I\'m hoping this is not the end, because I hate to see Hermione and Severus like this. Real life issues can be crappy, but I just don\'t seem them behaving like this. And funny enough it\'s not the total lack of respect SS has for HG, and HG apparently has for herself-it\'s the intelligence/respect factor as others see them.
What I mean is that Severus did join the DE, however as far as we know he\'s redeemed himself. I would like to think, that even for his own self interest, he would not want AD and the other staff thinking of him as a disgusting sex maniac. It\'s far too personal. That\'s why I can\'t see him bringing women into \"his space\". He seems to private.
As for HG, she has her rep in school to maintain and later her rep for a career. I\'m not to sure I\'d hire someone with such little self-esteem. And since SS is screwing women all over and right at Hogwart\'s-people would know. And I can only inagine HG facing Harry and Ron with this going on.
My hope is that you have a nice plot twist or something else planned. And please note I\'m not criticizing your writing, or even the story (I understand a pic in time), I just had the feeling that there\'s more than meets the eye hear. LOL Especially when you do mention a sequel, and did from the beginning. Hope you write it. I first read this story a few days ago, and I saw sequel so I was holding onto that thought (hoping things would change). Please write it soon? LOL

This is a tough one. I do think the story is well-written however, I still just can\'t see Hermione watching Severus have sex without doing anything. I\'m not saying the relationship between them wouldn\'t have problems, I just don\'t think Hermione would put up with \"that\" much love or not. Most of the women that stay in these type relationships have other problems before that relationship (abusive homes, etc.). HG at least as far as we know doesn\'t. I just can\'t see any reason she\'d stay with a older, abusive and if we\'re canon-ugly man. She doesn\'t need his money, she\'s not trapped with anywhere to go. I guess there\'s complete idealized but on the other end of the spectrum-it\'s extremely \"extreme\' and the angst HG goes through here is so much. I also think that HG, would also be worried about the humiliation of everyone in the wizarding world knowing how SS behaves (he doesn\'t hide it and brings it home). I think that may bother her even more.
That being said you mentioned a sequel and I for one have faith that you have something up your sleeve regarding this story. You\'re too good of a writer not to. LOL
Looking to see more.

I noticed a lot about the age of women here and after checking myself (through YaHoo mambers, webpages etc.), it really is true that very young women like the story and older ladies don\'t. Maybe because older women have \"been there\" and feel uncomfortable and sad seeing a young women in a situation like HG, and young woman maybe see \"an out\" with the sequel? Who knows?
In any case, I am hoping for a sequel and being an old biddy, hope there\'s light at the end of the tunnel or some type explanation.
Have a great day all!

Well I don\'t care about what everyone else says... but I like your story... I think it keeps the characters in character... Severus being unable to express feeling... and Hermione though brave on the outside, weak and dependent on the inside... I loved it.... and even though you said that you may leave the sequal unfinished, I hope that you at least post it unfinished or not :D... Relationships are not always wonderful... and you portrayed this perfectly... Keep it up... and ignore people that want to crush your creative, independent spirit... :D

While I can honestly say this isn\'t the worst fanfic I have ever written. It is probably the most well-written story I have ever read and still do not like. The grammer, spelling and tenses are just about perfect. However, I have to agree, that everyone is OOC. I am not even talking about Canon, cause I sure don\'t stick to Canon. And while the issues you brought up do in fact exhist in this world (sadly). I do not see Hermione or Severus ever being like this. It is just alittle too extream OOC for my tastes.
As for your frequent angry responses, you have put up a very contraversial(sp?) story, full of real issues, and expect everyone to be all happy about it. Your reaction to this comes across as a extreamly childish and are making people loose respect for your otherwise decent work. So do us all a favor and grow up. If you can\'t deal with other peoples opinions, then don\'t post such contiversial stories on this site!
Delete this if you want, it will only go to show that you cannot deal with critisism like an adult.

Harriet, I have to say I do find the whole farm idea and pet chickens really amazing. It\'s so different from what I do. I work as an accountant in NYC-Wall Street area.
My husband grew up in the south on a farm, so I really do enjoy when people have different experiences than me.
Being an anthopologist really sounds unique as well.
Well please take care, I\'m off to one last meeting and than home for more work! LOL

I have no idea how people can just sit there and openly bash both you and this godsend of a fic, Tyger. Why is it that you are getting flamed for writing such a beautiful tale?
I love this fic because you actually show the everyday madness of the real world. You don\'t sugarcoat things just for other\'s benefit. This story is pure proof of what an abusive relationship is like and I applaud you for writing it so true to form.
All these HG/SS fans can just kiss my natural white ass because they obviously don\'t know true talent when they see it. I\'ll be the first in line when you write your book, while these loser assholes will just be at home, getting wasted.
I think you should write more fics like this, because a true artist can take a purely unlovable subject and turn it into something magnificent, which is just what you\'ve done!

Tygerlily,
I really enjoyed this story - it was nice seeing an emotional, yet not-so-reformed Snape with Hermione and I\'m always glad to hear a new spin on the SS/HG pairing. I enjoy idealized stories just as much as the next person, but if Hermione and Snape were to have a relationship, my money would be on it being much more unhealthy than the one you painted so well. Thanks!

What I don\'t get is all the reviewers who are saying that \"ooooh now we shall be lambasted once again for loving HG/SS.\" Aren\'t you people being just a tad melodramatic? In your world, do you actually get a backlash from this, and you care? I mean people come on, you aren\'t hiding Jews in an attic or working on a cure for cancer. It\'s fan fiction, and supposed to be up to the author\'s whim. So whatever she writes is just as valid as anything else on here. And the Group of 200 Who Hands Down Hates This Story With Apparently All Their Heart and Soul... ladies go out and do some volunteer work, join Big Brother/Big Sister, get outside and into the sunshine, all this time in front of the monitor has fried your forebrain and left you with a pasty complexion.
If she wants Severus to have a dramatic love affair with Buckbeak... guess what- it\'s FAN FICTION. She is perfectly within her rights to do so. And while of course it\'s perfectly within your rights to review... do the right thing people. Don\'t jump on the hater bandwagon because you think it\'s cool. It\'s not.
And last, to the author: The masses are asses. They prove it every time.
