Things Happen

A/N: Hope everyone likes this chapter it isn’t one of my favorites, but hopefully everyone else likes it.


“Please Mummy, Please can I go with Uncle Harry and James to Hogsmeade so I can pick out my birthday present?” Alyson begged Hermione and since it was two days before Alyson’s birthday and four days before Hermione’s due date she decided to let Aly go with Harry.

“Ok, ok you may go, but be on your best behavior, Promise.”

“I promise Mummy” Alyson called as she ran from the room.

Hermione lay back against the pillows on her bed and had just closed her eyes when there was a knock on the door. “Who ever it is come in just please don’t make me get up.”

“Ahh so I take it your not feeling well” said Severus coming into the bedroom. Hermione smiled at him ever since the dinner they had things have been great between them.

“I feel like I weigh 900 pounds. I can’t wait for this baby to be born and he or she better weigh thirty-five pounds.” Hermione laughed at his startled expression

“They don’t actually weigh that much do they?”

“Oh man I hope not. Alyson was a dainty little six and a half pounds. So I am hoping that this baby is around there too.”

“Ok good. Do you want to play some chess with me?”

“Sure, but only as long as it is muggle chess. I think wizard’s chess is kind of barbaric.”

“That is why wizard’s chess is fun and muggle chess is not.”

Hermione laughed “Fine Wizards chess it is.

They both sat on the bed playing chess for a couple hours before they decided to head down to the great hall for lunch. Severus helped Hermione to her seat and even tried to put food on her plate before she stopped him with a look. They were about half way through lunch when the doors to the great hall were thrown open and Harry Potter stood in the door way with blood pouring down the side of his head.

“Harry what in the world happened?” Hermione asked as she waddled to his side.

Harry looked at Hermione and then at Snape “Some one took James and Alyson. I was attacked from behind and someone just grabbed them an apparated away. Oh Hermione I am so sorry.” Tears poured down Harry’s face “The Aurors are looking for them, I need to tell Ginny.” He said and you could tell he was in shock

Hermione turned to Severus who looked scared, but he looked angry too. “Oh Severus where is my baby. I want Alyson back.”

“Hermione I don’t know where she is, but I will get her back, I promise, and I am going to start at the top of my list. You go back to your rooms I will come get you when I have any news. I will concentrate on Alyson you need to concentrate on keeping this baby safe.” Severus gave her a quick kiss and headed off of Hogwarts grounds.

Severus Apparated into a home that he knew very well and he was standing in front of two people that he had trusted with his life on occasion.

“Lucius, Draco where is my daughter and James Potter? I want them both back.”

“Severus we have no idea what you are talking about.”

“I some how doubt that. I want them both back now. Why did you take them anyway?

“Like we told you already we don’t know what you are talking about, but let’s say we did know what you were talking about, what do we get out of it?”

“Well first of all you get to live, but if one hair on their heads has been touched I will kill you anyway.”

“Such violence Severus who would have thought you would care about a mudbloods kid.”

Severus did the first thing that came to his head and his fist connected with Lucius’s face knocking him to the ground blood gushing from his broken nose.

“Damn it Snape, why did you have to do that? I don’t know who exactly took them, but I heard it was someone who wanted revenge on Potter and he only wanted Potters kid, but apparently your kid wouldn’t leave him alone so this guy took them both.

Severus disappeared with a pop and reappeared in Knockturn alley, after a look over his shoulder he walked down a side Alley and came up to a door that was discreetly hidden.

A small man with stringy black hair stood in the doorway. “Ahhh Snape it’s been awhile. How have you been?”

“Anton I do not have time for pleasantries, I want to know what you have heard about the kidnapping of Harry Potter’s son.”

“Well I heard that someone who happened to be at Hogwarts at the same time as Harry Potter wanted to make him suffer so he took the Potter’s oldest child, but accidentally took someone else’s kid also.”

“Anton, who took them”

Anton was someone that Snape considered a friend he always helped Severus when he needed the help and didn’t tell anyone else what Snape was looking for.


“Severus, why are you so interested in Potter’s kid? I thought you hated Potter.”

“I’m not interested in Potter’s kid I am interested in the other kid. She is my daughter.”

“Well congratulations Severus.”

“Anton, who took them and where are they?” Severus growled in frustration.

“He was in here bragging about his plans yesterday, his name is Michael Trivets I believe he was a year younger then Potter and in Hufflepuff. I don’t know where he is right now though, but he does have an apartment in Diagon Alley.”

“Thank you Anton, I owe you big.” Severus ran around the corner and headed into Diagon Alley and as much as he hated to do it he knew the exact two people who could help him and he walked into Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.

“My eyes have betrayed me Severus Snape Potion’s master for Hogwarts has stepped foot into out store.” A shocked voice called from behind the counter.

“Mr. Weasley I do not have time for jokes right now, I need to know if you know who Michael Trivets is and where he lives.”

“Yeah we know who he is and where he is. Why do you ask?”

“Mr. Weasley this person kidnapped James Potter and Alyson Snape.” Severus watched the Weasley become even paler then before and saw him pull out his wand.

“GEORGE come on.” Fred called to his twin and the three of them left the store with Fred Weasley leading the way and explaining things to his brother.

They stopped outside of their destination and knocked on the door. It didn’t take long for the door to open, but when he saw who was standing on the other side of his door he tried to slam it shut again, but George Weasley put his foot in the doorway to keep it from closing and the three of them walked into the apartment.

“You two take care of him” Snape said while he rushed to the only room with a closed door and as soon as he opened it his world was turned right again.

“Daddy, Uncle Severus” Both children yelled and ran into his arms

“Are you two ok? He didn’t hurt you did he?”

“No daddy we are ok, but I want to go home now.”

After the Aurors came for the kidnapper and Severus thanked the twins for their help. Severus headed back to Hogwarts with the kids.

As soon as they stepped through the doors into Hogwarts, Ginny Potter was there and pulling the kids into her arms and then to his surprise she also hugged him.

“Severus you need to hurry to the hospital wing, Hermione went into labor.” She saw him turn white and was a little worried he might pass out. “Go, I will watch Alyson and we wont leave the school.” He nodded and ran off towards the hospital wing.
