Eleven - The Dress, the Potion, and the Feeling Once Again

Following an uneventful weekend, I was soon back to the grind of a student, which unfortunately included homework. I had Defense Against the Dark Arts and Double Potions with Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and Transfiguration with Draco and Pansy.

I had made sure that I got as much work done as possible because Friday, today, I was going shopping with my grandfather for a new dress to wear for my party. After classes, I finished the little bit of homework I had left from the week, before running down to the staff room to get him.

We then made our way to the shopping village of Hogsmeade. A wide variety of shops and eateries filled this small village, and from what I was seeing, I wondered if we should've been there.

"Is there a place here to buy a nice dress?"

"Yes, of course! It's here at the east end of the village. Madam Thoria's shop is full of the best custom dress clothes money can buy," my grandfather laughed, clearly more excited about the trip than I was.

When we finally arrived at the shop, I saw that my grandfather wasn't joking. In the front window alone stood the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. A stunning white gown, accented with beautiful stones across the bodice and trim, and looked as though it would flow around the wearer for days. My eyes finally came off the dress as we entered into a cornucopia of elegance. I stood in awe for a few minutes, and in curiousness, looked at the price tag of one of the dresses. My jaw dropped to the ground.

"Grandpa! How can.... these gowns are hundreds of Galleons! We can't get me a dress for that much!"

My grandfather laughed out loud. "You know your family has plenty of money! Besides, this is my present to you, and I say, you can have any dress that you want!"

A silent scream blew past my huge smile as I dove into selecting dresses to try on. My family never glorified the fact that they were wealthy, and rarely did I ever see a Vablatsky splurge on anything. My birthday's were no exception. As much as I enjoyed those days of small get togethers with cake, a few presents, and family, the magnitude of this party was overwhelming me wonderfully.

I tried on almost every dress they had in my size until I finally found my literal diamond in the rough. I stepped out in a breathtaking dress that found every curve of my body perfectly. A beautiful lavender gown with platinum diamonds accents that trimmed my waistline and decorated the edge of the slit that showed off my right leg. It had a criss cross halter top, and a cascade of carefree material below my hips. Madam Thoria finished my look with some matching open toe heels, and a pair of beautiful short gloves. I was in love, and so excited to show it off. After getting back into my clothes, I crushed my grandfather with a bear hug. He laughed as he struggled for the breath that I wouldn't let him have.

I returned to the school, and was on my way to the hall for dinner when I was stopped by Sibyll. I had almost forgotten in the excitement of things, that the potion might have been done today.

"Oh Sibyll! I'm so sorry, I was supposed to see you after class!"

"That's quite alright Jewel, we all know what you were doing. Your potion is ready my dear."

"It is?! Can we..." I stammered in even more elation.

"Now?" she asked, realizing my state.

"Yes now! Please?!" I asked, bouncing.

"Well, sure, I..."

With that, I started walking quickly toward her classroom with her trailing as fast as she could behind me.

I stopped at the back of her classroom to find bags full of little viles that contained the Effusio potion. As she entered behind me, I wondered aloud.

"I hope this works. I mean, if it does, I don't know how long it will last or anything."

Sibyll walked to my side. "Well as I know, that equus hair ingredient promotes longevity, so it should last at least twenty-four hours."

I hugged Sibyll for everything that she had done for me. Even if it didn't work, I couldn't thank her enough for the effort.

"Alright, I'm going to go to my room and try it. Wish me luck!"

I carried the slightly heavy bags to my room, and put them under my bed. I took one of the vials and looked at it. It was a dark green color that didn't look as though it would taste any good. Taking a hopeful breath, I downed the liquid. No, it didn't taste good at all. I ran to the bathroom and rinsed my mouth out immediately. That didn't work, so I brushed my teeth and gargled a bit before the taste finally left my mouth. Still giving myself a sour face in the mirror, my stomach began to feel very warm. The heat traveled through my body fairly quickly, until I felt nothing at all. I didn't exactly know if it was working, but there was only one way to find out.

I ran out of the common room and down some stairs to the Great Hall where everyone was for dinner. I stopped at the doors, and looked down the Slytherin table for Draco. As I spotted him, I ran down the side, calling to him in my mind. He seemed to have heard me, and stood up from his seat. I ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and dragged him with me out of the hall. I dashed around the corner, to the outside courtyard, and pinned him against the wall.

I looked deeply into his eyes, and smiled. It had worked. My hands were still radiating his being to me, but the pain was gone. I pushed my body close to his, and pulled his hands around my waist. I gently held his face between my gloved hands, and brought my hungry lips to his. It was electric. Our mouths immediately opened to explore each other's taste and our bodies answered without a second thought. The intensity made me moan from the feeling, and he answered my call with one of his own. My heart began to accelerate as a familiar feeling came over me once again. In my dark embrace of innocent, raw emotion, every sensation from Draco's last reading exploded around me. I deepened the kiss as far as it would allow, savoring every moment, before the need for air became an issue. As our lips left each other, content eyes were all that we cared to see. I ran my finger down his cheek as I caught my breath.

"You'd never guess," I started, laughing lightly at myself. "I found a potion to stop my pain."

"Really beautiful, I hadn't a clue," he laughed loudly, and then stroked my face with a mesmerizing gleam in his eyes. "You don't know how happy I am that you did."

"I think I do," I softly replied.

"I don't usually like to repeat myself, but I wouldn't mind feeling that again," he smirked.

I glowed at his words and gave in to his demand. We made love with our mouths again, now more slowly and purposeful than before. I took in his breath and scent as though it would never come my way again. I felt like I had suffered my entire life, and this wonderful bad boy was my cure.

After we broke our embrace, we walked hand and hand back to a nearly empty hall.

"Draco, I have something to ask you."

"What is it beautiful?" He was swimming as much as I was.

"Dumbledore is having a party for my birthday, in this hall two weeks from tomorrow. I know you don't care for Harry and them, but I would be honored if you would be my date on my special night."

"For you, I think I could manage. It would be my pleasure," he smiled.

I gripped him in a tight hug. "Thank you."

He walked me to my common room entrance, and kept me in his grasp as we stopped.
"The party is formal, so make sure you knock me off my feet."

"That can be arranged," he whispered as he sealed the deal with a kiss. As much as I didn't want him to go away, we said our goodnights with a promise to see each other the next day.

I walked happily to my room and twirled around in pure joy. I got dressed for bed, and snuggled between my sheets. My cheeks and lips were a little sore, but in a good way. I smiled and closed my eyes. Thank you granny Cassie. Thank you.
