I got the idea for this story from reading Betrothal by Katharin. This story starts off a couple of hours after she became betroth to Draco Malfoy. This is my idea and my version of what happens.

Summary: Story is set during Harry, Ron and Hermione 6th Year at Hogwarts. Hermione and Ginny get caught up in a couple of weird laws put out by the Ministry. This is my version of the WIKTT Marriage Challenge, which I know is long over with.
Prologue: Betrothal Decree
Hermione Granger who is at a desk, writing an essay for Professor Snape. Stops and looks off into space with a bewildered look on her face. ‘I can’t believe what has happened to me today!’
‘It all started this morning when I got the Daily Prophet, and inside was that story concerning a new decree from the Ministry of Magic. Which was about a new law that went into effect today which stated any single pureblood male could select from a list of over 6900 eligible muggle-born witches to become his betroth. This way he could introduce new blood into his family bloodline. All the male had to do was pay the Ministry 1000 galleons and she immediately was betroth to the male and became his property, and everything she owned was then owned by him. Then he could marry her anytime he wanted, after he turned 18 years of age.
And then within 6 hours of receiving the Daily Prophet, I received an owl form the Ministry of Magic congratulating me on my betrothal to Draco Malfoy.
They reminded me in the letter that a contract was now in affect and that I was now betroth to Draco Malfoy, and considered his property. They also reminded me that from now on my family was the Malfoys and I was to go home with Draco Malfoy on all holidays and summer vacations. I was also informed that all my property now belonged to Draco Malfoy. The Ministry also reminded me that we were not allowed to consummate until we were legally married by a cleric, but they encourages and anticipates affection between us. Also it was solely up to Draco Malfoy if I was to finish school or just wait for him at his Parents home until he became eligible to marry me.
Then immediately after I read this letter, Malfoy found me and I got into that row with him. While we were arguing out in the hall, Professor Snape hears us and asks Malfoy what he is doing out of class, and Malfoy tells him he is discussing his contract with his new wife and while doing so he mouths off to the him. Snape then gives Draco and me detention tonight. Then he welcomes me to Slytherin House and tells me to come by his office later to get a revised schedule of my classes, and that’s when my uniform changed to Slytherin colors.’
Hermione leans back in her chair, ‘that’s not even the worst part, what happen when I went into Snape classroom for the detention’ blows her mind away, just thinking about it sends shivers down her spine and she has a sudden urge to vomit.
