Ch.1

It was a sunny day in May at Hogwarts. Harry Potter was sitting in a chair in the common room studying for a double Potions exam. He had just gotten out Charms class with Professor Flitwick. Harry was supposed to be studying formulas for a complicated wormwood asphodel potion, but he was too busy thinking about his girlfriend, Cho Chang. She asked Harry out on a date two years ago and he was pondering on what to do for their anniversary. He knew that after this year, it would possibly the last time he ever saw his lover again. Since Cho was preparing to become a journalist (at the Daily Prophet) and he knew that she wanted to travel, Harry wanted to make his last few weeks with Cho a time that she would never forget.

So Harry decided to go back into his dormitory and write an owl to Lupin to ask him for some advice.

Dear Lupin,
I need your help. Cho is going to be leaving for Hogwarts in a couple of weeks and our anniversary is in a couple of days. If you could send me some advice on how to make it special for her, I would really appreciate it. I really want this anniversary to be special for her because I think I\'m truly in love with her. Oh and Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore say \"Hi.\" I do have one more thing to tell you before I leave, Ron and Hermione are dating now, but lately she\'s been acting strange. I mean thever ver hold hands in front of me, but they do around everyone else. Maybe they just don\'t want to appear like they\'re in love or something. Honestly, I don\'t know what it is. Well, I\'m going now.

After looking at the letter for a couple of minutes, Harry sent Hedwig out of her cage to send the letter to his old DADA teacher. While Hedwig was out, Harry walked into the common room to finish studying for his Potions exam tomorrow. Hermione and Ron walked in the room quietly and sat by Harry.

\"Harry, what have you been doing all day?\" said Ron.

\"Oh, I was just studying for Snape\'s Double Potion exam…you know how it is, Ron.\"

\"Right, sure do! Snape\'s a pain in the arse.\"

\"You should not talk about your professor like that,\" said Hermione.

\"Really?\" said Harry.

\"Why are you taking up for that stupid git? Said Ron.\"

\"I absolutely have no idea, whatsoever\" Said Hermione

Ron smirked at Hermione.

\"So, Ron, how are your classes going?\"

\"Believe it or not, I\'ve been getting good marks with out copying Hermione\'s papers!\"

\"It\'s about time Ronald Weasley, I\'ve waited years to hear you say that. And that\'s why you got Prefect. {Hermione said this in a sarcastic miss-know-it all manner.} No offense to you, but I thought Harry should have gotten it instead because you are so irresponsible and lazy!\"

\"Well, Miss Know-It- All, you obviously haven\'t been listening to ANYTHING I\'ve said! I guess you have been too busy talking to your books.\"

\"Fine! You can insult me about my intelligence while everyone knows how much of a git you are and how you cheated off of Harry\'s papers!\"

Hermione picks up her bag and leaves for the girls\' dormitory. Pavarti and Lavender look amazed at Hermione storming in the room.

Pavarti looks at Hermione and walks toward her bed while Lavender pretends she\'s studying for Muggle Studies.

\"Hermy, what\'s the matter?\"

\"Nothing, Ron\'s just acting like himself. And I thought he actually changed for the better.\"

\"Aww, don\'t worry about it, at least he\'s nicer than he was last year.\"

\"Nicer? Nicer! Oh well I don\'t think he\'s nicer if he told me that I talk to my books and he also mumbled that I had smelly hair as I walked out of the common room.\"

\"Did he really say that?\"

\"Oh yes, he did, and Harry told me that he\'s even called me a walrus!\"

\"I\'m so sorry Hermy, don\'t let him get to you. He just gets mad easily, I know he really doesn\'t mean it. I mean, Ron\'s madly infatuated with you. I\'ve heard him say how nice you looked at the Yule Ball last winter. And he said that you could give Cho a run for her money!\"

\"Ron said that about me?\"

\"Yes, he did Harry told me.\"

\"Wow, Cho is like the prettiest girl at Hogwarts. I never thought anyone would compare her to me!\"

\"Well, Hermione, RON did and that means a lot!

\"I just don\'t like the way he\'s been treating me lately though.

\"Maybe that Luna Lovegood isn\'t so good after all. I mean she hangs around you and Ginny all of the time, Ron and you never have a chance to be alone.\"

\"I heard that Luna liked him or something.\"

\"Liked him?\"

\"Yes.\"

\"No wonder he\'s been acting like a git lately! His head went up his arse!\"

\"Pavarti!\"

\"Well, I\'m saying it like it is. I really think that Luna does like Ron, she sings silly songs to him and ALWAYS she tosses her hair around him!

\"I don\'t think so Pavna ina is just a dumb blonde.\"

Lavender walks toward Hermione and Pavarti after a pretend study session.

\"Hey, don\'t say that! I\'m blonde and you KNOW I\'m smart.\"

\"Yeah, yeah, yeah.\" Said Pavarti and Hermione

\"Well, I decided to stop studying for my Muggle Studies exam because I couldn\'t stop listening to you talking about Ron\'s attitude and Luna\'s crush on him. I can\'t believe that you didn\'t even think that she really liked him. Luna is all over Ron. She even flashed him during a Quidditch game!\"

\"She did what?\" (Both in unison.)

\"Yeah, she sure did and he told everyone about it.\"

\"Well, he didn\'t tell me!\" said Hermione

\"That\'s obvious,\" said Pavarti

\"She also told me that she would do stuff with Ron if you guys ever broke up or even came close to it.\"

\"Ron will never do anything with that whore!\"

\"You never know, Ron can get pretty desperate.\" Said Pavarti

\"Well, forget Ron, I\'m going to bed, it\'s getting late.\"

\"Good night Hermione.\"

\"Night.\"

Hermione prepares for bed around ten o\'clock P.M. while Pavarti and Lavender head back to the common room to socialize. It\'s Friday night and Hermione is sad and all alone in the girls\' bedroom. She thinks about Ron and Luna. It makes her miserable.

\"Wow, I\'m such a loser.\"

\"Yeah, you sure are.\"

\"Who are you?\"

\"Hello, I\'m Ron\'s girlfriend, Luna Lovegood, and you are?\"

\"Hermione Granger.\"

\"The walrus?\"

\"Oh Merlin, I\'ve heard so many things about you.\"

\"Great.\"

\"Well, I know that you are Ron\'s ex-girlfriend and he only asked you out because he said no other guy at Hogwarts would want an ugly bushy-brown haired girl like you. Ha ha.

\"Hello my sexy Luna.\"

\"Hello my Iddle Ronnikins.\"

\"Give me a nice snog.\"

Hermione watches Ron and Luna snogging and groping each other. She finally wakes up in a cold sweat.

\"Hermione, what\'s wrong?\" said Ginny

\"Oh, nothing. I\'m fine, just a bad dream, that\'s all.\"

\"I\'ll go get some water and take you to Madam Pompfrey.\"

\"No Gin, it\'s all right, just bring me some water.\"

\"OK.\"

Ginny brings Hermione some water and Hermione gulps it all in one swallow. She also realizes that Hermione is a prefect and she shouldn\'t be in the room. Hermione told her that Pavarti and Lavender wanted her to stay the night in their room so she said that would be the only rule she would break that year.

Hermione finishes drinking her water and she leaves the dormitory.

\"I\'m supposed to be in there, I shouldn\'t have been in here!\"

\"Yes\", said a voice.

\"Harry?\"

\"Yes?\"

\"What are you doing out here?\"

\"Making sure that everyone is safe from Lord Voldemort.\"

\"Ugh, okay Harry.\"

\"I had to make you scared.\"

\"What?\"

\"You know why you weren\'t in your bedroom?\"

\"Why?\"

\"Because I casted a spell on you tonight.\"

\"What?\"

\"Yeah, Ron has been telling me a lot about Miss Luna Lovegood. He said that she\'s a real cutie and he wants to experiment with her. That\'s why he\'s been treating you so bad lately. He told me that if he treats you like an animal, maybe you would dump him. I put a truth serum on him and I put a dream spell on you so would see how he really mean he can be.\"

Harry runs to hug an upset Hermione.

\"Why do I always have to have the bad luck?\"

\"Hermione, you are fine, don\'t worry!\"

\"No I\'m ugly, I can\'t believe he\'s up to screwing Luna!\"

\"Actually, he\'s not, but she wants to fool around with him.\"

\"Oh, well at least you have someone to fool around with. Ron and I are over.\"

\"Not exactly…\"

\"What?\"

\"Well, Ron\'s a ladies man you know---he said that maybe he could date the both of you.\"

\"Oh, he\'s GOT to be kidding!\"

\"No, he loves you Hermione, but I love you even more.\"

Suddenly, Hermione stops hugging Harry and she looks at his piercing green eyes while he stares at her sweaty bushy-brown hair and tear stained face.

\"Are you crazy?\"

\"No, I\'m not, I really do love you.\"

\"But I thought you loved Cho.\"

\"Please! Cho and I are going to breakup.\"

\"When?\"

\"I plan to dump her on our anniversary, because she is just using me to talk about Cedric. I can not stand being with her, she cries too much and she always wants to snog.\"

\"But she\'s the prettiest girl at Hogwarts!\"

\"She\'s not as pretty as you, Hermione.\"

\"I don\'t think you can see me Harry.\"

\"Yes I can, I can see you looking deeply into my eyes.\"

Hermione starts to dart to the Prefects\' door.

\"Mione, if you walk in that door, then so will I.\"

Hermione opens her door and shuts it into Harry\'s face.

\"Wait, please let me in!\"

Hermione sits on her bed and begins to change into her gown.

\"Please leave!\"

\"No, just let me explain why I never told you!\"

\"I don\'t think so Harry, you waited seven years to tell me that you loved me.\"

\"Actually Hermione, I fell in love with you at the Yule Ball too. And I noticed how pretty you were when we rode Buckbeak. Just let me in!\"

\"NO!\"

\"For one minute.\"

\"OK, sixty seconds for the Boy Who Lived.\"

Hermione puts on her nightgown and robe and opens the door.
