The Snake And The Lioness
Chapter

The Assignment
Adrienne Fleur had been called in for another assignment. She had just come back from holiday. She had gone to visit her twin brother, Christian Fleur, who was on tour with his quidditch team. She had just come back from wild parties and flirtatious wizards and witches. Now, she had to be surrounded by flirty old wizards and pushy reporters.
The Golden Trio, as they were affectionally called, had defeated and killed Voldemort after their seventh year. Yes, it had been tough. A rigorous battle were a lot innocents were killed. Families had been, and some still were, torn apart. The perfect example, the Malfoy family.
The Malfoy's only son, Draco had gone to the light side. This, of course, had upset Lucius, Draco's father. Lucius had told Draco that he would meet a horrible end. It had been true. In the last ambush of Voldemort's secret hiding place, Draco had been brought down by Voldemort himself. His lost was mourned by the suicide of Narcissa Malfoy.
The last Malfoy had, of course, talked and bought himself out of his troubles again. He was a normal wizard, just with the addition of the Dark Mark. He was sitting comfortably in his mansion and, as Adrienne had heard, looking for a bride to mother him a respectable heir.
Adrienne had thought Draco Malfoy was a very respectable heir. Also, a very faithful boyfriend. They had started going out in their seventh year. It was secret at first, but Draco decided he wanted it to be public.
Most people agreed that they made a great couple, but some didn't. Some thought that Draco only wanted her for her....you know. Draco's last dying words had been, 'Tell Adrienne that I love her." And that was all she needed to believe that he had really loved her.
Anyway, Adrienne was balancing a hot cup of tea in one hand and a doughnut in the other. She had just woken up and been told to come to her boss' office a.s.a.p. She took a very quick shower, got dressed, and grabbed breakfast at the small bakery on the corner.
She came up to her boss' office door just as she finished her doughnut. She checked herself in the mirror outside his office, turned the handle, and went inside.
"Hello, Adrienne. Please take a seat." Her boss said, pointing to the seat in front of his desk.
"Good morning! Thank you, Percy." Adrienne sat down and took of her tea.
"I am sure you know why I called you in." Percy asked.
"Is it another assignment?" Adrienne asked, almost hoping that it was just some case of loss-of-control magic.
"Yes. This is an interesting one. I thought it would be perfect for you." Percy said with a slight grin on his face. It almost scared Adrienne when he did this. But this usually meant a very exciting and revenge-getting assignment.
"Why did you think that?"
"You have the chance to embarrass Lucius 'ex'-Death Eater' Malfoy. You are being placed in his home to monitor his Manor." Percy answered. The grin getting bigger.
"Why am I monitoring his Manor?" Adrienne asked outloud. 'Hadn't they gotten all the dark things out?' She asked herself.
"Well, it was reported that some dark spells had been used there, but when the M.O.M sent people out, they found nothing. Dad thinks we need someone there, almost as an undercover Auror, to watch him for a while."
"How long of a while? What would I be going undercover as?" Adrienne asked. She was getting into her 'seek and destroy' mode.
"Maybe a few months?" Percy said as a question. He had been sure Adrienne would blow up when she heard it.
"Okay. And what as?"
"A bride-to-be hopeful."
"Bloody hell! No!" Adrienne jumped out of her chair and screamed.
"Adrienne, please. Calm down." Percy said, raising his voice slightly as each word left his mouth.
"Percy, I'm sorry to lose my temper, but a bride-to-be hopeful. I might have to kiss him, or even worst, sleep with him. I can't do that!"
"Why not? You always said you would do whatever to ensure justice and I thought you said you were over Draco." Percy said, his voice sounding irritated.
"I am over Draco, but I just don't like Lucius. And how would he actually believe that I might want to marry him? How will you make him believe that, Adrienne Fleur, wants to date him or be his wife?"
"Well, I was hoping that you could figure that out." Percy said nervously.
"Okay. When do I have to be there?" She asked, knowing that coming up with a good idea and reason would take time.
"Tomorrow evening. You have a date with him at 'Max's'. That new wizarding restaurant."
"Great. Guess I'll go home and find something to wear." Adrienne said, lifting herself out of the chair and leaving the office. Tomorrow's events were going to be very different from the bubble bath and wine she had planned.
