Summer Forces

Hermione woke up to the smell of Molly cooking breakfast in the kitchen. Pulling back the blankets, she slowly got out of bed and headed towards the bathroom for a quick shower. When she reached it she saw Ginny in there brushing her hair.

“Good morning, Gin,” Hermione said, the last words coming out with a yawn.

“Hi there, sleepy head. Did you sleep well?” Ginny asked while she pulled her hair up into a ponytail.

“Yup! But I think that I could have fallen asleep quicker if you and Harry had decided to use a silencing charm,” Hermione laughed while turning on the shower. Immediately Ginny’s face matched the Weasley’s hair color. “Haha, Gin. I’m just teasing you! But come on I need to shower I’ll see you down at the table in a bit!”

“Um… sorry about that ‘mione. But, yeah, I’ll see you in a few,” Ginny whispered before running the entire way to the kitchen.

After Hermione finished showering, she charmed her hair dry before pining it up into a messy bun. Then she slipped on some faded jeans and her Gryffindor sweatshirt. She had been out of school for a year, but she still couldn’t help but want to show her house pride whenever she could.

When she reached the kitchen table, Ron was already shoveling food in his mouth while he talked to Harry about the upcoming Quidditch season. Fred and George where sitting at the edge of the table whispering. ‘Oh great! What prank do I have to watch out for now?’ Hermione thought as she sat down by Ginny.

While eating a bagel and finishing up her cup of tea, the Weasley’s owl swooped in and dropped off the morning paper. Hermione was the first person to pick it up and she did not like the headline!

Lucius Malfoy was awoken by the sun cascading through his giant windows in his room. Slowly he opened his eyes, letting them adjust to the sun. After waking up a bit, he stretched his arms over his head. Folding back the silk sheets of his bed, he got up. Lucius slowly maneuvered to his bathroom where he decided to take his morning shower.

After he got out of the shower he called for Tipsy to bring his breakfast to his study instead of the breakfast room.  Lucius changed into a crisp new white shirt and black trousers before walking down to his study.

When he reached his study, Lucius sat behind his desk and unfolded his Daily Prophet. After reading through the latest politics he saw the main headline, “New Marriage Law passed by the Ministry for Purebloods and Muggleborns”.As he skimmed the article, Lucius decided that he needed a meeting with Minister Shacklebolt immediately. He had to find a loophole immediately.
