Wrong side of the bed

Author's note: This is my first attempt at writing a Harry Potter fanfiction story, and I did it one night when I was bored.  I hope you will enjoy reading it and as it is still unfinished I don't know how long it will be.

"Stuck with you”

Chapter 1: Wrong side of the bed

It was a cold morning in November that Harry Potter woke up on the wrong side of the bed. His mood was incredibly foul and even the slightest of things annoyed him. Things like detecting a small tear on his robes, or stumbling on the carpet in the Gryffindor common room or joining his best friends Ron and Hermione at breakfast and discovering his favorite cereal was gone.

“What the hell?” Harry burst out, quite uncharacteristically, causing both Ron and Hermione to look up in astonishment from their food.

“What’s wrong Harry?” Hermione asked with a puzzled expression on her face. Harry sighed exasperated.

“Nothing, it’s fine, I was just wondering where my favorite cereal was. ”

“Having one of those days again now, are we?” Ron stated more than asked.

“Seems like” Harry mumbled, filling his mouth with porridge.

“One of which days? What are you talking about?” Hermione asked.

She wasn’t keen on not knowing things and not being in the loop, especially when it was something about her friends.

“Oh, I’m sorry Hermione I haven’t told you because, well you’ve been totally unreachable these days. You know how you get around exam dates. ” Ron had a stupid grin on his face after saying this but it was quickly extinguished when he saw the look in his girlfriend’s eyes, and the expression turned to terrified.

“No, I don’t know how I GET around exam dates, Ron. Why don’t you enlighten me?!” Her words were like poison.

“Oh, eeeh..busy! Yeah that’s right, busy, that’s how you get, because you’re so clever and you want to review everything before exams and well, I’m not that clever at all, not like my Hermione.” Ron laughed nervously and put both arms around her.

“Oh, stop it Ron, that’s quite enough… nice save by the way” she added then turned to Harry. “Now what is it that I’m missing?”

Harry averted his eyes to the food and shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

“He’s been in a terrible mood lately” Ron said with half a sausage in his mouth.

“I don’t know why but I’ve been incredibly annoyed lately. I don’t know, I just feel so angry all the time and the slightest things can set me off. ” Harry said, forcing down some more porridge.

Hermione looked worried, mainly because she saw Harry was worried but also because she knew that being angry and annoyed was not in Harry’s character.

“Have you talked to anyone about it, like Dumbledore?” she asked.

“No” Harry replied solemnly. “But what could he do about it really?”

Harry sighed. “You know what, it’ll get better, I’ll just bear it for now. ”

“Okay then” Hermione said, still looking worried. “but if it doesn’t pass, please tell us Harry, we’re your friends and we’ll do anything to help you, you know that right?”

Harry smiled at his best friends.

“I know” he said “and thanks” before he left the table.
