-Prologue-
Sitting on a fallen tree with his face buried into his knees, five year old Harry Potter whimpered and trembled as the cold air battered against his malnourished body.
Trembling when a howl ripped through the air, he decided that he couldn't wait there anymore even if his Aunt and Uncle would be upset that he didn't wait for someone to find him like everyone always said to do.
Jumping up, he stumbled then started running, crying out every time a branch or thorns from the thicket dug into his skin and left a streak of red across his bared skin.
As a particularly large thorn dug into his skin, Harry dropped to the ground and sobbed. As he lay there with blood running down his leg and soaking into his white socks turning it red.
Sitting up, Harry wrapped his arms around his legs and shook as he heard a rumble of thunder before rain starting dropping from the sky pattering against the leaves above his head.
As he sat there, wondering if anyone would ever find him, he missed the cracking of a branch that had been on the ground, but jumped when a long fingered hand touched his shoulder.
Turning around, his eyes widened when he saw the long blonde haired woman giving him concern etched on her beautiful face.
“Now what's a small little thing like you doing lost in my woods?”
“I got lost.” Harry said as he scrubbed his hand across his eyes trying to stop the tears.
“Oh you poor dear. Why don't I take you home and get you out of this weather and then we can find your parents.”
“My Aunt and Uncle, ma'am.” Harry said quietly, slipping his tiny hand into the porcelain hand she held out to him.
“Come on dear. I'll take you home, get you cleaned up and put some meat on those little bones of yours.” She said with a smile.
To Harry, it seemed like they walked for days, but it was only about ten minutes and when they entered a small clearing there was a small crooked house that looked to be in slight disrepair.
As they walked closer, the scent of freshly baked bread reached Harry's nose and his tummy let out a loud rumble.
“Don't worry dear we'll fatten you up soon enough.” She said with a cackle as she opened the door and led Harry in.
****END CHAPTER****
This is only the prologue so that's why it's so short. I'm not sure how long this story will end up being, but I'm guessing only a few chapters maybe five at the most.
