I was released from the infirmary three days later; Lucius was waiting for me with Harry and Severus. Hermione’s funeral had already been held her parents had taken the body back to the muggle world but today we were having a memorial service a plaque was being made for her it was being placed next to the lake. The light side had been dealt a blow, we had lost our smartest fighter and not only that we had all lost a great friend. I felt horrible why was it I could stop Severus killing Albus, Draco turning evil but I could not help my friend. Unless someone had finally had enough of me dipping the scales so they decided to take things into their own hands. Lucius had talked to Albus and all had been forgiven, Molly was still devastated that not only had Percy turned but also her little Ron had fallen to. The service was beautiful with the doves flying into the sky and Fawkes singing his soulful ballad to Hermione. Walking up I read the inscription tears flowing down my face.

Yes her sacrifice was her life to help out the cause of defeating Voldemort. Well we had lost Hermione and Ron but in a way we had gained seeing as Lucius had joined our side and Severus and Draco could stop spying. I knew it was not over for me Voldemort would not rest until he had me in his power. “Kellie we are needed back at the castle Albus wishes to talk to us all,” Lucius’s voice drew me out of my thoughts allowing him to lead me back to the castle we did not talk until we were sitting in Albus’s office. Everyone was there crammed into a small room.

“Kellie as hard as this is I need to know something when you were hit by the Avada kavada did you feel anything or did it hit the child straight away?” I was confused why would they care at what happened. “The child died straight away that curse is like all the others it cannot harm me it looks like the only way to kill me is by a weapon and Voldemort knows this now.” I was looking at Lucius who was watching in awe as I told the story. Harry was sitting quietly I knew he was a bit troubled by the death of Hermione and the betrayal of Ron. “Kellie I believe it is unwise for you and Lucius to return to Malfoy Manor you are both now wanted dead, your old head girl room will be set up for you both.” I had to agree with Albus that my husband and me were in mortal danger yet another matter had to be addressed.

“The school has been put into despair by the loss of Hermione I believe we should do something to take the younger years minds off the war.” Severus looked up at me intrigued at what I had to say. “What do you believe would be wise Kellie?” Unsure as to how my idea would be taken I looked around at the order. “How about we have a Ball I believe that even making it a masked ball would make the students take their minds of the sad events that have happened” Severus gave a small chuckle we all looked at him with surprise. “And I know the best costume to wear.” I laughed yes i knew the perfect costume for myself to wear, once the meeting was over I lead Lucius to my old rooms.

Draco was waiting in the joining common room he looked at his father in anticipation. I guess he was wondering if Lucius was going to beat him for being a traitor, I knew that whilst I was in the hospital they had not talked at all so it was to my great joy that Lucius walked up to his son and hugged him tight. Knowing they needed a private moment I left the room retiring to my own where I drifted off into a light snooze.

Light kisses brought me out of my doze, smiling I wrapped my arms around Lucius drowning out all thoughts in his embrace, there were no words just the hurried undressing of each other then he thrust into me both of us crying out at the long missed contact. We had been away from each other for so long that it did not take long for us to climax. I had the perfect idea for a costume i knew not many people would know it but the idea of going to the ball dressed as Sarah from the Labyrinth was perfect for me, she was a girl thrown into a magical world where she had to survive. i was curious as to what Lucius was going to come as, but he would not tell me, The ball gown it self had taxed a lot of magic from me to make it was not easy getting the white dress to look exactly like it was in the movie Lucius would be highly peeved if he knew how many petticoats were under it. Draco had also been working on his costume none stop and we were both tired between planning the ball and doing our head duties it did not leave much time for ourselves, but knowing me and my husband were safe was enough for me.

Since Lucius had come to stay at Hogwarts with me he sat at the head table with Severus both of them watching me like a hawk. Finishing my dinner I looked over at Harry sitting next to Ginny, he was still in shock over Hermione and Ron. Standing I waltzed over to the Gryffindor table pushing my way in between Harry and Dean. “‘Hello Harry,” he looked up at me with a small smile on his face. “Hi Kellie any idea on you costume yet?.” I laughed giving him a cheeky grin. “Yes and no i am not telling you what, mind you i am curious as to what my husband is wearing as much as i would like him to wear nothing at all i think it would shock to many people.” A chorus of ewwws and grunts went around the table. Suddenly Harry let out a loud laugh. “As if it was not bad enough I had to know you sleep with him now I have images of you darling husband naked!” We both collapsed into giggles, looking up at Lucius who was watching us curiously. Suddenly Draco was sitting next to me and we were all talking about the upcoming rehearsal. Who would of ever thought that one day you would have had a Slytherin sitting at the Gryffindor table. Mind you who would of ever thought that Draco Malfoy and Harry potter could be friends, yet watching them laugh and talk I myself was surprised by the out come.

It took six weeks to get the ball completely organised I constantly had Lucius sulking cause I was always working. I thought it was cute though that he had not grown bored of me. Then a day before the ball we received shocking news. The marriage law had been repelled and all who had been forced to marry by it were allowed to divorce. Lucius and I both received an owl over dinner, the colour drained from my face as I read the news, Draco watched me look up at Lucius in despair. What if he would divorce me now that we did not have to be married? Grey eyes clashed with me and I saw the same sorrow mirrored in his eyes. Both indicating with our heads we left the hall meeting up at our room.

“So I guess you got the same letter as me then.” I nodded waiting for him to tell me it was over. “What do you want to do Kellie? When this law first came about and I petitioned for you I never expected to fall in love with the one type of person I had loathed for most of my life. But now I fear if you leave me I will not be able to live with out you.” Realization hit me, he really did love me this proud pureblood wizard had just laid his soul and heart bare for me. “I don’t want to divorce either Lucius I love you so much sometimes I just don’t know how to think, breath or even move.” His strangled groan took me by surprise as he crushed me into his embrace. Suddenly my arm started to burn pain piercing through it, screaming I collapsed onto the ground next to Lucius both of us grasping our arms. The door flung open to Draco and Severus running into the room both holding their arms. “What do we do, he is obviously summoning the death eaters to a meeting we cannot just sneak in he would know we are there.” I agreed with Draco yet the only way he knew that we would be there was if he read our minds. “I will go he will not be able to tell I am there. I will use a glamour to hide my size and shape.” Lucius was about to stop me but I held my hand up. “No Lucius I have to do this we still need a spy there.” Not looking back I apperated to Voldemorts new lair. That was the only bonus of carrying the dark mark was that we always knew where he was.
