Chapter 10: June 9, 2006 10:07am

When he reached the bottom of the stairs he knocked lightly on the doorway, he didn’t want to startle either Draco or Severus in case they were doing something delicate or dangerous.

Severus looked up crossly, “What do you want now, Potter?”

Harry took a steadying breath, “I just wanted to say I’m sorry, for everything. I acted like a coward, and was hurtful and disrespectful to both of you. I am very sorry.”

Severus raised an eyebrow, “Very well, if that’s all, we have work to do.”

Harry bowed his head and turned to leave.

Draco stepped into the room, “Wait, Harry.”

Harry stopped but did not turn around, he was just waiting for them to tell him they didn’t want him anymore.

Draco shook his head and glared a little reprovingly at Severus. Cautiously he moved to stand behind Harry and gently lay a hand on the younger man’s shoulder, “Harry, would you come talk to us for a minute? Please?”

Harry turned around slowly and nodded, “Sure.”

Draco took his hand and led him over to where Severus was still scowling. Draco hopped up onto one of the lab tables and pulled Harry to stand between his legs, back to his chest, and wrapped his arms and legs around the Gryffindor. Draco rested his chin on Harry’s shoulder and stared at Severus. “Now, the way I see it, we’re all a little hurt and confused and scared. Normally I’d take the Malfoy route and say we should just all suck it up and move on with our lives, but I know none of us will actually do that, so I propose we try something different.”

Severus glared at the blonde, “Draco, this is neither the time nor the place for this type of discussion. Harry needs to get back to his children, and you and I have work to do.”

Draco snorted against Harry’s ear, “This is the perfect time and place for this discussion, and if we put it off the wounds will just fester. Harry has a little time, Granger’s upstairs with the kids, and we have all the time in the world to finish setting up the lab.”

Severus growled, “Would you at least stand up, then. This is not the type of conversation to be had while you are wrapped around him like seaweed.”

“Does it bother you that I am wrapped around him, or that you’re not?” Draco asked then nuzzled his face into Harry’s shoulder, eyes never straying from the potions master.

Severus crossed his arms over his chest and glowered. Draco was right, he did want to wrap his arms around them both, “If we’re going to have this discussion then can we please get on with it?”

Harry sighed, he’d been silent until now, because he really had nothing to add to the conversation, but he was sure that this was going to hurt Draco and Severus’ relationship, and he didn’t want that. He started trying to pry Draco’s arms from around his chest, “This was a bad idea. I’ll go so you two can get back to your work.”

Draco scowled and slapped Harry’s hands away, “Stop that, Harry. You’re not going anywhere until I say you can. Neither of you is getting out of this that easily.”

Harry sighed and dropped his hands, “Fine, say what you have to say.”

Harry yelped when Draco bit his shoulder lightly, “Stop being such a prat, Potter. You came down here to make amends, so let me help you make them.”

Harry stiffened in Draco’s arms, “Yes, I did. I said my piece and it was rejected. I don’t know why I’m still down here. He,” and he waved at Severus, “doesn’t want me here. He made it very plain that he doesn’t want me anymore. Just let me go so I can get out of his hair.” Harry hung his head, trying to stifle the tears he could feel rising, “Please, Draco, I’ve messed it all up, let me fix what I can by leaving you both in peace.”

Draco rubbed gentle circles on Harry’s chest and stomach and sighed, “You leaving isn’t going to fix anything, luv. Sev’s just hurting because you wounded his pride. Severus?” Draco looked at the older man, making sure their eyes connected. Draco could see the pain and the worry finally crack Severus’ mask of anger.

Severus sighed and went to the younger men. He wrapped his arms around Harry’s shoulders and pulled him against his chest, “You have to learn not to take my temper to heart, Harry. It’s a defense mechanism, but I’ll try to curb it for a while.”

Draco smiled and rested his forehead against Harry’s shoulder as Severus bowed his head to kiss Harry gently. Draco squeezed Harry tight for a moment, “Are we all better now?”

Harry looked questioningly at Severus, “Are we?”

Severus nodded and kissed the tip of Harry’s nose, “We are.”

“Yay!” Draco cried out, startling both Harry and Severus. Draco turned Harry’s face toward him and kissed him fiercely. When Harry was breathless and dizzy from the kiss Draco released him and pulled Severus into a similar kiss. Harry grinned, a little laugh escaping his lips at Draco’s intense mood swing.

When Draco finally released Severus’ lips he grinned mischievously and, burying a hand in each man’s hair he pressed their faces toward one another, “Now, kiss and make up.”

Harry laughed again and let Severus pull him into a kiss. Everything felt so right here, sandwiched between these two men. He finally felt at peace. At long last he’d found where he belonged. When Severus finally broke the kiss Harry laid his head against the older man’s chest, “If I get like this again, just slap me, ok?”

Draco perked up behind him, “You mean I get to hit you without repercussions? Man, that’s like a dream come true for me.”

Harry snorted, “That’s actually a figure of speech, Draco. I didn’t think you’d take it to heart.”

Draco turned sly, “You’re the one who said it, not me.”

Severus chuckled, “I may have to separate you two yet.”

Harry bit his lip, “I just remembered, Hermione is upstairs with the twins, and she would really like to see you both. Just to say ‘hi’. If that’s ok, I mean.”

Severus and Draco both groaned, but Severus nodded, “It’s fine, Harry. Let’s go get it over with.”

As the three men disentangled themselves and headed upstairs, Harry’s heart felt lighter than it had in years. He caught Draco’s hand and, tangling their fingers together, brought it to his lips, “Thank you.”

Nodding, Draco smiled and squeezed Harry’s hand.
