the furniture until he gets a bath.” Tom said. That was his final words before he got comfortable and tried to go to sleep.
Harry just stared at Tom before he once again lifted up the covers and got out of bed.
Tom peeked one eye open when he felt Harry leaving. “And where are you going?” Tom asked in a lazy drawl.
“To give Brownie a bath, of course.” Was all Harry said as he went to the bathroom and called for Browne.
Tom sighed and got up as well while muttering under his breath, “Stupid dog. Of course Harry wouldn’t have wanted a cute little puppy like most people do. No, he had to take in a stray off the street that is more trouble than it’s worth. Stupid, ugly, and smelly.”
Tom muttered while making his way to the bathroom and leaning against the doorframe.
“Harry, it’s 1 o’clock in the morning, come back to bed.” Tom asked nicely.
“No.” Harry said distracted. He was currently filling up the tub.
“Harry, the bath can wait until tomorrow. The dog can sleep on the floor for one night. He’ll be fine.” Tom tried again.
“What’s the point in waiting? I’m up now, might as well get it done.” Harry said. At this time the bath was full and Harry looked at Brownie. “Well, what are you waiting for? Get in.” Harry said. Brownie just looked at him, then darted into the pull. There was a huge splash after he made his jump which managed to soak Harry, who was sitting next to the tub. Tom laughed at his predicament.
“That’s what you get for trying to the bath the dog after it’s time for bed.” Tom said as he left the room, still chuckling.
“You know what Brownie? If I didn’t love him so much, I think I would have to kill him.” Harry said as he got into the tub with Brownie. Harry already being nude as he never sleeps with clothes on. The tub was too large to try and bath the dog from the outside, so he had no choice to get in. Harry picked up some shampoo and began scrubbing the dog in a more shallow part of the tub.
Sirius was in heaven. He so loved to be scratched, and he was being scratched with shampoo, making him smell like roses. Not to mention the fact that he was in the tub with a naked Harry…but he wasn’t going to think about that, at least not when he was being scratched right behind the ears.
“So Brownie,” Harry said, wondering if the dog understood him, “can you understand me?” He might as well be blunt. He needed to find out what was different about this dog. He could be like a kneezle, though those were more cat like, but there could be something like that for dogs.
Brownie looked at him as he spoke and nodded his head in a very human like fashion.
“You’re not a regular dog are you?” Harry said fishing for more information.
Brownie just shook his head no. He didn’t know if it was exactly safe, changing into Sirius Black in what he now knew as the Dark Lord’s house. He didn’t think it was a very good idea.
Harry saw Brownie’s body stiffen when he started asking him questions and decided to let it go for now. They both need to get some sleep. After he was done shampooing Brownie, he put some rose scented conditioner in Brownie’s hair. He wanted Brownie to be nice and soft, and his coat to be shiny.
They both got out of the tub, Harry quickly jumping in the shower and scrubbing himself. There was no need to go around smelling like you bathed with a dog. Harry then grabbed his wand and put drying charms on both himself and Brownie and left for the bedroom. When Brownie jumped on the bed this time, he wasn’t pushed off.

(Hogwarts)
While Tom, Harry, and Brownie were sleeping, Severus Snape made his way through Hogwarts castle on his way to the headmaster’s office. He carried the contract in his hand, needing to show it to the leader of the light. He quickly knocked on the door, and this time waited for the “Come in,” before entering.
“What is it Severus? Did you take my proposal to Voldemort?” He asked. If they could attack Voldemort’s men before they could say the unbreakable vow, then that would be a major blow to Voldemort. They needed to this war as quickly as possible. The Ministry of Magic was already attacked and raids were everywhere. Too many people were dying, and the dark side seemed to be growing larger after every attack. Things were not looking up.
“Oh, I told him your proposal alright.” Severus said as he handed the contract to the aging headmaster. Dumbledore looked it over, not understanding its importance.
“Severus, what is this, a code of conduct?” Dumbledore asked, genuinely confused.
“It’s called a blood oath.” Severus scowled as Dumbledore’s eyes widened.
“I didn’t think Tom knew about that.” Dumbledore said quietly. Blood oaths had fallen out of practice close to two centuries beforehand, when the unbreakable vow was created.
“He didn’t,” Severus said when Dumbledore looked at him confused, “his slave, Raven, is the one who knew about it. The boy seems unusually smart, first knowing how to get the Dark Lord’s body back , and now knowing about the blood oath. He needs to be eliminated.” Severus said scathingly. The boy needed to be put into his place, shown who his superiors were. He had no idea why he was like that, he lived with the Dark Lord for crying out loud! He should be totally submissive, never questioning, and always polite to his betters. What was the Dark Lord thinking?
“Raven? The slave is still alive? I thought you said you haven’t seen him since that first meeting?” Dumbledore asked surprised. Voldemort never kept anyone in his bed that long, especially not some slave that he could throw away like a piece of garbage.
“I haven’t seen him at any meetings. You would think the Dark Lord would be bragging about the boy, keeping him by his chair like a pet, but he hasn’t. In fact, the boy looked rather healthy when I saw him today.” Severus said thoughtfully. It was odd the boy was still alive.
“Well, this changes things a bit. If we do it this way, there will be absolutely no fighting.” Dumbledore said with a frown.
“Are we still going?” Severus asked.
“Yes, even if we can’t take out a few of Voldemort’s men, this meeting can still be beneficial. We will know who is firmly on the dark side when they sign this paper. And if we can reach some kind of agreement to stop this war, then that would also be good.” Dumbledore said still deep in thought.
“Gather the order tomorrow morning. Members who wish to go will have to sign the contract.” Dumbledore said in obvious dismissal.
‘I wonder who Tom will bring.’ Dumbledore thought before he to headed off to bed.

(Riddle Manor)
Harry groaned as he woke up the next morning. His head was reeling a bit, and his stomach was rolling. He did not feel well at all. He didn’t want to move…but he knew if he didn’t he would throw up while still lying in bed. He tried to get up as quickly as he could trying not to upset his stomach even more. He went to the bathroom, not bothering to shut the door and started to throw up.
Sirius perked his head up as he heard a noise in the bathroom. He looked around and noticed Harry missing and went to the bathroom to check on him. ‘He’s sick.’ Sirius thought worriedly. Sirius debated for a moment what to do before turning around and walking back towards the bed. He jumped up in the bed and started to whimper. He would wake the bastard up, Harry needed him.
“Go away, you dumb dog.” Tom said as he rolled over, swatting at Brownie.
Sirius tried again, this time he added a few barks to the whimpers and stuck his nose by Tom’s face.
“Harry, get your dog away from me.” Tom said as he rolled onto his other side to get Harry’s attention, only to find him not there. He looked around. ‘Where is he?’ He thought as he heard vomiting in the bathroom. ‘Harry.’ He thought worried.
He immediately got out of bed and went into the bathroom. Harry was hunched over the toilet head on the seat panting heavily.
“I’ve never been sick. Why am I sick, Tom?” Harry pleaded a few tears in his eyes. Tom came over and started to rub his back.
“We went to Diagon Alley yesterday, you probably came into contact with someone who was sick.” It was only logical. Harry had only ever been around himself and Lucius practically all his life, there was no way he could get sick. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I feel a lot better now. A bit tired, but that’s all.” Harry said while wiping the tears from his eyes.
“Well I’ll put you back to bed. You should sleep. Getting some rest usually helps and I’ll bring you some juice. You can’t get dehydrated.” Tom said as he scooped Harry into his arms and carefully placed him into the bed while covering him up. He felt his forehead for a fever. There wasn’t one. ‘Well that’s odd.’ He thought to himself. You usually have a fever when your sick. He kissed Harry’s forehead and was about to leave the room when he noticed Brownie following him with a questioning look.
“Good dog. Stay with Harry. He may need you.” Was all he said before leaving to get Harry some juice. Little did he know that this routine would continue over the next few weeks.
‘At least I know he cares about him.’ Sirius thought as he jumped onto the bed, wanting to comfort his godson in his time of need.

…SIRIUS, REMUS, AND LUCIUS. Though it was very very close. LRS won with 21 votes to Draco’s 17. And for people who voted twice it was LRS with 22 votes to Draco’s 20. Now I don’t want to leave Draco out. So I can go one of two ways…I can have him with Severus (the man does need to get laid like Harry suggested) or he can join Sirius, Remus, and his father later. …SIRIUS, REMUS, AND LUCIUS. Though it was very very close. LRS won with 21 votes to Draco’s 17. And for people who voted twice it was LRS with 22 votes to Draco’s 20. Now I don’t want to leave Draco out. So I can go one of two ways…I can have him with Severus (the man does need to get laid like Harry suggested) or he can join Sirius, Remus, and his father later.
