I have one question - how could you possibly make Hermione into such a pathetic, insipid, weak, whining girl?? Yes, she would fight Draco and yes, she would hate to leave the wizarding world if she refused the contract but there is NO WAY she would just yell and lash out all the time. I ended up reading about half your fic becasue I figured you might have simply made her 2-dimensional at the beginning because of her shock but she remained that way till Chapter 12 (and possibly further but I refuse to read more). The only time she was remotely similar to her original character traits was when she was negotiating 'favours' with Lucius. Oh - actually I do have one other question...when, in all of this, does Hermione get her period so she realises she's not pregnant?? Or IS she pregnant - if this is the case then Draco is doing more lying which should cause her to come to her senses.

Please don't feel as though I am attacking you here - I just became more and more angry as I kept reading. It is important to develop a character a you write - and to remember that a strong-willed woman does not simply shout and hit people. I don't know how this story finishes (and I won't since I'm not reading anymore) but I truely hope that Hermione comes to her senses, realises she doesn't need any of them, researches the crap out of the marriage contract and gets her way out of it...or disappears.

I do like Lucius as a character in your story, however. Not as evil as he is in other fics, but there's no problem there as you state plainly that he sees Hermione as a boost for the family. His scheming and anger are justified and mostly well-written.

This story was written a while ago so I'm not expecting a reply. I simply had to get all this off my chest - developing character from the very first chapter is the most important part of a narrative text. If the characters don't develop it doesn't matter how great the rest is.

Yup...must love naughty draco's, braided Lucius, love sick evil doer Jr.. Too precious...just what I needed during a bad day.
