Chapter 13
Draco watched as Harry placed Hermione on one of the beds in the infirmiry. Madame Pomphrey quickly rushed to her side and began casting some spells. He couldn't watch, his heart was breaking. She risked her life and their child's for him. She was a true Gryffindor and she loved him. He sat on a bench outside of the infirmiry, put his head in his hands ands began to cry. He couldn't live without her. She was his world. He heard two people rush by him, and the the doors to the infirmiry were closed shut. He looked over toward the doors to see Harry, looking down to the ground. A few minutes later , Harry walked over to Draco and sat beside him. Draco could only look infront of him a this point, his elbows resting on his knees and his chin resting on his knuckles.
"What am I gonna do , Harry. What if I lose her?" he said quietly.
" Nothings been confirmed yet, Malfoy, but I can't stand the thought of losing her either" replied Harry.
McGonagall came back out of the infirmiry and walked over to both boys.
"It doesn't look good. She's still unconcious. It seems the only thing keeping her alive is her will for her baby to live" she spoke quietly, as both boys shuddered.
" I need for you to take me to where all this happened, Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy. I knows its hard but I need to cast a spell to confirm this and keep it in a protective bubble to give to the Ministry." she spoke
The three of them went to the edged of the Hogwarts grounds and apparated to Godric's Hollow. As McGonagall surveyed the scena nd did what she needed, the boys walked over to the statue of Gryffindor himself. Both boys looked up and down the statue.
"He truly was one of the greatest wizards of all time." spoke Harry. Draco nodded.
"You know it was said that only a true Gryffindor could defeat evil and bring the wizarding world to peace." Draco said quietly. "I guess the prophecy was right. And I'm glad that your the one who lived. You did us all a big favor"
Harry gave a small smile " Hermione was right, you have changed. I should have trusted her"
" You had every reason not to trust me, though. Look how I've treated you." Draco responded.
"Still, everyone deserves a second chance. If I had , maybe things wouldn't be this way, Hermione might not be dying" he said as he gave a sniff.
" Yes, but still, Voldemort might have killed you and then eventually the rest of us" Draco replied.
Both boys stood quietly. They noticed a flash of light on the bottom of the statue. They both moved closer and saw engraved names. Not until they got to the last two did they understand what it meant.
James Potter
Harry Potter
" I guess when they said a true Gryffindor would defeat evil, they meant it. Your Godric Gryffindor's Heir, Harry" said Draco.
"Yeah, I guess I am" replied Harry.
Professor McGonagall came up behind the boys and placed her hands on their shoulders.
"Its time to go back, boys" she said gently.
Neither of them really wanted to go back and face the situation that waited for them. Only time would tell weather or not Hermione and her baby wold make it.
A/N I had to put this chapter in so Harry could see that Draco had really changed and loved Hermione. Also to find out why Voldemort had chosen Godric's Hollow as the battle ground. Hope your enjoying the story. I think one more chapter is comming, possibly an epilouge. Thanks to all my readers! and for the reviews!
