Brothers Just Can’t Leave Well Enough Alone
12/13/03: A/N : Ok this story has gone stagnant. I just can\'t write much more. If anyone has a few little plot bunnies I would be happy to take them and see where they lead me. Thanks you for your patience.

Chapter 10: Brothers Just Can’t Leave Well Enough Alone
*********************************************~*~*******************************************
“Ginny, I love you.”
The whispered words flew straight to her heart. She snuggled into his desperate embrace loving the feel of his arms around her. After a few moments she lifted her self up and pushed Draco onto his back. Looking into his silver eyes making sure he saw into her own heart she gave his own words back to him.
“Draco, I have loved you since the first kiss you gave me.”
Ginny’s heart ached when she saw the army of emotions parade across his face. Joy. Hurt. Pain. Anger that slowly faded to serenity. Ginny smile at Draco. She could only imagine the scars on his heart but she hoped that one day she could help him heal a bit.
*********************************************~*~*******************************************
Ginny and Draco spent the rest of the day apart, as he had to supervise a potions study group using the classroom that day. Ginny spent the day writing letters. Her mother would be happy to hear that she was dating someone though Ginny didn’t say whom because she knew how her father and the majority of her brothers felt about Draco’s family.
Ginny wrote to Hermione and told her about Draco. She knew her friend would understand and probably agree that she should keep the news from Ron and Harry as well. Just a couple of hours after she posted her letter with one of the school’s owls she was lounging in her sitting room waiting for Draco to come up for a private dinner in her room when the flames in the hearth turned a brilliant green and Hermione’s head appeared.
“Hi Mya, what’s up? “Ginny asked then she saw the look of concern on Hermione’s face. “Hermione what’s wrong?”
“Harry and Ron were here visiting when your owl arrived. They know Ginny. They just apparated, they’ll be at the gates by now.”
Ginny’s eyes widened at the news. “Bloody hell, Mya. Thanks for the tip. I had better try to head them off.”
“Good luck, Gin. I am so happy for you.” Hermione smiled and disappeared from the flames.
Ginny rushed from her rooms and Hurried down to the entrance hall hoping that she wouldn’t be too late. After rushing down the three flights of stairs and turned the corner, she groaned at the sight that met her eyes. There was a crowd of students filling the entrance hall their attention focused on the three men facing each other.
Ginny fought her way through the students who only moved when they realizedt a t a teacher was trying to make their way through.
“Stay away from my sister Malfoy.” Ron was saying furiously when she finally got close enough to hear.
“Weasel isn’t your sister a little too old for you to be threatening her boyfriends.” Draco shot back with his customary sneer.
“You aren’t her boyfriend. She would never.” Harry spoke up.
“Wouldn’t she? Why don’t you ask her, Potty?” Draco said his eyes lightening a bit when he saw her approach.
Ron and Harry spun around to face her only to find her with her wand out held casually in her hand, her arms crossed over her chest.
When she opened her mouth her voice was dangerously quiet. “If there are any students still here in five seconds I’ll start deducting points and handing out detentions.”
As soon as the words left her mouth the noise was deafening as hundreds of feet hurried to make themselves scarce.
“Ron, Harry. Why are you here?” Ginny said quietly.
As she thought he would, Ron spoke first. “We’re here to talk some sense into you. Geez Gin, Malfoy? Don’t you remember how he treated all of us?”
“Don’t you remember that he risked his life for us?” Ginny shot back.
Ron was quiet for a moment. “I know that but it doesn’t excuse the seven years of torment that he put us through.”
“I never said it did Ron. Can’t you forget the past and see him for who he is now?” Ginny asked.
Harry spoke up before Ron could answer her. “Gwe jwe just want to make sure that you know what you are getting yourself into. I really don’t believe he has changed all that much. It hasn’t been that long since he threw his last insults at the four of us.”
“Are you both so thick that you can’t understand why I threw those insults at you that whole last year. I was a spy, dammit. Just like Snape, I couldn’t get close to you, any of you.” Draco said confronting the other Order members. “You knew about Snape being a spy but Dumbledore never told you about me. It was simply too dangerous. I was being watched all the time. Did you really think that Crabbe and Goyle were my friends? They were my sodding keepers.”
Draco ran his hands through his hair. How was he supposed to make them see? They were letting prejudices from a decade ago make them blind. It didn’t matter; he had nothing to hide now, the Dark Lord finally gone, Crabbe, Goyle, and his father all dead.
“Can’t the two of you give me a chance?” Draco said quietly. He was getting so tired of having to prove himself over and over again.
