You know I agree with the previous reviewer on all aspects. I also loved the first part that was romance. It was great. The rest, I didn\'t really like (but agree it\'s your option to write the way you see fit).

Maybe in a way I felt a bit cheated because the first part was so lovely and romantic, that I didn\'t see the rest coming.

Oops I meant the reviewer Sharon-more reviews came in, so it\'s not the previous review.

And Harriet-Pet Chicken and anthopology? LOL Cool.

Damn, I\'m at work and not concentrating. I meant I agreed with the reviewer Susan not Sharon.

Hmm back to work for me now. I guess I can\'t do two things at once.

I will say that I hope there\'s a sequel that lightens or somehow \"betters\" things up. That\'s just me though. I read SS/HG for relaxation and don\'t like too much stress. I have lived enough bad things to want to read fiction where true love abounds, men don\'t cheat and there is a happy-ever after. Maybe it\'s not true to life, but I think we\'re all drawn to Harry Potter books because it\'s a fantasy. So many lousy things happen in real life that somethings it is nice to take a break with fantasy and fiction realistic or not. Personally, as I stated I kind of prefer fantasy over realism in fanfic but, my life hasn\'t been all sunshine so I\'ll take sunshine where I can get it. LOL (And I\'m certainly not telling TigerLily or anyone what to write, to each her own, this is just my opinion).

What worries me as a woman, is that whenever a internet group is mostly female, \"fights\" break out. There\'s nasty comments, catty comments, one person responds in a nasty matter, another one rebutts in a nasty matter. It never fails.

My personal feeling is that women are usually under more stress than men (working at jobs, kids, working at home etc.) and are also much more subject to hormonal changes. For instance on this review board, at any given time a lot of us have PMS, or are pregnant, or menopause etc. As a result of all these things-women do appear to be more \"nickpicky\" than men. Agin, just my opinion.

On the other hand, I also believe that whatever a woman\'s viewpoint is for this story, and no matter how many nasty remarks are traded back and forth, I do like to think that if one of us needed help, or sympathy, or just e-mail contact to feel better, we would all rush to that woman\'s side. I really do believe that.

I guess in a way, it\'s good everyone can express their feelings positive, or negative, nice or nasty, over something that we all know really doesn\'t \"hurt\" anyone (I hope you weren\'t hurt in this TigerLily). If people are taking the time to write anything good or bad, it means your story was noticed. And any celebrity will tell you, no matter what type publicity, it\'s the being noticed that counts.

So ladies all that being said-I hope that everyone eats well, sleeps great, and has the man (or woman) of her dreams at her side for all eternity.

I just want to say, Penny, rock on sister!!! And keep writing Tigerlily, you are drawing out emotions in many of your readers. Isn\'t that what it\'s all about?

Irene: yes, while people usually interact with chickens only with a fork, they make excellent pets! As for my majoring in anthropology... yeah that was when I was 18 - as time went by I realized living in some foreign locale for months at a time getting shot at and dusting off quarter inch fragments of ancient trash heaps was just not for me. Give me my farm in Georgia, I\'ll take it every time.

Oh wow. Penny that was beautiful and I for one am ashamed.

TigerLily-I\'d love to see more of this story and will keep my fingers crossed that SS/HG come out OK.

SpoiledSquish-I apoligize, I read your comments and was a bit offended because being a person of color, I guess the \"white ass\" part irked me a bit, but upon thinking about it, I\'m sure you meant nothing racist. I jumped too fast without thinking and I\'m sorry.

I suppose we all need to chill a bit. Penny, thanks for reminding me that it\'s better to be nice that nasty. A good lesson for us all.

And TigerLily, wishing you all the luck in the world.

While your writing and style are good, the actual reality of the story is not sound. You claim this is \"just too much reality for in a fantasy world...Its good and its truthful...\" Actually, it\'s not. Severus is not constant. His internal dialogue is not constant. He actually comes across as a paranoid, manic depressive.

Abuse occurs. It\'s very real. But the flow of action here is not logical. It does not follow the typical actions of abusive relationships (yes, they have common patterns and reactions). As do co-dependent relationships.

As a side note, if you don\'t want anyone to comment on your age, don\'t list your live journal, or remove the posting mentioning you graduated from high school last year.

Actually, I can understand how you feel about your story (wanting to defend), but I\'ll tell you right out I don\'t like the story and it has nothing to do with you or your writing.

The problem is that I imagine almost all reader of SS/HG fanfic are women. And deep down most of us identify with HG in some way. Which in a strange sort of way, when SS cheats on HG, it\'s almost like he\'s cheating on us.

Of course the way you wrote this story happens in real life. I know people who have been in situations like this and have stayed (not a good idea). Real life people cheat, real life people don\'t die of broken hearts and I\'m sure while it happens in real life, real people don\'t usually kill themselves for love the way it happens in fanfic.

Fanfic is an escape where yeah we want dashing heroes and romantic love. Where the hero is true and remains true to the leading lady in this case, Hermione.

In this story you had Severus be the ultimate cheat. He brought his women back to the abode he shares with HG. He knows that she has and will catch him having sex with another. And from your fic it appears he\'s enjoying the sex immensely (he fell on her like a starving man). In most fics if you notice, if SS does cheat, he never enjoys it that much. At least not as much as when he\'s with HG.

In this story I got the feeling that the sex was just as good with the whores as with HG. It was just too much. Does it happen in real life like this-of cousre. But I like some sort of escape in the fanfic world. And this story just made me feel crappy. And my feeling is that\'s what a lot of reviwers and readers are feeling.

I suppose I would be hurt and offended just like you (probably)are but, if you\'ve read widely in the SS/HG world you would see that this type of story just makes people feel bad. And this story is far more extreme in the cheating arena than any I have read in the HG/SS kingdom. It really made me feel bad. And I suspect lots of other people too. Sometimes too much of a dip in real world issues are just a little to much in fanfic.

Terrible story line, characters completely OCC. Not worth more words from me.
