Rihanna's Son
The Order was meeting at 12 Grimmauld Place for its monthly meeting when the owl arrived for Remus Lupin. It landed in the middle of lunch. The Weasley clan was sitting there, minus Percy and Bill, who was having 'lunch' with his new wife, Fleur. Remus sat next to Harry, who had finally started to fill out and look less like a boy and more like the man his father had been. Severus, on the run from Voldemort and his Deather Eaters after refusing to kill Draco Malfoy for his failure to eliminate dumbeldore, was on Lupin's other side. He was the only one who would sit next to the former Potions Master. Evidence from Dumbledore's office had exonerated Snape, but that didn't make him the most like person at the table still. If it ever would. Hermione was upstairs with Ginny Weasley doing what only teenaged girls could do; gossip and giggle.
Lupin took the letter off the bird's leg, fed it some bread, then unrolled the parchment. His eyebrows rose and he was smiling by the time he reached the bottom of the paper.
"It's from my sister! Rihanna asks me to come to her in America. She requests my immediate attendance." Remus looked at Severus, smiling. He knew the two of them had gotten along well while she had been working at the small bookstore in Diagon Alley. Then, she'd left five years ago, with no word to friends or family, hardly packing anything at all. She'd been threatened by remaining Death Eaters and everyone assumed that she was scared of attack.
Severus kept his features carefully schooed, but he wanted to grab the paper from the werewolf and find out where Ri was. They'd been in the middle of a no-strings attached affair when she'd packed up and left. He still missed her curled up next to him when he first woke in the morning.
"Do you need someone to go with you, Lupin?" He asked carefully. Everyone stopped and looked at him. Evidently they weren't used to hearing him offer his services to the werewolf or anyone for that matter. "Miss Lupin was a good friend of mine while in school. She was in Ravenclaw and thus wasn't such a prat like her brother's friends."
"It's alright, Severus. She didn't mention bringing anyone with me. Besides, you're a hunted man. You're needed here to teach the children." The Trio wasn't attending school this term, instead being privately tutored by Snape and other Order members in between their search for the **horcruxes**.
"Joy of joys. Please excuse me. I have a letter to write." Severus stood and left before anyone could comment on what had happened between the two former professors. He didn't need any of those dunderheads knowing that he and Rihanna had had a relationship. Hell, even Remus had been unaware of how close the two of them had been. He smiled as he hurried up the stairs to his room, wondering if he would be able to talk to his former lover, to be with her again.
