In The Rain

Author's gibberish: Hullo there! Here's something I've been thinking about writing for some time. I don't have much to say. No sexy times in this chapter, I wanted to do a little bit of this plot thing. But fear not, for I shall let my inner pervert write the next chapter.

It's been an atrociously soggy day and thank gods it was almost over! A boy of thirteen carrying heavy shopping bags was in a hurry. His shoes made squelching sounds as he was making his way through the muddy puddles. Despite the umbrella his hair was damp and started clinging to his forehead. As he brushed it aside with an impatient movement he revealed a lightning shaped scar on his forehead. He took off his glasses – he couldn't see a thing because of the raindrops clinging to them. He did not notice the running man until it was too late. With a loud splash and a groan the petite boy landed underneath the heavier stranger.

'Bloody hell, you OK, pup?' A deep and pleasant voice asked. He couldn't see much, but they were very close and he did notice that the stranger had eyes in a dark shade of blue that resembled the surface of the sea on a stormy day.

'Sorry, wasn't paying attention. Here.' He felt the stranger grabbing his hand.

'Up we go.' He felt the man pulling him up. The hand was strong and warm.

'Thank you.'

'Oh, plough me with a rake...' Exclaimed the older man. The boy had finally put on his glasses to discover a tall, long-haired and man in a biker jacket staring at him with a bewildered expression on his handsome face. Blue eyes met with the emerald ones hidden behind the glass. Their hands were still linked, a pleasant warmth still radiating from the link.

'James?! No, James is dead. So is Lilly. You must be their boy! You're Harry!'

'You knew my parents?' Asked the boy.

'Sure I did! Fancy that, I just got here and already found you! I'm your godfather, my name is Sirius Black.' After the first shock a much more familiar reality hit Harry, for scattered between their feet, getting wet in the rain were... 'T-t-the groceries!' He stuttered, yanking his hand out of the man's grasp, much to the latter one's displeasure.

'I'll help you pick them up, don't worry. A little water can't do them no harm. I'll carry them for you. We gotta get you out of these wet clothes or you'll catch a cold. Who do you live with? Did Remus and Dora take you in?'

'M-m-my aunt and uncle. She's my mum's s-s-sister.'

'Oh. Her. ' The wide grin faded from his face. He did remember the woman - and those weren't  pleasent memories. He feared to think what the poor little fellow had to go through. But after a while the smile appeared again, even wider.

'Tell me, Harry – do you like living there? You can be honest with me.'

After being silent for a while the boy rose his head and gave Sirius a serious look, as if he was making sure about something. His green eyes showed determination.

'I hate it there.' He said quietly.

'That's something I can fix.' Said the man once again grabbing Harry's hand.

'Come on, lead the way.'
