Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Prologue
Pairing: Harry/Hermione/Draco? (? Because I’m not sure which/both/or should a boy get the girl ^.^)
Warnings: No lemony goodness till future chapters…after the whole smutty build up. May have a little blood play…so to speak. Am professional procrastinator, so updates may not come often, but will promise, however, one update a week at least.
Summary: This is a response to CherryColaChick’s challenge for a H/D/Hr Veela story. Draco and Harry are descended from long lines of Veela heiritage. Upon their ‘coming of age’, or Liebzeit, they both discover their mate to be none other than the elusive Hermione Granger. Hermione, on the hand, has been dealing with some issues of her own lately, and isn’t about to welcome them into her heart anytime soon.
Prologue
In the beginning-as most creation stories begin, there were several entities-or as we like to say, ‘gods’. They were the powers that be-with infinite power and energy at their finger tips. And they were bored. As all beings do out of boredom, they began to experiment. They began by creating a vast garden. Many had different ideas on what plants should be allowed entrance, or what animal could live in what area. Eventually, they created Earth as we know it.
They loved their Earth, but each felt lonely, and grew envious of the ‘humans’ they had created. They lived the lives of which they longed for, filled with such adventure. Sure, they could go down to their garden disguised as a human, play with the animals, and taste the fruits of their creation-but what was the point? Sure enough, many began to leave the heavenly Utopia they lived in, and used their powers to rid themselves of their immortality. The power of their immortality left their bodies and became free-flowing magic to be tapped into by anyone with a clue. They found human mates, and began new races (each race’s difference was determined by the god and the human it mated with).
Then there were only two gods left. Each detested and loved the other, and they were called the Lord and Lady. The Lady watched over the garden in the light of the world, and the Lord watched over garden in the darkness of the world. Soon, the new races of the garden began to pick side of the higher squabble. Some races, like that of the Veela, were divided.
Those Veelas that followed the Lady were blessed with more earthly tones-with hair of fiery red of midnight black, various shades of tan skin-like the shades of the earth, and a variation of eye colors. They were given more power of the animals and plants of the garden, and had the voice to lure unsuspecting humans to them. The Veelas that followed the Lord, were blessed with ethereal looks- silver to golden hair, blue to silver eyes, and skin so pale it looked like ivory of the moon. They were taught the art of spells, potions, and the benefits of the night’s sky. They also gained the power of pheromones, which gave them the skill of manipulation in the hearts of humans. Both sides of the Veela fought each other with a fierceness not seen in any of the other races.
Eventually, the war of the gods died down, and there was silence in Utopia, and in the skies that protected the garden. All the races quieted down, and order resume in the garden. Well, all the races except one. The Veelas kept their rivalry.
Kingdoms came and went, but the races kept to themselves and just about ignored the humans, and the slow rise of the wizards that seemed to be springing up everywhere. The Veelas were a different story. To insure the survival of his line, he had to take a human mate. Seeing a flaw in the inbreeding the other races began to practice, he cursed his line to forever fall in love with a human. Their destined one. Unnamed pains would also, upon coming of age, continuously damn his line until the mate was found, or they died. The blood of their mate would become Veelan upon the bonding ritual’s completion. This insured the line’s blood to remain pure, and powerful.
The Veelas integrated themselves with the humans, and many had long standing relationships with the villages around them. Many would promise the villages, that should their mate be found there, and willingly given to them, that they would insure good fortune. There were rivalries amongst the villages that accepted the Lords Veelas as opposed to those who accepted the Lady’s Veelas. With the spread of dominion and religion, the Veelas were condemned and driven from all villages. They began to live in seclusion, and the population decreased by persecution.
This brings us to today’s era-when the Ministry has officially damned the persecution of all Veelas and their mates. They also passed many laws, that gives the Veela rights to his destined mate despite the circumstance. This was under the ‘Mate-protection Act’, where Veelas were given top priority over the other groups of races. Vampires followed soon after, followed by Nymphs and Sirens-and so on.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is where our story begins.

A/N: So…what’d ya think? Any suggestions? And if you do decide to flame me, at least make it constructive. I am still open to plot bunnies; Ron, Luna, Ginny, and other Random characters still need to be paired up with someone, and there can be many variables to this story.
