Prologue
"Ooh, look, babies! I want one!" I cried watching a young mother pushing the stroller carrying her identical newborn twins down the long street of Diagon Alley, while I stand with my parents for a moment outside Magical Menagerie.
"I never want to hear you say those words again!" my dad Severus Snape replied quickly.
"Severus!" my mother Hermione Granger-Snape scolded.
"Oh okay. Well at least not for another 50 years."
Those were the last words exchanged between my parents and I, and I will never forget them. I will also never forget the look of terror on my parents faces as they were hit by the killing curse. They had both turned from the curse to shield me from being hit as well.
My best friend Jamie Draconis Malfoy (I call him JD for short) was standing just a few feet away with his parents, Draco and Ginny Malfoy, and quickly he ran to me and apparated us both away.
We stood just outside the wards of what I knew to be the safest place... Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and my home for the last 16 years.
I had grabbed hold of JD and was crying on his shoulder when I felt him stiffen against me, pulling me tighter to him. Slowly I looked up to see what was wrong only to find the impossible had happened.
Where Hogwarts had stood proudly just hours before there now was a giant smoldering pile of rock, the dark mark fiercly birning in the sky above.
All I can remember thinking was that Voldemort had finally won. He had killed my Uncle Harry Potter years before, but had never truly won. Diagon Alley, the Ministry, Hogwarts and a few other places were still well protected from him. Now Hogwarts had fallen to him, he had finally broken it's wards and killed the main resistance against him. It would make sense that he would attack when some of the most powerful wizards and witches of the time were away, and to have them attacked separately.
My parents, and I along with JD and his parents would once a year go on a trip to Diagon Alley for school supplies and anything our parents needed for their classes or the hospital wing, Voldemort must have found out when we had planned our trip this year, and chosen then to attack.
I stood there staring at where the castle had stood crying in JD's arms, he was crying with me. We were crying for our friends, our teachers and mostly for our parents.
We knew we had to leave. If it makes sense when Voldemort chose to attack it also makes sense that when the two children, who have been raised to fight against you and who are growing to be stronger than both their parents escape your attack, that you have them hunted down.
It was almost four months ago that my parents were killed. Four long months of running from Voldemort and his Deatheaters. We've since confirmed that JD's parents were also killed in the attack at Diagon Alley.
I'm not the daughter of two of the most brilliant minds without it having rubbed off on me however. I know what has to be done...
JD and I are going back in time.
To be continued...

Authors Notes: I hope you like this story so far. Rather short I know, but as I go on the chapters will be longer. I hope to have the first chapter up real soon.
This story was inspired by a challenge I found at WIKTT. I unfortunately lost the name of the person who set the challenge (if anyone can let me know after reading this please let me know) Here are the rules (slightly condensed I also lost the full copy):
Years in the future Voldemort has won. In the meantime Severus and Hermione have fallen in love, had a (very powerful) daughter and died.
Voldemort having killed the parents is after all the children as they have been raised to fight against him. After many die their daughter decides to go back.
Rules:
1)daughter 15/16 years old
2)takes place in Harry's sixth year
3)she must feel guild about having survived when most of her friends and family have died
4)she can go back in time with one friend from a surprising couple (ie Draco/Ginny or Neville/Luna)
5)can only reveal herself to one parent
6)must focus on the couple as they fall in love keeping them in character (daughter as a matchmaker maybe?)
7) the daughter may have any combination of the following powers:
a: can bring anyone back to life (if chosen she must bring back any or all of Sirius, Lily or James)
b: she can speak to anything animate (ie plants/animals)
c: a resistance to spells and potions (resistance so they can still affect her so the killing curse would still kill her)
8)Snape must feel some sort of paternal instinct towards her
9)can be from any point of view
Quotes:
-Ooh, look babies! I want one! - I never want to hear you say those words again!
-I'll tell all the ladies what a stud you are. -I believe that memo was already sent.
-I swear to drunk I'm not God!
Bonuses:
-a scene where the daughter sneaks out clubbing and comes back drunk and with a tattoo in an almost inappropriate spot
-a scene where the daughter has a nightmare and only Snape can help her
Sorry there were more quotes and bonuses but those were all I wrote down (I lost a bunch of paperwork while writting all this)
Well please read and review. Your reviews will keep me alive and writting.
