The worst way
Ok so I know that it has been awhile so I will update a few chapters tonight to try and make it up to my readers.
~Chapter eleven: The worst way~
Isis went to breakfast twenty minutes later then she had intended. Severus was still there but Sirius was the one she wanted to see.
Sirius looked grave when Isis sat down. “Is it true that Severus hit you?” He asked with a growl growing slowly in his throat.
“Where did you hear that?” Isis asked as dully as she could manage.
“From my wonderful cousins.” Sirius snarled. “However they have been known to lie to me so that I’ll get in trouble. I want to know if he really hit you.”
Isis could feel herself flushing. She didn’t want Sirius to get in trouble just because Severus had a bad temper. “He didn’t hit me all that hard.”
“Did he hit you hard enough that you’re afraid to break things off?”
Isis didn’t answer rather she helped herself to some sausages instead.
Sirius sighed. “I still want to see you.”
“I want to see you too, but I need to end things with Severus first. I feel so guilty though. I mean I kissed you. I love you, but I did this backwards.”
“Isis it’s okay about kissing me. Severus is cheating too.”
“Liar!” Isis said. “If he was cheating he wouldn’t have reacted so badly.”
“He might be over compensating.” Sirius stated calmly.
Isis sighed. “You just want me to feel better about kissing you don’t you?”
“Isis…” Sirius pleaded.
“I need to be alone right now.” Isis said standing.
“I’m not lying to you.” Sirius said standing next to her. “I’m many things Isis, but I’m not a liar.”
Severus walked up to them. “Lupin! Black! Tisk tisk, I’m afraid I have to give you detentions for yelling in the great hall. It’s very rude.”
“Detain this.” Sirius said raising his middle finger.
“Oh another detention for Mr. Black.” Severus said with a satisfied smile. He turned on his heel and stalked away.
“Why did you flick him off?” Isis asked.
“Because he knows we’re fighting about him. I reckon he doesn’t want to be found out.”
Isis shook her head and walked away angry with them both. Sirius was lying. He had to be. Severus reacted so waspishly that he must have been faithful. Yet Severus hit her so hard that she bit through her lower lip.
Another two weeks passed before Sirius knew anything about what was happening between Isis and Severus, but he kept dreaming about the night he kissed her. Isis loved him, but Sirius’s timing couldn’t have been worse according to Remus.
But, thirteen days after Severus hit her, Isis received another owl from him.
It was a cold Saturday morning, in fact it had snowed a little under an inch the night before and Isis was holding her coffee in her hands so that she could warm up. She was whispering animatedly to Lily, Ann, and Ilsult about the upcoming quddich matches when Severus’s raven owl mix dropped a letter in Isis’s potatoes.
“Why is he writing me a letter when we go to the same school?” Isis grumbled as she opened the envelope.
From the moment Isis saw the hand writing she knew the tone was bad. The letters were boxy and angular, not at all like Severus’s usual handwriting, which was impossible to read.
Isis,
This is no longer working. I cannot be with you. Please do not ask me why.
It’s just not worth my time and energy. I did not mean to hurt you.
-Severus Snape
Isis began to cry. She didn’t sob she just let the tears run down her face. Lily grabbed the letter from Isis’s shaking hands and read it.
Lily seemed to have a fire lit under her. She, Ann, and Ilsult walked her out of the Great Hall. Professor McGonagall followed them.
“What’s wrong with Miss Lupin?” She asked.
“Persesus.” Lily muttered.
“Oh dear.” Professor McGonagall muttered. “Oh dear. Take her to the common room. I’ll need to speak with her momentarily.
Isis was carefully steered toward the fat lady’s portrait.
“Let’s call on Nina when she wakes up.” Lily said affectionately.
“What good will… t-that do-o?” Isis sobbed.
“It might cheer you up enough that you can talk to McGonagall. I don’t think she’s ever taken this kind of interest in a student’s love life before.”
Isis looked into the grate. The flames were flickering, but Isis was so numb she didn’t feel them. She and Severus had been doing better lately. He had been talking to her everyday after classes and been kissing her with a certain kind of passion. It was not the same passion that Sirius had, but…
McGonagall walked in to the room. “Miss Lupin, I understand that Mr. Snape hit you a few weeks ago. I need to now if he has hit you again or threatened you.”
“What?” Isis asked.
“Persesus… I mean Severus has a bad temper.”
“Persesus?”
“His real name…” Lily said with a sigh. “His real name is Persesus Evans.”
Everyone except Professor McGonagall turned around.
“My father is a squib, so he married a muggle woman. My parents had my sister Petunia and me, but we both turned out to be able to do magic.”
“Where’s your sister?” Ilsult asked.
“She didn’t want to come.” Lily said sneering, “she didn’t want to be a ‘freak.’ Anyway. Snivillus is my cousin. I’m rather glad he changed his name though. That way people don’t have to know that we’re related.”
“So that’s why he doesn’t like muggle borns.” Ann mumbled.
“And why I would never date a pure-blood.” Lily said savagely.
Then as if they had been cued, James, Sirius, Peter, and Remus burst through the door.
Lily prepared to look affronted at James, but he walked up to Isis.
“Look love, you don’t need him.” He sadly looked at Lily. “No one needs someone who doesn’t care about them. Look gave my mate here a chance.” He whispered.
Short I know but still enjoy and R&R thx
