Chapter 12
Tom entered the study and sat down in a chair. Harry, wanting to be by Tom plopped himself down in Tom’s lap, much to Lucius’ amusement.
“So, what was so important that you came into my chambers uninvited tonight, ruining what was sure to be a enjoyable evening?” Voldemort asked with a cold voice.
“My Lord, forgive me, but I just got back from a meeting with Dumbledore…he knows someone is a spy.” Severus said carefully, waiting to be punished. Dumbledore and him had it all planned out, this way it seems Severus is still with the dark and that the information he gives may not be entirely truthful.
“What do you mean, he knows someone is a spy?” Voldemort asked, now getting angry.
“Tonight when I was at the order meeting, he said that he had had some suspicions for quite some time that their was a spy amongst them. He said he did not know who but he would like the spy to bring a message to you.” Severus said.
“And what is this message?” Voldemort asked curiously.
“He wants a meeting the day before the beginning of school term in neutral territory. He’s willing to give an oath that the light shall not attack the dark on the day set, if the dark is willing to make a similar oath for the light.” Severus said keeping his voice as neutral as possible.
“Where will the meeting take place? What does he wish to discuss?” Voldemort asked, deep in thought. Perhaps they would be willing to negotiate.
“It would take place in the Three Broomsticks, Hogsmeade. He wants to discuss the war, well, he wants to try and see if both the light and dark have similar goals. He sees no point in fighting if some sort of agreement can be made.” Severus said, still keeping his voice neutral.
“I doubt any agreement could be made. What do you think, sweet raven? Should we go to have this little talk with Dumbledore?” Voldemort asked, genuinely curious of Harry’s opinion.
Harry looked at Severus intently for a few moments. He could see the benefits of such a meeting, but the oath is still a bit shaky. They would have to be the ones to set the terms.
“I think it could be a good idea, if only to find out what the light is willing to bargain.” Harry said, still looking at Severus. He noticed the creases in the man’s face disappear, and the tension seemed to leave his body. The action was hardly noticeable, but Harry was looking at him too closely for him not to notice. The man, Severus, probably didn’t see a point in worrying about the slave. ‘He probably thinks I’m too stupid to notice.’ Harry thought, though why would he be so relieved about this little get together. ‘Perhaps he is the spy Tom thought thinks he is.’
“Though,” Harry said, still watching Severus for anymore signs of betrayal, “we would have to be the ones to write the blood oath.” Harry said. Everyone looked at him as if he were crazy.
“Blood oath? What’s that? It would take an Unbreakable Vow to offer each side protection from the other.” Tom asked, once again stumped. Harry looked around at everyone’s faces and noticed the general confusion on each one.
“You’ve never heard of a blood oath?” He asked. Everyone shook their heads. “How unfortunate. Anyway, a blood oath is a written agreement not a spoken one. One side writes up the contract and the contract is given to the other side to look over. If they agree to the contract, all members of the meeting will sign their name and place a drop of their blood next to their name. The blood drop puts their magical signature into the paper which makes up the agreement. If the signers of the contract knowingly breaks the contract or involves anyone else not signed in the contract of the meeting, the signers who broke the agreement will have their magic stripped which forces the person to die. After one side signs the agreement, the other side signs the same way and a copy of the contract is placed inside the Ministry of Magic to keep record.” Harry said knowledgably.
The crowd was stunned, jaws nearly hitting the floor, and eyes bugging out of their sockets. Harry mentally congratulated himself for a job well done. ‘It looks like I managed to surprise the three most stoic men on the face of the planet. Good job Harry.’
Meanwhile, Brownie seemed to be having some kind of fit on the floor. ‘No, my godson is not dark. there is no way the boy-who-lived is having some kind of sordid affair with the monster who killed his parents.’ Sirius tried to convince himself, still not knowing Harry was actually a slave to begin with.
Harry looked down and noticed Brownie whimpering on the floor. “Brownie what’s wrong boy, are you hurt? Come here, let me look at you.” Harry said getting on the floor and holding out his arms.
Lucius looked at Voldemort and mouthed, “Brownie,” with his lips. Voldemort’s only response was a shake of his head and a quiet, “Don’t ask.”
Sirius carefully padded over to Harry, keeping his eyes on who he now knew was the Dark Lord Voldemort. ‘If he touches my godson, I’ll tare him to pieces.’ Sirius thought as a growl escaped his throat.
Harry looked from Brownie to Tom and said, “I don’t think he likes you very much.”
Tom just snorted and said, “Smart dog.”
Harry took this to heart as he thought it over. ‘He is an unusually smart dog. I’ll have to read about his breed later.’
Severus just watched the interaction between the two and voiced what he had been thinking. “What I would like to know is how this boy,” Severus said boy with a sneer, “knows about this blood oath, when all three of us have never heard of it.” Severus knew if this boy knew about this blood oath and was the one to give Voldemort his original body back then he was a very strong alley. An alley that the light could use, and the dark had. The boy obviously wasn’t going to switch sides so he had to be terminated. It was time to cast some suspicions onto the boy.
“What are you implying, Severus?” Voldemort said in a cold voice.
“Are you sure he does not work for the light? He appears to be to knowledgeable for a boy so young. Surely one of us would have known about this oath! If this oath is a fake the light side could ambush us and kill us all in no time flat. I think doing an unbreakable vow would insure our safety more.” Severus said with a sneer. If they did the unbreakable vow, both participants would have to witness it, which would mean both sides would have to be there at the same time unprotected. An unbreakable vow only effects one person as well. If they did what the boy was suggesting, none of them could break the oath, which would meant that the light couldn’t take out a few members of the dark while they had the chance.
“I’m positive, though to placate you I will question Raven. Raven,” Voldemort said as he looked at Harry, “how did you find the blood oath?” Voldemort asked.
Harry just looked at them and rolled his eyes. “I read it somewhere. Not all of us are such stuck up prudes like Severus here that think they know everything in the entire world!” Harry said nastily.
“You insolent little brat! Perhaps it’s time someone taught you some respect” Severus snapped as he took out his wand preparing to hex the boy.
Before Tom could move to curse Snape before he could harm Harry, Snape was already in a full body bind with a silencing spell put on him. Voldemort looked over and saw that Harry had his wand out and was still sitting calmly on the floor.
“Don’t you EVER try and curse me again you foul bat. I’ve read about so many hexes and jinxes that it would make your head spin. Stop being so arrogant and stuck up thinking you know everything. Maybe if you removed that stick from up you arse, or is that the problem? That their hasn’t been anything up your arse in such a long time that you’ve become an mean old prude. Just go and get LAID already. You’d be doing the world a great favor.” Harry said, yelling at some points.
Complete and utter silence fell upon the group as everyone stared at Harry in shock. No one had been expecting to ever hear something like that from sweet Harry’s mouth. The silence was broken by Brownie rolling on the floor with happy yipping. Everyone was sure that Brownie was laughing at the comments Harry made. Brownie then proceeded to get up and walk over to Snape who was still in a body bind. He then did the most foul and disgusting thing he could think of. He raised his hind leg and peed all over the greasy haired man. He then turned around held his head up an proceeded to strut out the door.
Harry decided right then and there that Brownie was not just a regular dog.
“Well, that was interesting.” Lucius said.
“Now what should we put in this contract?” Tom asked as he went over to the desk to get some paper.
“Make sure you write that no one from either side is allowed to hurt anyone for the whole day, not just the time specified. That way if someone arrives early, or we leave late no one will be hurt without serious consequences.” Harry said. They continued to draw up the contract over the next hour having things like, cannot use any muggle weapons, or abduct anyone from either side. After all if you kidnap someone without using force then that is not considered harm. No one bothered to unbind Severus, thinking that the humiliation of laying there covered in dog urine would be a good punishment.
They finally finished their contract and told Severus to have the contract back with Lucius by the following Monday. The dark side would still need to sign it. Lucius and Severus both flooed away.
“Now then, lets retire to our chambers.” Tom said as he made to leave.
“Actually Tom, I do have one concern about the contract.” Harry said carefully.
“Oh, what is it? Why didn’t you tell me sooner, before we gave it to Severus to take to Dumbledore?” Tom asked.
“Well, Severus is my concern.” Harry started off slowly. At Tom’s nod to continue Harry continued on. “You see, if Severus was a spy, then he would need to sign on both the light and dark side of the contract. If he signs only the dark side, then he could still attack us, just not the light side. Dumbledore could use this as an advantage.” Harry said. “And if he really isn’t a spy for the light, which I believe he is, then we would lose a good spy for the dark.”
“Then we risk losing a spy? That’s fine, I’ve been meaning to get another one. I have the perfect person for the job. I’m sure he would be willing to do the job as he sees how rewarding it could be. I will talk to him, and if he accepts, then he will start after August 31st.” Voldemort said thoughtfully.
“That’s a good idea.” Harry said softly as they both walked back to their rooms.

ATTENTION: I WILL NOT BE UPDATING TOMORROW! As it is Friday I work 1-10 so I will not have a chance to write tomorrow. The good news is that I managed to write my entire research paper yesterday, so I will no longer be distracted with that. Next week is also my last week of my summer classes which also leaves me more time to write. THIS IS ALSO THE LAST CHAPTER TO VOTE!
