“Professor Dumbledore!” Minerva howled outside his office door, Harry, Ron and Hermione standing sheepishly beside her.

The door swung open and they all stepped inside. Albus looked up from his desk and wasn’t surprised to see the usual trio standing in front of him.

“What have they done this time?” he asked calmly.

“They disobeyed a direct order. They went out to look for Miss Turowsky after I told them specifically to stay in the common room,” Minerva replied, throwing a stern look at them.

“Very well. Leave them here and I will deal with them,” he said.

She nodded and strode out of the office. The three sat down.

“Obviously, you are very worried about Miss Turowsky to disobey such an order. Would you like to know what happened to her?” he asked gently.

They nodded.

“Alright. Draco Malfoy kidnapped her and somehow managed to get her to a Death Eater meeting that is happening tonight. I have no idea if she is okay or what is happening,” Albus said.

“He’s going to get into trouble for that, right?” Harry asked immediately. “Kidnapping is against the law, not school rules.”

“Yes, he will, Harry. Now, twenty points-” he was interrupted by a loud racket at his door. It sounded as though someone was kicking his door.

“Miss Turowsky!” came a high-pitched shriek.

Ron jumped up and opened the door. A cloaked figure burst in, soaking wet, followed by Trelawney.

“Professor Dumbledore!” the figure panted, and the cloak fell away to reveal a cut and bruised Lialani and a sleeping Aglaia. Lialani’s hair was dripping and matted to her head. With a jolt of horror, Albus realized that it was dripping with blood, not water.

“My Gods, what’s happened to you child?” he asked, getting up quickly.

He took the baby. The second Aglaia was out of her arms Lialani passed out. She crumpled to the floor and with a sickening thud, her already-injured head hit the floor.

“I wonder what happened to her,” Hermione said as Harry and Ron lifted her up.

“We won’t know until she wakes up.” Albus conjured up a stretcher and the boys put her on it. “I’ll bring her up and you three stay here. Professor Trelawney, come with me.”

Sibyl nodded and followed him and the floating Lialani out the door.

“What does Trelawney have to do with anything?” wondered Harry.

“Lialani probably just knocked her over while she was getting here and Trelawney didn’t like it so she followed her,” Hermione answered, her disdain for her former professor evident in her tone.

“Most likely,” Ron agreed, and they sat in sce uce until Albus came back. And he did come back, thirty minutes later.

“Well, numerous fractures were found and Madam Pomfrey also found evidence of a few charms and curses so it must have been a witch or wizard that attacked her. But it had to have been someone with a weapon to cause such physical damage to her. She has a level seven concussion and a broken wrist. Madam Pomfrey healed her fractures, her broken wrist, and the wound on her head, but the effects of the concussion will still play out,” Albus said. He looked exhausted.

“Wow. Who would do all that and why?” Harry asked, looking puzzled.

“Someone who didn’t want her to get away,” Hermione answered for Albus.

Albus nodded. “Madam Pomfrey says that she should wake up tomorrow. Luckily, tomorrow is Sunday so there are no classes. Go to your common room now.”

Hermione opened her mouth to say something about their punishment but Ron elbowed her hard in the side and all that came out was a squeak of pain.

“Let’s go,” Harry said, not believing their luck that Albus would forget to punish them,

They made their way to the door hastily but were stopped by a chuckle, “Twenty points from Gryffindor for each of you.”

Ron groaned but Hermione pushed him out the door. Harry followed and shut the door softly behind him.

“Miss Turowsky, are you awake?” Poppy asked gently. She had seen her open her eyes just a minute ago.

Lialani nodded mutely.

“Is she okay?” came a whisper.

Lialani opened her eyes. She saw Madam Pomfrey, yes, that was Madam Pomfrey. The man with the long beard said that twas was her name. Wait, what man with a long beard? She turned her head slightly and saw a man with black hair and black eyes looking down at her worriedly.

“Who is he?” she asked weakly.

“Why doesn’t she remember me?” Severus wasn’t anticipating this.

“I was afraid of this. Apparently, she has amnesia. The concussion affected her memory. She should get it back soon but we should help it along by any means possible.”

“Show her our daughter.”

“I have a daughter?” Lialani asked.

Severus nodded. He turned around and lifted Aglaia out of the crib.

“Oh, she’s mine? She’s so cute!” Lialani cooed. “Wait, who’s the father? You?”

Severus nodded again.

“That’s why she has black hair! What color are my eyes?”

Severus felt a pang of pain. She didn’t even know her own eye colors.

“One’s brown and one’s black,” he replied.

“Really? How come?”

“You have a very rare power. You are a Magnesius, the first one in three hundred years.”

“Wow, I must be special. But if you have black eyes and I have one brown and one black eye, how come her eyes are green?”

“My mother’s mother has green eyes and her genes just skipped a few generations.”

“Oh. Hey, what’s that on my finger?”

Severus felt as though his heart was crumbling. She was indicating to her engagement ring.

“It’s very pretty.” She held up her hand and admired the ring. It was a thin, gold band that had an emerald surrounded by dainty little diamonds on it.

“That’s your engagement ring.”

“Oooooh, who am I getting married to?”

“Me.”

Lialani looked up at him. Instead of disappointment, as he had expected, there was a sort of peacefulness and happiness in her eyes.

“Really? Why?”

“Because I made you pregnant.”

“Really? Cause from the look in your eye I think that you-”

“Madam Pomfrey, don’t you agree with me that she needs more rest?”

“Actually, no, she doesn’t. She just woke up,” Poppy replied.

Lialani looked up at him triumphantly. “I would say that you loved me.”

Poppy gasped. “Miss Turowsky, this man in your Potions professor.”

“Yeah, so?”

“So, Miss Turowsky, I would think that that is rather inappropriate for you to say to him,” Poppy responded.

“It’s true,” Severus said quietly.

“What?” cried Poppy.

“Finally, he admits it,” Albus called cheerfully as he appeared in openopen doorway. “Well, Severus I can see that Poppy finally managed to get you to fix the door you broke in your hurry to get Lialani safely in here.”

“Who are you? Who is Severus? Who is Poppy? Who is Lialani?” Lialani demanded.

Severus choked as he heard her last question. “You’re Lialani,” he said. “I’m Severus and she’s Poppy.” He gestured to the medi-witch.

“And I am Albus Dumbledore,” Albus stated.

“Wait, Dumbledore, Dumbledore…You’re the Headmaster at Hogwarts. But what is Hogwarts?” Lialani looked frustrated that one answer simply roused another question.

“Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding,” Albus replied proudly.

“Witchcraft? Am I a witch?” Lialani asked eagerly.

“Of course. You can do magic and make potions. According to Severus you are very advanced when it comes to Potions,” Albus said.

“I’m a Magnesius,” she declared proudly. “Doesn’t that have to do with magic?”

“Did she remember that on her own?” Albus asked hopefully.

“No, I told her that. She asked what her eye color was and I told her. She wanted to know why they were two different colors so I told her that, too,” Severus replied.

“Give her a mirror,” Albus said. He conjured one up and handed it to her.

She looked into it eagerly. A small, pale face grinned back at her. Her mismatched eyes sparkled with excitement. Blonde locks had fallen into her face and she tugged at them. She reached behind her back and was delighted to find that her hair cascaded down her back. She remembered something then.

“Can I have two hair ties? I want to put my hair in pigtails cause it’s my favorite hairstyle,” she said.

Albus smiled. “She seems to be making good progress for someone who lost her memory temporarily yesterday.”

“I did? Why? What happened?” she asked.

“To tell the truth, child, none of us knows except for you. Severus can only tell you so much,” Albus responded.

She seemed to wilt with disappointment. Suddenly, she yawned.

“Come on, Poppy and Severus. She’s tired. Let her get some sleep,” Albus said.

They nodded and Severus followed him out the door and Poppy went into her office. Lialani yawned again and lay back against her pillows. In a few minutes, she was fast asleep.
