Chapter 11: Full Of Surprises


Everyone cheered as the band ended their surprise concert and Mitch spoke into the microphone and said, “You guys have been great you can catch us again at the Halloween Ball! Now let’s enjoy a round of butterbeers on me!” she said as everyone cheered and she began to break down everything along with the band.

Hermione and everyone else at the table couldn’t stop smiling, Mitch and her band did an amazing job and she couldn’t wait to hear them play again at the ball. She got up from her seat and walked up to Mitch who was rolling up some of cords, “Wow that was really amazing,”

“Why thank you glad you liked it,” she said as she moved around her to put the cord down and to start on another one.

“I can’t believe you didn’t tell us you were performing here tonight,”

“Well I wanted to keep it a surprise you know this was the way I was going to ask you to be my girlfriend,” Mitch said with a laugh as she put the cord down and wrapped her arms around Hermione who wrapped her arms around the taller girl’s neck.

“Oh really now and just how were you going to ask?”

“Well I was going to ask the crowd what they would say if I wanted you to be my girlfriend and just see where that went,”

“Well the way you did it earlier was way better I have to say,”

“Oh yeah,”

“Yeah,”

Just as they were about to kiss the other guitarist with a buzzed haircut cleared his throat, “I hate to break this up but we have to get this gear packed and up to the castle,” he said.

“Spoil my fun why don’t you Kelsey,” Mitch said with a laugh then she gave Hermione a small kiss and said, “I’ll be over in a few,” Hermione nodded and gave the other girl another kiss and walked back over to the table where everybody was.

“Who knew Mitch could play guitar, sing, and dance,” Draco said.

“Don’t forget piano,” Hermione said as she sat down.

“You’ve got to be kidding me, piano as well?” Ron asked as he took a sip of his butterbeer.

They started talking about the Ball yet again and how it was going to be a great night and everyone can’t wait to see what Mitch has planned for that night. Hermione knew that she was planning something but she didn’t know what and she hated being kept in the dark. All she knew was that after Mitch was done playing she was to meet her outside on the grounds, she would ask questions but all the American did was kiss her and tell that she has to wait.

Mitch and Kelsey were in the back double checking everything making sure everything was packed. Once everything was checked over they told the carriage driver that he was all set the rest of the band members decided to go up to the castle and explore, Kelsey remained behind so he could talk to his best friend about this new girl in her life. They walked back inside and joined everybody, Mitch went around the table introducing him to everyone and they took a seat. They sat on either side of Hermione and she smiled when Mitch came back in but then her smile fell once she saw Jessie coming their way, everyone followed her gaze and saw her. Kelsey couldn’t believe that she was there trying not to be noticed he looked away from her as well as everyone else did. Once she passed by them obviously trying to find Mitch they all let out a sigh of relief and they all smiled at each other and everyone began to talk all at once about the band’s little concert.

All Mitch could do was smile as she held Hermione’s hand in hers. She’s looked around then looked at Hermione and with a slight nod they both got up and walked out of Three Broomsticks and got into one of the carriages that would take them back to castle. Once they reached the castle they walked to their dorm and softly saying the password they walked up to Mitch’s room.

Hermione smiled as Mitch did a locking and silencing spell on the door. Mitch leaned against the door as Hermione laid down on the bed looking at her. Mitch walked over to the bed and climbed onto hit hovering over the girl under her, Hermione took off Mitch’s hat and ran her fingers through her hair, “I like your hair like this,” she said softly.

Mitch touched the girl’s cheek and gave her a soft smile, “I’m thinking about keeping it,”

“I think you should,” she replied as Mitch slowly leaned in.

“I’ll keep it if you want me to,” she said against Hermione’s lips.

“I want you to,” Hermione said as their lips gently touched. Hermione couldn’t help but let out a small moan she didn’t know what it was about this girl but she didn’t want it to stop. If she could feel like this forever then she would want to spend forever with her, she just never got the courage to tell her just yet.

Mitch held her breath she never thought she could feel this way about some one again but yet here she is with an amazing girl that she’s fallen completely head over heels for. She ran her tongue along Hermione’s bottom lip asking for entrance, without a moments hesitation she granted her entrance and gave another small little moan as she felt the other girl’s tongue brush against her own.

Mitch respected Hermione and she didn’t want to scare her by any means when it came to having sex, she wanted to easy the girl into it and not rush anything. She understood that Hermione wasn’t ready for something like that and she would wait forever as long as she was with her she would be just as happy.
Mitch deepened the kiss and pulled the other girl closer to her and started to unzip Hermione’s hoodie, not breaking the kiss Hermione leaned up and took it off and tossed it blindly onto the floor, then leaning back down taking Mitch with her. Mitch pulled away just a bit and began kissing along her jaw line then found that spot on Hermione’s neck, smiling she gently bit down on it and then kissed it soothing the pain that the other girl might’ve felt. Hermione pulled her closer and whispered in her ear, “Merlin, do you have any idea what you do to me?” all Mitch could do was smile and pull away from her neck and look into those amazing chocolate brown eyes and say, “I have a feeling by the way you react to me,” smiling Hermione pulled her in for another kiss this time it wasn’t gently and loving, no it was passionate and wanting.


Mitch would let Hermione call the shots since she’s never done this before and she didn’t want to be the one to force her into something she didn’t want to do. As they kissed Mitch carefully moved her hand under Hermione’s shirt softly caressing Hermione’s soft skin she didn’t get to far up since Hermione’s hand came down on hers and she pulled away.

“Okay, we’ll stop there,” Mitch said with a small smile kissing Hermione on her forehead. Hermione smiled at the other girl as she moved off of her and to her side facing her. “You’re too good to me,” Hermione said as she took the other girl’s hand in hers.

“I don’t even have to try,”

“I’ve notice that, it’s just who you are, you have a great heart and I just don’t understand how a sweet person like you could have a horrible past,”

“I haven’t told you anything about my past,” Mitch said sitting up looking at Hermione.

“Well I meant with Jessie then Dumbledore told me that your dad left but he never went into full detail,” Hermione told her truthfully as she sat up looking at Mitch.

They sat in their first uncomfortable silence, Mitch didn’t know what to say she wasn’t ready to let Hermione know what Jessie is capable of or the real reason her dad walked out, or the fact that she almost ended up in jail because of stupid choices she’s made. She just wasn’t ready so far all she has told her was her childhood and growing up knowing that she would be with a girl and how she discovered that she was a witch and how she got accepted to her school.

Hermione knew that Mitch never said anything about her past all she wanted to do was open up and to just talk and not to be so guarded at times. Sure she was amazing to her and was the perfect angel but it didn’t help that she had skeletons in her closet and not talk about them. Hermione studied the other girl’s features and knew that she needed to calm down she could see her jaw clench and her eyes were looking anywhere but at her. She didn’t know what to say or do but to just sit there and look at this amazing girl that has her heart in the palm of her hand.

They sat in silence for a few more moments until Mitch finally said, “Why don’t you pick a movie and I’ll see about get us some food,”

Hermione smiled, “I’d like that,” she gave her a small kiss.

“I’ll be right back,” she said with a small smile and got up from the bed and left the room.

Hermione sighed and laid back onto the bed and smiled, even when something like that happens Mitch doesn’t get angry or doesn’t try to argue to her surprise Mitch just sits there as if she’s trying to control her anger. That girl is just full of surprises first walks into her life and changes her mind completely about finding the one, then tells her ex in front of almost everyone that she had a girlfriend, then putting on a concert for everybody. Finally respecting her everytime they were alone and things would get heavy, she wasn’t ready to take it to the next step and she loved the face that Mitch respects that. Whenever she asked to stop Mitch wouldn’t push her or pry she would stop and say okay and then talk about something else to take her mind off of it. Still smiling she got up off the bed and looked for a movie for them to watch.

Mitch was walking back from the kitchens she asked Dobby if he could send up an assortment of food since she didn’t really know what Hermione liked. Hearing somebody call her name she turned around and saw Eric the bass player from her band, the surfer looking guy with the shaggy brown hair and brown eyes with tan skin came up to her, “Hey how bout this place huh?” he asked.

“Yeah man, where are you guys staying?” she asked as they started to walk towards her dorms.

“We’re staying in Gryffindor tower that Ron can stuff his face,” he said with a laugh.

“Yeah tell me about it, you know it means a lot to me that you all of you are here because I’ve found someone,”

All Eric could do was smile and hug one of his best friends, Mitch laughed as she hugged him back, “It’s about time you have to tell me all about her,” he said with a smile as they reached the Heads dorm room.

“I will tomorrow right now I have get back in there but I’ll see you tomorrow at breakfast and you’ll get to meet her,” she told him with a smile.

“Alright girl I’ll see you later I’ll tell the guys you said hey,” hugging her again they said bye and he left, after saying the password softly she walked in and walked straight up to her room opening the door she smiled as she saw Hermione reading one of her books.

“Food should be up her shortly and I was thinking since Jessie plans on using this potion on me why don’t we have dinner here?” she asked as she climbed on to the bed next to Hermione kissing her temple.

“That sounds lovely and I think I have the perfect movie for it too,” she said putting her book down.

“Oh really what movie is that?”

“13 Going On 30,”


Jessie looked around the Great Hall looking for Mitch but didn’t see her. She did however see Mitch’s band but no Mitch and no Hermione, tonight Mitch was supposed to be there and drink the potion then be falling all over her. It doesn’t help that she wasn’t there. She felt hurt and angry that she decided to say hi to the band members.
Harry looked up and saw that Jessie was making her way over to them when he told everybody that the guys from the band groaned as if she they didn’t want her to be there.

“She’s really that bad huh?” Ron asked

“God, she wouldn’t leave Mitch alone for the longest time after they broke up,” Kelsey told him, just as Jessie sat down and began to talk to Eric.

“What’s sad is that she tried to date all of us just to get Mitch jealous,” Ryan said, he was the keyboard player. The girls always loved his short blonde hair and bright blue eyes, but he focused more on school than girls.

“That is sad,” Ginny said shaking her head.

“Tell me about it,” Ryan said as he took a sip of his drink.

Meanwhile back in Mitch’s room the two girls were sitting on her bed munching on the food that Dobby prepared for them. There were mini burgers for Mitch’s sake, some fruit here and there, a pitcher of water, another one of pumpkin juice, and another one of apple juice, along with their assortment of food there was fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and a few more things here and there. Mitch called it the ‘Southern Platter’ and Hermione just laughed.
“You know I was just thinking that you are just full of surprises,” Hermione told her as she took a sip of her pumpkin juice.

“I try my best,” Mitch said as she popped a grape into her mouth and smiled.

“If you keep surprising me like this then I’ll never want to leave your side ever,” she said giving her a small kiss.

“I do my best to please,” she said smiling; Hermione smiled then turned her attention back to the movie that was playing.


Mitch looked at the girl next to her and debated whether or not to tell her the truth about real reason for transfer to Hogwarts. She wasn’t sure just how to tell her she would practice in front of the mirror a hundred times, she pictured different scenarios and the worst one was when Hermione would leave her and never want to be with her again. She just didn’t know how to open up about her horrible past that almost had a horrible ending that if it did happen she wouldn’t be where she is right now.

She turned back to the movie and decided that she would wait a little bit longer to tell her the full truth about everything for right now she just wanted to be with her and her alone.


After dinner ended everyone said bye and Harry and Ron would show the new boys where they were staying, “So you guys know Jessie pretty well?” Harry asked.

“Yeah we all went to school together and she would hang out with us even after her and Riley broke up,” Mike said, the played the drums in the band and always wore a hat he never took it off and he also never really took off his sunglasses really except for today so his green eyes showed but you couldn’t really tell since his hat was covering them up a bit.

“Is she capable of killing anyone?” Harry asked point blank, really wanting to know about her and that if she is capable of killing some one then they would have to act quickly and hopefully nothing horrible would happen to Hermione.

The guys looked at each other and didn’t say anything, Ron and Harry saw how uncomfortable and that they were keeping something from him, “Look guys we really need to know our best friend is dating your best friend and I know that if we work together we can bring the real Jessie into light and you guys will get justice. Just please answer the question.”
“Do you know any where we could talk in private all of us,” Kelsey asked.

Harry and Ron nodded, “I’ll get Draco Ron if you want to take them to the Room of Requirement,” Harry said as he took off in search of Draco. Ron told the guys to follow him as Harry ran off.

Harry didn’t have to look far he found Draco just down the corridor talking to Crabbe and Goyle, he walked up to them and over heard Draco take away ten points from his own house and told the two to leave.

“Honestly you would think they would learn by now,” Draco said as he saw Harry come up to him, “Draco I need you to come with me to the Room of Requirement I think we might have some information on Jessie that we could use,”

“Good, by the way where are Mitch and Hermione?” He asked as they walked down the corridor.

“Draco it’s Saturday night,” Harry reminded him.

“Oh right,”

They continued to walk until the reached their destination, Ron already being at the door opened it for them and they walked in. After introducing everyone and shaking every one’s hand Draco asked, “So what can you tell us about Jessie and her intentions with Mitch and Hermione?”

“Jessie isn’t just someone who puts love potions in their drinks, and when someone gets in her way of her plan she gets rid of them once and for all,” Kelsey said.
