Just Pretend

Hermione woke up; she was in her own bed. She felt like shit. She looked around. She saw Draco sitting in her desk chair, sleeping.

She remember everything that happened. Some asshole got a hold of her. She tried to fight the bastard for as long as she could.

Did Draco save her? Where was Cheeko? Hermione felt around the bed. No Cheeko. Hermione sat up slowly.

"How are you feeling?" Draco asked.

"Like shit. Sorry, to wake you." Hermione said.

"You didn't. Do you need anything?" He asked.

"Where is Cheeko? What time is it?" Hermione asked, rubbing her head.

"She is with your parents and 8 in the morning."

"Did you save me? What happen to Harry and Ginny.

"No, I didn't Harry did." Draco said, look ashamed.

Hermione looked at Draco, he had a black eye.

"Hermione...I was avoiding you. I said those mean things cause I was trying to protect you. If I got you mad I thought you wouldn't want to have anything to do with me.

"It would be like in our younger years, we lived to have war with eachother. I did that cause my father came to me one time. He told me he would kill you if I was seriously dating you.

"Even though it was just pretend. I didn't have pretend feelings for you though. That is why I stopped everything with you.

"Then I figured that, he would try to kill you anyway to see if I was lying or not." Draco didn't want to see her reaction he was scared.

He slowly looked up at her. "You let some cruel and crooked man control you."

"Hermione, no matter what he is. He is still my father. I'm sorry, I put you through all that."

"So where does that put us now?"

"He is going to come after you either way. Atleast when your with me I could protect you. I want to still date you Hermione. Not for pretend either Hermione I really want you to be mine and only mine."

"Hermione will you be mine?" Draco asked.

Hermione opened her mouth to answer and before she got to Ginny busted through the door.

"Out!"Ginny yelled at Malfoy.

Hermione eyes widen. Draco looked at Hermione, she only nodded. Draco assumed that Ginny came by herself and the dirt on her, telling him she came by the Floo.

Ginny glared at him. She was still mad for the stunt he pulled yesterday. Ginny shut the door as he left.

"Are you ok?" Ginny asked.

"I feel like shit. Where is Harry?"

"I didn't come with him. I'm alone."

Hermione laughed alittle. "Yea; until he finds out your gone then he'll be here."

"No, Herimone. He isn't coming for me."

"Did you guys get into a fight? What happen yesterday. Start from the beginnig."

"Well, I lost you some how, then I thought maybe you went back to the guys. When I got there they couldn't find you.

"Draco got to you before Harry did, but he didn't so anything. He was I guess too shocked to do anything. Harry came just in time, to save you. I saw the guy running.

"Harry took you to St. Mungo's. Then the guys went outside. When I got out there they were fighting. I broke the fight up.

"Then Harry started yelling about a tea party Draco and I were having. Then he called Draco and I cowards. Hermione I'm so sorry, its not that I was too coward to help you. I was just stunned. I couldn't - Where are you going." Ginny asked, wiping the tears from her face.

Hermione got out of bed and went downstairs. Draco was sitting in the living room. Hermione went into the den. When was going to use to Floo.

when she got to the Floo Harry was coming out of it. "Where is Ginny." He asked.

"How dare you! That is no way to treat her! You can't blame her for not saving me! You have her in tears!"

"I didn't mean what I said. I was worked up. Hermione I couldn't stand the thought of you dying, He watched! Then she did. Your dying and their watching. I can't tell you what that did to me."

"You better fix things with her. You better try, if you don't you going to wish you let me died after I'm through with you." Hermione said.

Harry didn't even flinch. His eyes only stared into hers. Hermione turned around to her her parents and Ginny and Draco in the doorway watching.

"Why don't you guys grab some popcorn?" Hermione pushed passed them.

"Hermione, dear, You should be resting. You shouldn't get yourself worked up." Her father said.

"I need my baby!" Hermione said, going to get Cheeko.

"What happen to the cat? Did Cheeko eat him?" Draco asked.

They all turned to go back to the livingroom. Harry grabbed Ginny's arm, with pleading eyes. "Hear me out." He asked.

"Oh, Mr. and Mrs.Granger, Mrs.Weasely asked me to tell you that they will be over soon." Harry said, leading Ginny into the den.

Harry thought no one saw him as he went out the front door. Mr.Granger asked him to pick up Mrs.Granger's gift at the Mall.

He was lucky he knew how to drive. "Hey! Don't leave me with those people." Draco running up to Harry.

"Please, let me come with you. I wanted you to help me get Hermione a present." Draco continued.

"Fine, get in the car." Harry said.

They got to the mall and Draco was amazed by all the muggles.

"Why do I have to leave my wand in the car?" Draco asked.

"'Cause I won't have you use magic. Accident or not."

"Its that bad in there, that I might need magic?" Draco asked.

"You'll see and don't touch anything." Harry said sternly.

"There is so many muggles here."

"These people don't know what muggles are."

"Really?" Harry only have him a nod.

"What is that? Can we go into there?" Draco asked.

They were laughing and sitting into two, over stuffed leather chairs. "I know isn't football great?" Harry asked.

"Hey, I'm hungry what time is it?" Draco asked.

"It is three. Oh for the love of Merlin it is three!" Harry yelled getting up and out of the chair.

"What wrong?"Draco asked doing the same.

"They wanted us back about two hours ago." Harry yelled, dragging Draco to the Mall exit.

"Harry, I see death in our near future." Draco said, running with him to the car.
