*sighs and bangs my head against the wall* Why don\'t most of these people get it?

Life isn\'t black and white. Even the best of people can have something wrong with them. In this case, it\'s an intriguing blend of mental illnesses. Every character in the book has issues. And, the books never really give us much about the characters and their lives, do they? [Well, except Harry. I know more about him than I need to. :p] No one knows what happens in their lives outside of school. In Canon, it\'s obvious that Hermione overcompensates.

Can I just ask a favor from anyone that reads reviews before a fic? Please, please, please take the warnings into consideration. Also, OOCness has been talked about to death. Heh, I\'m overprotective and it\'s not even my fic. :p

And can I just ask (even though I don\'t expect an answer) how some of the reviewers got the vibe that HG/DM or HG/RW or whatever would just love the basis for this fic? Because, I know that I just *love* abuse. Love it, love it, love it. In fact, when I get married, I hope that I find someone that\'s ill too so we can bask in our destructive behavior together. Woo! [Sarcasm.]

*sighs* And now I feel better. Ooh, and I have seen those fics Tyger was ranting about - the ones that are blatant ripoffs of Romeo and Juliet.

Ooh, I get it now! Why so many people are angry with this fic not only for the problems but also because she\'s 16/17. They\'re ignoring the \"happy\" fics that other writers have out where the characters are in that age bracket. Honestly, would it be better if she was 40 and he was, what, 80? Or 20-60? Just curious.

Well it\'s nice to have friends that come to your defense I guess. Why is it that the author and her friends can\'t understand that yes-we do get the story. And just think it\'s a crappy one. You want reasons-here they go:

This fic appears to be going for a \"realistic\" view of a co-dependent realtionship. All well and good but if we\'re going for realism let\'s go:

1) Hermione is 16 or 17 and hell yeah it makes a difference. Hello, she\'s a student and he\'s a Professor-yet Hogwarts gives HG a room so she can be near Severus. Oh yeah real realistic.

2) Albus is a total jackass. One of his lead people is bringing whores right into tthe school. Can anyone say \"You\'d be Fired\" A personal life is one thing-but I would hope that as in the real world, this would be serious charges.

3) Hermione stands there and watches Severus blow his load with another woman. And in HG\'s own bed. Realism-real life-I would imagine that unless you\'re totally catonic, you\'d do something whether a human or Witch. Standing there and letting him finish?? Yeah OK

4) Severus is not only a bastard but he\'s lost all of his marbles. Yeah he wants to hurt her -we get it. But to bring the women to his home knowing she\'ll catch him. Why doesn\'t he just ask HGr to join in and they can all have a nice little party.

In addition, this fic has made Hermione go insane from the fith year books to what is apparently the sixth year. Sure HG likes to do things right, and appears to have a soft heart. I got no indication that she\'s mentally ill and yup she damned sure is in this story. And she has no way out-if she leaves SS tries to commit suicide (oh he\'s some Professor), and if she tries to date another Severus will kill them. If this Severus behaves like this if you want to be realistic, you can be damned sure he\'s also beating the shit out of her. Oh right I forgot in this story abuse seems to mean he loves her. Hey he gives her roses.

And as for people not getting it, your last reviewer defending you doesn\'t get it. Would it make a difference if she was 40 and he was 60 or so. Repeat after me-Yes it would. A 40 year old is an adult. A 16 year old student is a child. Last time I looked that would make one hell of a difference. Unless and probably the case, the reviewer that made that inane comment is a teenager. Teenagers always believe that they are the same as grown women.

And the reviwer doesn\'t seem to get why HG/RW lovers or HG/SS lovers would like this fic. Well it\'s because Severus is made out to be the biggest jerkoff and shit around, and Hermione is acting like a used condom for Severus (doormat if you can\'t understand). If you don\'t like a ship and you have lots of HG/SS haters around, seeing the characters portrayed like this is a thrill Duh!

And as for the \"I love Abuse Comment\" (were you tring to be witty)? Well duh, anyone that likes this story apparently likes abuse of the worst type-rape of the soul.

So do you get why the story is not liked by the vast majority of the reviewers? If not I suggest that the last supporter/friend and the author actually look at the reviews. Maybe you\'ll get a clue as to why the story\'s not liked.

personally thought the story was very well done. Now, before all of you other reviewers go off and say, \"her opinion doesn\'t matter, she\'s probably just a high school girl,\" I\'ll more than confirm that you are very wrong. I assume that you all are high school age for assuming that everything in this world is happy go lucky and that lovers do not cheat on each other ever, especially without a reason. Well, guess what? They do. And a lot of the time? There\'s no explanation. And love? Sometimes it\'ll make someone stay with their significant other no matter what they do. \'Turning the blind eye\' as they say. I think it\'s also wrong to call this story OOC because you do not know *everything* about the characters and you do not know *all* of what has happened to them and it is arrogant for you to make such proclamations.

Now, onto the story:

It tells of a woman of struggle. She\'s so heartbroken and yet she stays with him anyway. A story that happens all too often in this society. Severus is a man that, when hurt, will strike out at his love in the worst way possible: with another woman. I say that this story is very plausible in this world, very well-written. And darling, don\'t let these ill-experienced innocents drag down your confidence, they just weren\'t ready for the real life pain you were about to ditch out for them.

As many of you can come on here and review this story and say that the characters are OOC and that a group of 200 some odd HG/SS supporters don\'t like this story. [And I know this wasn\'t directly asked [by most] but its what\'s implied with all the negative reviews]. I won\'t be taking this story down. I won\'t be changing it. It\'ll stay as is.

I will say that I had originally planned a companion piece/sequel [It said it in the first version of the author notes and those notes still exsist at Fanfiction.net] But everyone was so quick to jump down my throat about this fiction and not acknowledge that lil bit of information. All I got was variations of \"This is terrible\", \"They\'re beyond out of character\" and people begging me to change it or write a companion piece/sequel where she turns it around on Severus.

Of course now in all honesty I\'m tempted to leave the half finished fiction [the companion piece] just that... unfinished. I honestly haven\'t decided yet and if I do finish it, its doubtful I share it. Also blaming me for the possiblity of having to deal with more HG/SS haters, thats ridiculous. This story wasn\'t meant to encourage that and I\'m sorry if it does. But that hate is always going to be there... don\'t try to lay the blame on me, even if it is in some sideways way.

A few of you asked how I can write such great BtVS/Ats fictions and yet you still ripped me up here, didn\'t give me the benefit of the doubt, didn\'t email me and ask me. You just felt becuase YOU disagreed so much with this particular piece that you had to come on here and rip me up and then act as if you were shocked at how I could do this since my other works are so different....

I make no apologies for this fiction, because \"White Roses\" wasn\'t suppose to be the end...

I\'m writing representing a HG/SS group with over 200 members. I can\'t speak for all of us, but everyone that\'s weighed in hates this story. Why the hell did you have to do this to us? We get enough teasing and flack on the internet for liking the HG/SS realtionship. Now this?

Severus is beyond being a bastard, and Hermione is like what one reviewer say- a piece of used toilet paper. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, I can\'t believe that anyone that \"claims\" to like the SS/HG relationship would write such a horrible piece.

This is so unfair. You seem to have a flair for writing and yet you go do this. That is so un-cool. What would make you even think that a fan that likes SS/HG, would enjoy a story like this. And if you feel this is realistic, well despite my anger and sadness at this piece-I feel sorry for you.

I can tell you that this story was voted hands doen the most hated SS/HG ever. And that\'s saying something.

Do real HG/SS fans a favor, and next time go write a realistic HG/RW fic.

This story is OCC, and well never mind. It\'s too much wrong to go into it. Other reviewers have said it all (I hate the story in case you misunderstand).

How does this story have a four star rating and a majority of negative reviews. Must be the anti-SS/HG\'s I guess. Unless author and supporters are hitting the five star button repeatedly. It will probably be up to five stars by unfair means. Oh well.

How do you have such great Buffy stories and than write this umm story. That\'s so mean.

Constructive Criticism-Hermione and Severus are completely OCC based on everything that\'s canon so far. The books are right now in HG\'s fifth year, you\'re setting this story in her sixth year at least at the beginning. I can\'t see the Hermione of \"now\" that\'s brave and self-relient becoming the poor, sick, abused woman you have written her here. We\'re talking about just one more year.

Severus is OCC as much as HG. There\'s nothing in canon that portrays him as being stupid or for that matter the type of man that easily gets women to come to Hogwarts to screw him. Although we don\'t know much about him, we know that it appears Albus trusts him. Albus also appears to know what\'s going on around his school. In this story you apparently have an Albus that overlooks the fact that one of his Head of Houses is bringing in a fair amount of whores. We also have an Albus that is apparently condoing a relationship between a very young HG, and a Head of House. Unrealistic as well as immoral.

You\'re also skirting with age. If this started in HG\'s sixth year, we have Severus sleeping with a 16 or 17 year old. And again-he\'s a Head of House and a Professor.

In addition to all of that, you have what appears to be two mentally ill people-again the books certainly never implied that HG or SS were mentally ill. And to behave the way they do in this story both would almost have to be. And it\'s not set far enough in the future that something as drastic as two intelligent people becoming pretty unbalanced would be at all feasable or realistic.

The roses were meant to signify how HG felt special but it just makes her look more pathetic than ever. If your lover is having sex in your bed with other women, the fact that he brings you roses and not the other women is certainly not a sign that he loves you.

All in all, this story has pretty OK spelling and grammer, but there\'s not even a toehold of realism (and yes, even stories set in the HP world usually have some degree of realism), not to mention a total rewrite of the two main characters in this story.

I do wonder what could possibly have made you write something like this. Based on what I have read in your other stories, this story doesn\'t even seem like something you\'d have written. And note-I have enjoyed other stories you\'ve written. This story is just not good for reasons I\'ve listed above.

Also note if 1 or 2 people flame, well you can\'t please everyone. If the bulk of reviews are negative, something is off-key with the story even if it\'s just the author sees things in a different way.

If almost every review is a flame or negative, you can bet that you\'re completely missing the beat with a story. Almost your entire review board is negative (even when a review first appears positive I\'ve noticed comments are added that either berate or insult the story). Your other stories have pretty much positive reviews so it\'s not your writing, it\'s this story. It just completely misses the boat.

And I\'d never insult you as a person. I\'m talking completely about your story here.

Response to latests reviews...

The running theme I\'ve noticed is that everyone is so upset that Severus is a bastard and Hermione is weak. I\'ve read stories [that have recieved GREAT reviews] where Severus is still a cheating bastard and Hermione STILL finds out. All that happens differently is that he goes and kills himself when she leaves him. In others once she finds out that he kills himself she realizes what a mistake leaving was, she then goes and kills herself. And yet those people were applauded for their beatifully written angsty filled almost Romeo and Juliet like quality fictions.

However here because I kept these two in an abusive relationship. And brought the usually strong Hermione down to being a weak woman who has developed a co-dependancy on another person, and having Severus not always be the dashing hero I am being flamed beyond compare. There was also a comment about how there was no magick mentioned... take a step back and think about how many one shots involving these two characters are ALWAYS heavily laid in magick... its not always so.

This story was just meant to be about two characters that I [YES] do like and enjoy very much. You are reading only ONE fiction I\'ve written about them. I\'ve only posted one other and it is nothing like this... have you read that one? I\'m guessing probably not. Also PLEASE STOP attacking my character. You do not know who I am, what I like, how old I am... etc.

Dont\' ASSume that I\'m a very young girl, Don\'t ASSume that I\'m in High School, and again Don\'t ASSume that I prefer Hermione with Ron or Harry or even Draco. You don\'t know if any of that is true about me and its not really any of your business anyway what pairings I like and don\'t like, how old I am or not... I wrote a story that delt with VERY sensitive issues.

And YES people this DOES happen. Women stay in relationships like this ALL the time. Most/All of you are outraged... GREAT! then you won\'t let yourself be used and abused by a man if he ever did this to you [if won\'t hasn\'t already] In my story I\'m having it happen to Hermione, I\'m having Snape be the possessive bastard he has the potential to be.

So again if you don\'t like the STORY fine! But don\'t assume to know me...

I love the story!! This story is probably the true Severus and Hermione. A abusive drunken bastard, and a pathetic insecure stupid woman. Love it!!! I have to say that this is my fav Hermione and Severus story ever (I usually read the ones that have bad reviews). You should be proud because I know you\'re one of us. If you\'re not please join. P.S.-Would love to read more about this and have a few ideas. Maybe HG could catch him in bed with Ginny or one of the other students or teachers, and than beg his forgiveness for interupting him. LOL LOL You have made my day. And I\'m so glad you were able to put this one over on those SS/HG fans. You have hopefully opened their eyes.
