Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.

There is no Place like home
Disclaimer: Well if this HP would be mine I would definitely be a very happy little camper, but it\'s not mine (expect a few characters of my own) so I just have to stick with messing with it. ;)
Summary: It\'s a AU. And more is not to be revealed. Since my stories tend to get a life of their own I can\'t tell you all pairings for sure but the characters that will for sure get action are Snape, Draco and maybe Harry and Lucius.
Rating: NC-17, for extreme violence and sex (but that\'s gonna take a while, cause I like to take it slow... *g*)
Note: My first HP fiction so be merciful and a great thanks to the beta Corgi, \'cause without her this would be a real disaster to read.
Prologue
Ministry of Magic
Cornelius Fudge was fuming. He was angry and terrified. Why was it, that everything slowly fell apart? The world so perfect and full of peace was being ripped apart by Voldemort and even the smaller blessings seemed to be fading. He drowned in self pity and in pity for Harry Potter. Him would the news probably shock the most. Poor boy, he had such rotten luck with his nearest and dearest. His godfather a traitor and his... He couldn\'t even think it. Normally he respected Dumbledore a great deal, but this one decision never understood nor agreed with. He would have disposed of that thing as soon as Lily and James had been cold. And now this spawn of evil was going to Hogwarts with Harry.
He had tried everything he could think of, short of asking Lucius Malfoy for help, but there was nothing he could have done to prevent the coming events. There just was no ground for refusing it entrance to Hogwarts. Fudge laughed bitterly. As Albus told him so accurately it was still a child of the wizarding world as well no matter what else was in the bloodstream.
So instead of fighting, telling Malfoy and doing something, he had done what he always did. He gave in. He would close his eyes and pretend that nothing happened. Like he did with Voldemort\'s return. Just pretend it wasn\'t real. Finally coming to rest he sat behind his desk. Yes, nothing bad would happen and even if, Dumbledore would manage. Or Potter. They were good with these crises. He would just continue to look the other way and care for matters, which he understood and could handle.
Hogwarts
Inside the walls of his tower the greatest wizard known to the side of the light watched the evening sky. Albus Dumbledore was in deep thought. He knew he made the right decision, but would it not endanger everyone? Yes it would, yet he could not have done anything different. He believed in that spark that made the child seek him out. He smiled. And what a confrontation that had been. Certainly fiery that one. Quite clever and cunning too... And a lot of courage. Not many would stand before him and demand the things this one had. It was a rare and special event. But most of all it told him that there was still something left of the time with Lily and James. A memory only perhaps, but strong enough for the time being. It was a start and with time the child could learn to feel like a human being again. It would take time, it would not be pretty and it would probably take sacrifices and some pain. But if anyone could bring humanity back into someone it was this school with all its mysteries and the people inside it, and for this one especially Harry.
Dumbledore trusted Harry with this more than anything. Those two could heal each other\'s wounds. Perhaps not completely but maybe enough to survive and to protect those they valued. Yes, he smiled, they could just give each other what one lacked and the other possessed. Together they would almost be unstoppable. But still it was risky. One in Gryffindor and the new one in Slytherin. The sorting hat had tried to find reasons to put the child in Gryffindor or even Ravenclaw, but right now it could not be helped. Harry Potters sibling was Slytherin to the core. This would be a most interesting year.

He watched the disappearance of his only child. It was decided, that it was best this way. The others hoped it would show the brat its place was with them not with the wizarding world. Not in their world but part of it. Being feared was to be preferred to belonging there. He knew different. It had tore into him, finding them both aside of Lily\'s lifeless body. She had been a lovely woman and for a human she was remarkable. So were her children. But what had nearly killed him was to look down into the innocent eyes of the child she blessed him with, knowing soon these eyes would be empty of innocence or pure joy. The childhood of his child had ended too soon. He had hoped for Lily and for what his kid felt for Harry Potter, that the boy would have a better life.
He had watched his progress and had seen what the poor child had to bear with those mere mortals. Muggles they called them. What he had not known was that his child had found a way to watch too, that his only heir trained so obsessively and made such progress just so it could leave him to take care of Harry. To take him away from those hateful people. Part of him was glad, that not all of Lily was lost in that kid and the other part mourned the loss of his child. He knew this was forever. His child would not return to his world. Oh sure, they would visit, he would see them both and take care of them. He owed Lily at least that. But his child would become one of them instead of truly become like himself. And strangely he was glad. Lily\'s children they would be and he no longer had to look into empty eyes that he remembered being so lively on the day he saw the children for the first time. He just hoped it would not cause them too much pain to restore each other. Hope was all that was left for him. He grinned. That and a few aces in his sleeve, as the Muggles liked to say. He sighed. It would at least be very entertaining to watch and just maybe assist a little. Yes, now when was thinking of it, this little drama would be higenteentertaining. The fun was about to begin.
