Foretelling of the Dark Yule Prophecy

Foretelling of the Dark Yule Prophecy

‘Twas the night before Yule the snow had turned red

Thestrals were pulling black sleighs full of dead

I lost count of the bodies, of people I knew

Icy tendrils of wind, through the stench, softly blew

It would never be over, I realized at last

No trumpets were blowing, no flags at half-mast

The air was devoid of all color and sound

A lull in the battle, comrades gathered round

They feasted on spoils taken from there

The place I’d betrayed with no thought or care

All the students I taught were piled up high

Mudbloods and Half-bloods, they each had to die

The Dark Lord is reaching into my soul

My Dark Mark is burning, my destruction, his goal

Each drop of blood is lead in my heart

I wish that McNair would just tear me apart

I’m a coward to take my own life, full of fear

My only desire, the wish to die here

Spill my blood, rend my flesh, it all matters naught

What we’ve accomplished, in the end is just rot

Nothing is left to pass on, all is fleeting

The reaper is waiting for our final meeting

The dawn never comes in a world full of grey

One the Dark Lord rules cruelly each day

I join the ranks of my brethren this night

Tortured soul is released with nary a fight

Eyes that are sightless all of the best

Alongside at last, nature lays us to rest

No songs will be sung or stories be told

Memories fade into legends of old

The castle stands sentinel marching forward in time

Secrets are buried in thistle and thyme

One day uncovered is Slytherins tomb

A curse that she opens in twilight and gloom

Thus our tale starts all over once more

The nemesis of his, borne of Gryffindor

An outcome of difference has not taken place

Existing backwards in time, a sacred-like space

Time turner she wears on her breast through it all

Bearing the name of House McGonagall

Hail be to she that to Slytherin binds

One Yule prior if love they shall find

Hands of Father Time, they will halt

Fingers done pointing, no person at fault

New era of peace reigns alongside

Merry and chipper, a brand new sleigh ride

Bodies forgotten, history rewritten

Each generation, with them are smitten

This tale that you read holds such a cost

Begin now my friend, or all will be lost

You’ve been given the sight, open eyes which do see

It is Her divine will, and so mote it be
