Unlike a Riddle

Jessy dropped the letter and turned to the Flint\'s.

"I\'m sorry Mr. and Mrs. Flint, I have some buiseness to attend to. I will return late tonight. Thank you for everything though."

Jessy didn\'t wait for their questions, she rushed upstairs, put on her best pair of black slacks, and a black tank top, and apparated to the Burrow. Jessy walks up to the door of the small house and stands in the snow, not noticing the cold seeping into her bones. Before she can knock, the door opens and an older woman is staring at her, startled.

"Good evening, is Mr. and Mrs. Weasley available?" She asks nervously.

"Arthur!" The woman calls into the house, not looking away from Jessy.

Within seconds an older man steps into the doorway behind his wife.

"Ms. Riddle, can we help you?"

At the mention of her name, the woman\'s eyes go wide and she backs up into her husband.

"I wanted to send my condolances." Jessy tells them quietly.

Tears start to form in the woman\'s eyes and she looks up to her husband.

"Ms. Riddle, please come inside." The man invites.

Jessy follows them into a small kitchen where a group of younger looking red-heads are sitting. They all look up and stare at her cautiously.

"Riddle." The youngest looking boy glares at her.

"Ronald Weasley." The older woman tries to make her voice stern.

"Good evening everyone, my name is Jessica Riddle." Jessy introduces herself.

"Jessica, this is Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George, and Ron. Our children."

She gives each one a small smile, only to be rewarded with glares and angry mutterings.

"I am Arthur Weasley and this is my wife, Molly Weasley."

"I wanted to ask you something Mr. Weasley." Jessy says, turning to the man.

"Please, call me Arthur."

"Arthur, I wanted to help your family."

Ron, the youngest Weasley, looks at her warily.

"Jessica, we\'re done with your games. I know that your boyfriend Malfoy, had something to do with this." He says, standing up next to her.

Jessy stares at him a second before answering him.

"Ron, I understand how you\'d be mad at me. The reason he did what he did is because I took a claim off that he had placed on me. My father gave him the order to kill someone that he know would hurt me when I took my claim off."

There were gasps all around the room and whispers from the older boys.

"So he did do it?" Ron asked quietly.

Jessy nods, "I\'m so very sorry. I never thought that he would do anything like that. I didn\'t find out about it until this morning."

"It\'s not your fault Jessica."

"Please, let me help your family. It\'s the least I can do."

"What do you want from us Riddle?" This question came from the oldest, Bill.

"I want to give you the money to hire a nurse that specializes in helping \'lost causes\' such as your daughter. She will work with her to help her remember and to come out of her seclusion."

"We couldn\'t accept that." Molly speaks up.

"Mom, I think she\'s got a point. What if we could get Ginny back?" Charlie asks quietly.

"Your mother\'s right, we can\'t accept that." Arthur speaks above his sons.

"Alright then. Ms. Riddle, we accept." Bill tells her.

Jessy looks between the family and starts to cry. Fred and George walk up to her and put their arms around her.

"Jess, we know you didn\'t mean for this to happen. And we will accept the money and the help. But on one condition."

"What\'s that?" She asks quietly, looking at the floor.

George...or Fred...puts their hand under her chin and lifts it to look at them, "You have to come as much as possible to see Ginny."

A small smile creeps into her face and the twins pull her into a hug. A knock at the door startles the family. Jessy pulls away from the twins, and steps back further into the room until she backs into Ron. Arthur walks to the door and opens it.

"My Lord." They all greet her father and bow their heads.

"Good evening Arthur."

"Good evening my Lord. What brings your to our home?" He asks, trying to keep his voice from shaking.

"I heard from a very reliable source that my daughter was here?"

"My Lord, if I may make a request..." Charlie speaks up, walking to stand in front of Jessy.

"I\'m listening."

"Will you allow Jessy to pay for our sisters nurse for however long it takes to get her back to health. And allow her to visit here as much as she wishes?"

The Dark Lord looks around the room with a cold smile on his face.

"On one condition."

"Anything." Charlie jumps up from his seat.

"Wait. Charlie, let Jessy answer for herself." Arthur scolds his son.

Charlie\'s face flushes and steps back a step. Jessy walks out from behind the twins with Ron standing right behind her.

"I\'ll do anything for this, Father." She says softly.

"You will go back to the Malfoy Manor and stay there the rest of the holidays, you may visit the Weasley\'s home during the daytime hours, but I order you to stay at the Malfoys. You are also going to give your hand in marriage to Mr. Draco Malfoy next summer."

Charlie shakes his head and steps forward again.

"I apologize Lord, for this inconvienience. I will never ask Jessica to do that."

"Charlie, please." Jessy steps in front of him, her hand on his shoulder.

"Father, I will accept these orders. I will return to the Manor, and stay there. I will also give my hand in marriage to Draco Malfoy. So long as you allow me to pay for the assistence for this family and their Daughter. And I will be allowed to visit as much as I wish."

Her father merley noded his head before disapparating.

"Jessica, you should never have to do this. We can\'t let you."

"It\'s too late Molly. What\'s done is done and so long as you and your husband are happy, so am I."

Molly started to cry and she took Jessy into her arms, hugging her tightly and thanking her over and over again. Another knock on the door interrupts, but this time Jessy merely walks up to Fred and George, takes their arms and walks into the living room with them and Ron to talk Quidditch. Jessy could hear Malfoy\'s voice in the kitchen, so she tried to lean into George, looking tired. Fred grinned at George and Ron before grabbing Ron upstairs. Jessy leaned her head on George\'s shoulder and closed her eyes; within seconds she was out.

"Jessy." A voice calls out to her.

"Jessy." The voice calls to her again, only this time it\'s rougher.

She could feel herself move a little bit before someone put her into a setting position. Jessy opened her eyes lazily and rubbed at them for a second. She opens them fully and looks around. Draco is sitting next to her, talking over her head to George, Ron is on the other side of the room glancing over at Draco with Fred next to him.

"Jess is up!" Ron announces looking at her.

Jessy groans and stretches out on the couch laying her legs across George\'s lap and her head in Draco\'s lap.

"Jess, my dad wants us home soon." Draco tells her.

"Hey Ron, where\'re your parents?" She asks, ignoring Draco.

He points to the kitchen where they can hear a hushed conversation. Jessy gets up, motioning for Draco to stay where he is. She walks to the kitchen where Arthur, Molly, Bill and Charlie are talking quietly.

"Hey guys."

"Jessy, you\'re up. Let me get you some tea." Molly offers, ushering her into a chair next to Bill.

Jessy sits down and looks around the table.

"Have you decided who you want for a nurse?" She asks curiously.

Bill shakes his head and glares at his father.

"Arthur, you can pick anyone you want. Regardless of the pay. Please, do this for me."

Arthur looks at Jessy sadly and pulls out an envelope, handing it to her. Bill and Charlie stare at their father. Jessy looks at the letter and then back to Arthur who motions for her to open it. She opens the parchment and looks down:

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Weasley,

My name is Brianna Zabini, and I\'ve heard about your daughter from some of the healers at St. Mungo\'s. I would be greatly honored to take this case. I understand that times are hard for your family, and that my job requires a high pay, but I am willing to work something out.

Please get back to me soon,

Brianna Zabini.

"I\'ll pay for her if this is the one you want. I\'ll do it yearly." Jessy tells him quietly, not looking up from the piece of parchment.

Jessy hears Molly gasp from behind her and Bill\'s chair scrape against the floor before a thud. Jessy looks up, and then down. Molly is laying on the floor and Bill is fanning her face with a fan.

"I\'m sorry, did I say something?" Jessy asks, alarmed.

"No. She\'s just...umm...that\'s a lot of money Jess." Charlie tries to explain as he looks at the letter.

"Yes, but she\'s the best out there." Arthur counters.

"He\'s right."

Everyone turns to see Draco in the hallway staring at the parchment.

"Then it\'s done. Arthur, send a reply, talk to the hospital and I\'ll have the money transferred to your account." Jessy tells them firmly.
