The problem with this story is that it is written in first person. For some reason, these always seem awkward to me. Take this line for instance
"'I want one!' I cried" If someone was telling a story in first person, I hardly think they would say "and I cried!" It is just wierd to me.
However, I will continue reading but I highly encourage you to rewrite this from another view point.
