A Man Best Forgotten

Merlin’s beard, how he hated these staff meetings! They were always thoroughly dull, and seeing as how half the staff was asleep by the end, they were pointless as well. It had been a year since the final battle, and Hogwarts was reopening. It was hard to believe that the battle was finally over. After he had “killed” Albus, everything had happened rather quickly.
He hadn’t actually killed Dumbledore, it was a hoax that had been planned years before, just in case of situations like that. Together the other members of the Order, the members of the DA, and surprisingly, the Malfoys, finally defeated Voldemort. Everyone was shocked that the Malfoys had changed sides, but they had proved vital, with Draco and Lucius together weakening Voldemort enough that the Golden Child could come in and mutter his little love curse, finally defeating Voldemort and earning him eternal fame and glory, ect. Honestly, had it not been for Lucius and Draco, Voldemort wouldn’t have even felt Potter’s little charm. It was amazing how famous you could get with a little luck and smarter friends.
Speaking of the Golden Boy’s talented friends, Dumbledore's voice cut through his reverie. “…Exciting news regarding Hermione Granger, she will be the new addition to the teaching staff. Seeing as how I, in my brilliance if I do say so myself, have finally discovered and countered the jinx Tom put on the job of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Severus will remain in that position. Ms. Granger will become our new Potions professor.”
Severus could almost leap with joy…not. “Exactly what we need, a member of the Golden Trio back again, just when I thought I had gotten rid of the whole passel of brats. It was too good to be true I suppose, we had gotten rid of the last Weasly last year, so this is going to be another form of hell to make up for it.” Albus was saying something else. “…when she was kidnapped by Bellatrix during the battle, her memory was completely erased by Voldemort himself. She can’t remember anything that happened. The intriguing thing is, she retained all of her book knowledge, so she is still one of the brightest young witches in the wizarding community.”
“She really can’t remember anything, about Hogwarts or the battle, or anything?” asked Minerva. “I’m afraid not” Dumbledore replied. Severus actually found himself almost pitying the witch, almost being the key word. HE was still furious that the know it all brat was going to be around again. Albus was still talking about how Granger wouldn’t remember anyone. “Professor Granger now,” thought Severus bitterly. He really wanted Albus to stop talking, his head was starting to throb.
